Awww how sweet. I love that her way of dealing with an uncomfortable situation like that is to drink. Very reminiscent of The Dundies. It was also very natural how the conversation flowed from angry to happy; you can tell they're really responsive to each other and know exactly what to say to make the other one feel better. Awesome chapter! More please!

NOW COMPLETE!!!

"Jim, why don't you tell Pam how you really feel?"

Jim and Pam deal with the stuff that comes with being on a hit show...talk shows, radio call-ins, and press junkets. They say there's no such thing as bad publicity, but is that really the case? Watch as Jim and Pam deal with being in the public eye and under the thumb of manipulative network producers. The story is told through interviews, transcripts, web pages and photos.

Great chapter! I really loved the way you wrote Brian; you did a fantastic job of really creating his character and also his entire backstory revolving around the documentary. What a great twist on CN as well, and I can't wait to see what made Brian turn the lights on them, as well as Jim's reaction to "I know." Wonderful job!

What a great concept! You're seriously the best at looking at these characters like they're real and seeing the impact it has on them. I like how you alternate between transcripts and narrative in this one; it's a really unique and effective way to tell the story. Can't wait to see what comes next!!!

Author's Response: Thank you so very much for your comments, Dundie All-Star. I really appreciate your feedback and I'm so glad to hear that I'm doing something that people like with this story. Thanks again!

I just read this twice in 24 hours. Is that bad? I really love her voice in this; the italics especially crack me up. And I really love the unique setting and how everyone is essentially themselves, except not. Basically, I am loving this, and I hope you update soon!

Author's Response: That is so not bad. That is the opposite of bad. Thank you so much for taking the time to review! I'll hopefully have another chapter up soon!

Here's another review, as promised! This was an awesome interpretation of their first date, and like it says at the end of this chapter, no wonder he bought a ring after only a week! You definitely proved it was plausible. As for "emo bits" that may stand out, I definitely noticed some (especially in chapter 2) that seemed out of place, but I didn't find most of them too distracting. And you could definitely, DEFINITELY expand this, especially if you have more ideas for it. Great job!

Author's Response: Thanks for coming back and reviewing this for me!! I\'ll probably go back and chop some stuff out of ch. 2 eventually but right now I\'m just trying to work out something for the next chapter. I have about three different versions but I think what I\'ve got going now is going to be the final draft. Thanks again for reading and I look forward to hearing what you think about what I come up with. :D

Aww!! I actually just went and read all your stuff (if you'd like me to go back and review the others then let me know), but I liked this one the best. I love your writing style; first-person is super difficult and it seems like you do it effortlessly. And I especially loved the fake-out in this story at dinner; definitely something he would do. The flashbacks were nice as well. Overall, awesome awesome awesome!

Author's Response: Well thanks for all of that! How nice! :D I can\'t seem to do anything BUT first person. But I love it. And if you\'re willing, then absolutely I would appreciate any and all feedback. I have an idea for how to expand Taking a Chance into something longer...I had a few requests to do a chapter for every line of the poem and I think I have some good ideas. You think I should go cut out some of the more cheesy sappy emo bits that seem to jump out at me when i reread that one?

Short and smutty, just right. Hehe. I loved the motivation you gave for her, that he looked so tired and just needed to relax, and she wanted to help him with that. The actual smut part was excellent too; definitely along the lines of poetic in terms of the language you used. Nicely done!

Great job! I loved your descriptions of their feelings, Pam's feelings in particular. You really got across that she was full of doubt and even a little scared. I loved how Jim could sweep her off her feet though. Soo fluffy. Next chapter soon please!

Author's Response: Your continued reading and feedback on this story have been great. I really do appreciate it. It\'s so nice when someone takes the time to review your story, isn\'t it? You can never tell if people are into it unless they comment. I mean it looks like this story has been clicked on over 20,000 times but I only got feedback from 15 members. I love this so much! The idea of him getting the job works so well, it makes me wonder if they'll do something like that one the show! You do a really great job of including everyone in the story as well, so it's not all about Jim and Pam. I mean, you even got Creed in there! And I think I laughed out loud when Pam texted "kiboshed the shrine huh:-(" Magical. There were so many amazing moments in this, smut, humor, and awkwardness included. Keep it up!

Author's Response: Thank you I am touched. Glad you are liking all the aspects. There\'s way more to go keep checking in. I really appreciate the comments.

I am loving these really happy/sad/scared wrapped up all into one stories! I think you're really touching on a topic no one seems to get: are they actually ready to get married? I really enjoyed this variation. Jim is so sure of himself, like he always has been, and so it is very in-character for him to convince Pam that everything will be alright. I thought the ending was great too; gotta end on a humorous note!

Author's Response: I just got done reading an extremely angsty story that wsa basicaly going to ruin my morning. Just seeing a review for this story has changed everything. I\'m really glad that you took the time to read it and actually liked it. It makes me want to write again.

I was really touched by this one, just because I know what it's like to be in a long-distance relationship. You really captured just how difficult it is and how complicated feelings can get when you don't see each other every day. The line, "I don’t know if I can keep watching you leave" really struck a chord. It was perfect. Nice job!

Pam too, that she had wanted to say something real but just couldn't. It is totally believable, especially the complete lack of communication between everyone. The description of the painting was really well done as well, and you explained perfectly why she included all the things she did. Great job!!

I loved this sooo much!! Such warm fuzzies everywhere. I especially loved:

There is a small smile among the new crop of stubble, which will no doubt find its way to her sink sometime this weekend. He’ll go play ball in the morning and after coming home and draining the cold water jug in the fridge, he’ll leave his shoes in her way again before hopping in the shower where he’ll use up most of the hot water.

That's a really great example of all the fluid connections you make throughout this little oneshot. Nicely done!

Author's Response: Thank you DAS, I\'m glad you liked it and glad you reviewed. Reviews make me smile, and I am a dork, Hee! I had fun with this little thing and it got quiet the response. I like that part too, it\'s just all the more reason for Pam to love him, because she knows so much about him and his bad habits too, and that he won\'t change and she still just loves him to bits.

Great job, LC! Heh, LC, like Lauren Conrad, right? I know that's why you chose this name, don't lie. ;)

So I've decided to reread this just for funsies. And because it's that good of course. Way to put these two chapters together; they flow really well into each other. I still really like the Pim exchange on the airplane (sidenote: your Jim's Vacation Playlist link isn't working!), and I think this time around I'll especially enjoy the interactions Dwight and Judy have, and how his opinion of her will slowly change.

I'm also going to pick out Jack-esque lines for every chapter to prove to you how good you are (sans the first chapter because I obviously started into this story late in the game). Here's the one for this chapter: "He gave me the name of the store he bought my perfume from, though, so I really hope I can get up there. I’m almost out. (Phyllis smiles more suggestively than one would’ve thought she could.) Bobby really likes that scent." So disturbingly hilarious. Nailed it.

Author's Response: Yes, DA-S...LC like the girl on The Hills. You are so very clever. *smack* I\'m glad you\'re rereading this for funsies and not because you got confused on whether or not this was cross-posted. (IT IS.) I\'ll fix that darn link for next chapter. Glad you thought putting two chapters together for this one was a good choice; I like it. And thanks for the Jack-like call out...I\'m flattered, he\'d probably die. Of embarrassment. Okay, kiddo, you rule for reviewing this behemoth TWICE. All praise due. :)

There was many a funny line in this chapter, but the most Jack-esque one is...

“Hmm,” Jim provided, clearly not trusting his voice with anything more complex.

Speaking of which, how's that collaboration going?

Author's Response: Thanks babe, and it\'s going well. :)

Reviewer: Dundie All-Star Signed 10

This was chock-full of Jack-esque lines, but this one stood out and was (for me) the clear winner:

Oscar: (outside MuppetVision 3D) It was great. The Muppet Show reminds me a little of our office, you know? Chaos and stupidity reign supreme, but probably pretty entertaining to watch. (He listens to a question from off-camera and considers it a moment. ) If I had to cast our office with the Muppets? Hmm…Dwight would be Gonzo. Michael’s a little like Fozzy Bear. Andy…Andy’s kind of like Miss Piggy, don’t you think? Loves to sing, prone to violence… (He listens again.) Jim and Pam…? They’re the two old guys that sit in the balcony and heckle…you know…

The Andy/Miss Piggy line KILLS me.

Reviewer: Dundie All-Star Signed 10
Date: September 16, 2008 Title: Chapter 4: Chapter 4

It was a close race in this chapter for the most Jack-esque line, but here's our winner:

Michael posed as he so often did when he knew he was about to say something brilliant.

I do realize these are buttons, but come on, I wrote paragraph upon paragraph of what I loved about this on FF. Go read those reviews to refresh your memory. :)

Author's Response: The fact that you have reviewed at all, let alone a SECOND TIME, is appreciated beyond measure. You\'re the best. :)
