Roy, eh?
There's one theory.
My first thought when I started reading this, of course, was Roy. Then Toby, who is still a possibility (I don't care if he seems too nice). Then there's the interviewer, who more than came on to her, but that's too obvious. (Here's where you start realizing I've read way too many mysteries in my life.) I'm thinking Patrick at the moment, although with every chapter that seems more obvious too. But that may just be the story wrapping up. It does seem, though, when Pam yelled at her mother, "You did this to me!"...she's blaming her mother for her brother ever existing...? and then she's standoffy to Patrick...although maybe not enough considering he raped her. It's almost literally killing me not to know, please continue soon. It's a mark of a good mystery if you can stump me ^__^

Author's Response: Why \"of course, Roy\"? A couple of people have said they thought it was Roy but he\'s not in the story yet...until after I post this next chapter. I\'m very curious.

Wow, that was...
I loved the way it was written, really. It wasn't difficult for me at all to keep track of.
However, I have to go calm the shakes/sobs now. Fantastic job, I love things that make me cry.

I'm so glad you liked it. This fic actually came out of an assignment for my creative writing class in which we were supposed to write a piece with the structure of something else. Obviously, for this I used the structure of a puzzle. For my class I ended up writing something else, but I was so intrigued by the idea of a puzzle that I couldn't stop writing it that way once I started.

Anyway, sorry for the long aside. And I'm also sorry about the shakes, but it sounds like you enjoyed the overall experience, so I guess I'm not that sorry. Thanks again!

Awww, that was great. Alex the douchebag has a nice ring to it. I don't believe he deserves the 'Alex' part though. I rather think he should just be Douchebag. I'm not even sure if he deserves a capital letter . . .
Anyway, I basically took back any murder threats to Pam, then took back taking them back, and then took back taking back taking them back, like, a billion times. Amazing writing, I love when stories make me do that. Or it might have been a side affect of the sour straws I'm currently eating.
It was probably the writing, though.

I do believe that it's very sad that I know exactly which deleted scenes you referenced, not to mention the one that wasn't deleted--"Oh, Young Jim, there is so much that I need to warn you about and yet, tragically, I cannot."
I love Jim.
Very nice chapter, and great job finding all the mentions of Jim's first days--even in deleted scenes.

Don't we all dream about Krasinski in a towel? God help those who don't . . . they're missing out.
I've been reading this for the past couple days, but have yet to review, so I'll just say I'm really enjoying this and keep it up.
(Any subsequent mentions of a certain actor in less-than-adequate clothing will hereby result in more reviews by me. Just sayin'. Seems to be a great motivator. It's the small things, y'know?)

Ah, fail, I used a less than sign and it cut off my review. Must learn these things.
But what I basically said after that is that you did a very nice Jim, and that apparently Jim is to you what Pam is to me, writing wise; they just don't flow well. But yours turned out fabulously. It works.

First, best line: "Nope. You fail." OMG. That is amazing. Go Pam.
Even though since typing that, I've found about five other lines I could rightfully deem BEST LINE. Jim is too awesome. I must have him.
Okay, and by now I'm almost ready to give the pretigious title of Best Line to Karen. Oh my god. Stop messing with me.

I am working on the next installment, although I\'ve had a terrible case of writers block this month that I just can\'t shake off. :( oh, and I\'m pretty sure I\'m suffering from flu-likesymptoms today, which would make this the third time this year that I\'m sick!
