Remember when Jim and Pam convinced Dwight that a CIA helicopter would pick him up on the roof? Well, neither of them could resist showing up that night to see the prank to it's conclusion.

You're welcome! Night 2 is already drafted. I have one more "bridge" chapter to write and then I'll be up to the stuff I drafted MONTHS ago. Of course, it probably needs significant revisions now but ...
We're leaving for Hawaii next week. Mr. Blood has a conference on Maui and then we're bopping around the Big Island and back to Maui. (Can you believe the decadent year I'm having??) Not sure whether I'll lug a laptop along or not. It WOULD give me something to do on the plane rides but it's kinda heavy.
So the upshot is I'm not sure how I'll be doing on the updates from here to the middle of September. I'll take a notebook for sure, soI'll be writing, just maybe not posting.

I've read the last few chapters so many times just to help enjoy this last little gem (and the warm fuzzies it gives me.). So short-so perfect. Please don't let Pam catch Jim saying Karen's name in his sleep. I might chuck my laptop out the window.

I've reread the last two paragraphs of this chapter about 20 times. Beautiful. Love the angst, but Jim's just got to let an 'I love you' to Pam slip out somehow. He's got to be so tired. Please? ;)

I ALWAYS love this story. I can't believe that it's only been 24 hrs into the plot. I get so happy to see it pop to the top of the 'most recent' list. Why did he have to lie about talking with Karen? Didn't he learn anything talking to those fans?

Thanks a lot! I KNOW what you mean about only being 24 hours into the plot. Geez, now that I think about it, it's almost like I'm doing that show 24. I've got almost a chapter per hour going here. I think I'm gonna have to start letting some time elapse, don't you? Otherwise, this will end up being over 100 chapters by the time Pam leaves!
And what can I say? Jimbo is apparently a slow learner...

Awesome update. I just love how you get these two wrapped around each other in bed! I can relate to the new job craziness. I just started a new job on the 12th after spending 5 weeks wrapping up the old one (when all I wanted was to take a vacation). Ugh.

Two days after the Booze Cruise...what might've happened if Jim had confessed sooner.This story has never disappointed! Thanks so much for this new steamy chapter. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is so 'them'. Their awkwardness (at the beginning) is exactly how I would have imagined it. And nothing too kinky--I must be a prude but I wouldn't expect that for a 'first time'. Great job. Your writing is just beautiful.

Pam moved to New York instead of starting work at Dunder Mifflin. Years later she returns and she meets Jim, but they're at very different points in their lives.I just love this story. It's one of my favorite stories on this site--so haunting, wonderful, and long! I can’t wait until it’s finished so I can take a weekend and start reading again from the beginning. For this chapter...I can't believe Jim wasn't thinking more of Megan with all the ‘I love you's thrown around. Anyway, I just love this story--keep writing and I’ll be there reading.
Love‘n this story. It really is a fabulous follow up/continuation. I‘d be happy if approached 40 chapters too! And yes, it inspired me to go back and read the entire Dunder Hall story start to finish--was up until 4am, I‘m a walking zombie. Not sure my family thanks you, but I do!

This story really reminds me what it was like to be 22. I'm sure a few of us had a summer like this (I wish). Anyway, I really, really, wish I still had a backyard pool--Whew, that was so hot. Can't wait for an update to see how they struggle with the lust vs. being in love feeling that people struggle with at that age.

I really enjoyed these chapters--what a great read. Your description of their first night together was superb--no need for smut, you wrote it beautifully. Love the line about Karen-"She’d have done better to just pee around his desk." I wish they would have shown a bit more of Karen's desperation after the beach in the show. Thanks for filling in some of the blanks on that one.

I really like this. Very nice. Jim proposing in the parking lot to a fireworks display just seems out of character--more like something Roy would do. Jim only spending a few moments at work to plan out his proposal would not produced the ass-kicking we were promised. There's been other post Goodbye Toby proposal stories, but this one makes me the happiest.

Is there life and love after Jam?Ahhhhh Jim, use your words ;) Will he never learn? Pam was the first victim. If he keeps it up, Emily will be next. Reading back over the ‘bold font’ today, I’m not too fond of your Jim. If he’s going to second guess EVERYTHING and have so little faith in his partner (or his love) he deserves to be alone. Sorry, he just sounds more and more pathetic on the second/third/forth read. Anyway, I’m going to blame the whole JAM downfall on his stupid brother in Chapter 1. What girl wouldn’t clam up of you were waiting for a proposal that long. Been there myself. Love the Emily character. Love the story and the reviews/responses. This is a wonderfully haunting story, one of my new favorites. I can’t wait to see how they work through this. Please don’t rush through this story. Although they are together now (or something like that) I’m looking forward to the angst that will follow--Jim’s recovery, Jim’s shame, Pam’s guilt, all of it. It’s going to be hard and sad , but knowing (fingers crossed) that they’ll get through this makes it such a compelling read. Your writing is vivid and descriptive. Love it.
