7 I loved the fact that Karen walked away well detered. Now give us a second chapter and tell me what happened next.
I started reading this at LJ, realized I read it here too, and kept going anyway because I really liked it. Have to agree with Colette, the line about shaving her legs was so true!
One nitpick -- for phone numbers, the "555" should be the second set of numbers, not the area code. I could still technically call that number locally if I was bored and really drunk.
And you mentioned in LJ that your going to be studying creative writing. Keep it up -- you're definitely on the right track!
I was trying to think of what would finally set Pam and Jim back in motion and came up with the documentary airing. Basically the documentary they are watching is our Season 2, though doesn't end exactly as our Season 2 ended.

Jim receives a gift the day after Christmas. And then another one the next day. And again for the 10 days after. Is it a joke, or has his True Love come forward? 8 Loving this so far. And the New Kids reference? Classic!
so he prints off the rental listing and hands her his future.
Such a great line, which is probably why I found it so heartbreaking.
What if it wasn't Dwight who found her? Spoilers for Back from Vacation. 7 That was so great! I was expecting at least one of those to be Jim or Karen so it was a nice surprise when you didn't include them.
And I'll put another vote in for breaking up the dialogue differently to have each person's words and actions be together instead of having the dialogue of one person right after the action of another. That being said, it's minor compared to the voice and language you used, which were awesome!

Jim thinks about things in the warehouse. Speculative spoilers for upcoming episode, "Ben Franklin" 3X148 Ok first, the whole thing about big boobs and button down shirts and the gapping at the buttons? I know all too well about that. And just like that little detail, it seemed very realistic. Great job!

Author's Response: Glad you liked it! "I love Jam with Peeps" made me think of peeps with jelly on them, which seems very wrong. But JAM with peeps makes me happy.
She points toward the coffee pot, almost reassuring him that it's safe to take, no chance of hands crashing into each other, no touching involved. Like the coast is clear, and she's telling him to go for it.

8 So good! I kept thinking "Oh, Jim and Pam eating out." Then started to doubt myself and then I was right after all. But yeah, the surprise and suspense was great!

I'm loving this so far, especially the fact that you're telling Pam's story without using any dialogue. It's all internal and it's all so well-written. Can't wait to see what happens next. Thanks sharky! I started this because after that "Karen confronts Pam" episode (aka Ben Franklin) I had all this residual empathy for Pam and needed an outlet. I also don't want to do battle on the TWoP boards about how I feel about the character. Suffice it to say - I think she gets a really bad rap. I spent a lot of time post-Casino Night feeling sorry for Jim and now the tables have turned a bit. LOL! I can't wait to see what happens next either!!! I'm trying not to go AU so for this story - sorry to say it won't happen until we're back from hiatus. :(

How corporate! At my last job, that's how they described me in my staff announcement when I left. So yeah...you have a corporate Angela down perfectly!!!!!!
I too have worked in the corporate world and I too have received the "adequate" medal of honor. I mean what are you supposed to do when someone says that to your face? I mean, really? In my case, I said "Thank...you" like my boss was an idiot. Probably not the best approach... which is why I'm not a vice-president yet. Of course, that could also be because I write FanFic at work instead of, you know, working. Nah.
I hoped you laminated that staff announcement so you can show it to the grandkids one day. "Take pride in your work, sonny, and you too, may one day be deemed 'adequate'."
8 Ah fluff -- how I love it! And to have Pam propose to Jim was such a cool little twist.
This is from Karen's point of view - my attempt at getting into her head and fleshing out just what's going on there. (Perhaps I should clarify that this is decidedly not a Crazy!Karen fic.)
And while it's obviously centered on Karen, Jim and Pam are very much in the background.
It'll ultimately be a two-parter, probably no more than that. Seriously. I mean it this time.
8 Great job! I loved the end when Karen is asking him if he still wants to be in the relationship. It seems to be as much Jim convincing Karen as convincing himself and you pulled off all that stammering really well.
8 good story. I loved the little note at the end about the cameraman shooting from the second floor.
Love that little twist about it being the Chili's kiss. Good job!
