This was very well written and real. I've always felt a bit bad for Karen; it was never her fault that Jim put her between himself and Pam. I also think that your story depicts a real relationship and a real man. We all know Jim doesn't have the best track record with women that aren't Pam. I think this certainly is a last attempt by both of them to make it work, although I'm sure Jim knows deep down that he shouldn't be there with her.

Three years have passed since Pam left Scranton for New York, and Jim is still very much on her mind.  Will a work-related trip to Rome, Italy be the catalyst that reunites Pam with Jim once and for all?

I LOVED LOVED LOVED this story.
Like another reviewer mentioned, I like how you have kept the characters realistic. I like it more when I can relate to them as the Pam and Jim we've gotten to know through the series, and you encapsulated that.

The facebook thing was great. I so know what it means to wait for that "special someone's" profile to show up( mine hasn't shown up yet, but I'm optimistic)

I love Italy and Roma and I am always sceptical when someone choses to use it as a backdrop, seeing Roma is a character in herself. You use Roma as if you're in a dialogue with her and it gives the story so much.
I particularly liked the part where Jim was standing in the sixtine chapel thinking about Pam. And the Bocca della Verita` piece was so good, both with Pam alone and with them together. I also loved the picture with the petals falling around them as they first meet.

Bottom line: A great story!

Author's Response:

Oh wow!!  Thank you for the wonderful (bellismo!) review.  You are so generous in your compliments-- thank you!!  I have to say that you picked all my favourite bits as your own, which warms my heart.  There were times where I would be completely lost in the story, imagining (perhaps) myself as Rome watching them come together.  It was such a treat to write this fic.  The story really moved me, and I'm glad to see people feel connected to it and felt that it was genuinely realistic. Again, thank you so much for the lovely review.

Every time I think I cannot possibly read another "Jim/Pam getting together" story something like this turns up. That was superb. I loved how slow you got them together. The conversation in the break room was so much fun to read, and Pam growing into her own in New York was very believable. Love it, but am slightly worried about the next turn of events.

Hi.
I was so glad to see a story from you, and seeing you've been so kind and reviewing my story lately I really wanted to return the favour. I agree with JamLover 101, this really is a creative idea. Please keep writing. I've always felt that it was a shame that the only true friend Jim has in the office was Pam. I like the idea of someone else seeing his struggle and actually encouraging him to pursue her.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I really enjoy writing, though I\'m struggling at times since I don\'t speak english nor do I live in an english speaking country :) But it\'s a really fun way to improve my english and who could resist writing about Jim and Pam? I\'ll try my best to keep updating regularly, and I\'m also looking forward to a new chapter of momentary courage! Thanks again for reviewing, it means a lot!!

Summary:

I decided I love every time someone writes about Jon, and he's become a real character on this site. So I kept thinking about writing JAM's growing relationship during the seasons through telephone conversations with Jon and Jim, and sometimes even his mom and his sister Lisa. Pam might even call once or twice...who knows. :P It's all dialogue BTW, since it's phone conversations. Interesting way to tell a story.

WOW, just WOW. I needed a drink at the end of that one. This chapter is impossible to put down. When you think it can't possibly get any worse, it does. Poor Jim.

Some of my favorite parts:
"But he hit rock bottom a long time ago, and his life wasn’t looking up. Maybe because he just found a shovel and kept digging"
Brilliant!

" Too bad he didn’t have the guts to suddenly cut production. Besides, a shocking finale didn’t really fit the style of the Jim Halpert Show. Much more appropriate for a midseason drop no one even noticed"
Great analogy!

And then the entire phonecall to his brother. Heartbreaking.

I cannot wait to read the next chapter.

Author's Response: Thanks, Pisa! I\'m glad you enjoyed the chapter! Thanks for taking the time to point out parts you liked...it really helps me! I\'ll hope you\'ll continue to enjoy the story.

Hi
It's time I reviewed this story. First let me just say that I really like it. I imagine that this is how Jim and Pam could have been like if they'd embraced big city life. I actually think I like them even more as modern and urban city-dwellers.
I love how you've placed them in London, which is one of my favorite cities. The idea of them at the National Gallery was very real. I can imagine Pam spending a lot of time there. And I love how you singled out the portrait of Emily Bronte . I can imagine Wuthering Heights being a favorite of Pam's. So sweet that Jim remebered.

Some of my favorite lines:
"She knew that she would never be able to take it slow with Jim; it would be all or nothing and Pam wasn’t sure if she could live with herself if they failed. "

I think that's exactely how Pam felt after Casino Night. Good description.

" Pam, as was often the case, found herself looking at the small and unassuming portrait of Emily Bronte and not for the first time thought that the young woman pictured looked as though she wanted to escape the frame."

This is so true. I've seen that picture a couple of times and there is something uncomfortable over Emily Bronte. I think you caught this nicely.

"She kept staring ahead as she felt his fingers touch her own. He rubbed the pad of his thumb against the underside of her index finger and slowly, achingly slow, she let his hand envelope her own. It was enough. In the small gap that separated them and out of view of everyone, they held hands and it had rendered them both speechless."

Awhhhhh......so sweet.

Please update soon. I cannot wait for that drink with Michael and Dwight.

Author's Response: Thanks Pisa for your generous review. I’m pleased that you are enjoying the story and that my view of how Pam felt after Casino Night didn’t seem way off to you. Re the portrait of Emily Bronte...it staggers me that someone with such a passionate and soulful voice could look so unassuming in that painting. Whenever I\'m at the National Gallery I go and look at it and I simply cannot reconcile the woman pictured with what I imagine the creator of one of the most powerful novels of the time, if not of all time would be like. I hope you enjoy the next chapter.BAx
