Ohh! I loved this. You set it well in the season story arc--right about the time that Jim was trying to pull back after such a crushing blow on the booze cruise. Poor Pam, to have to deny so fervently something that happens without the two of them even trying.
It's so in character, too. That last line just slays me.

Having been a JAM devotee from the very beginning, I just can't sign on to a Pam/Ryan romance for the show . However, you have written such a great story here, DinkinFlicka. The initial premise was wonderful, and the resolution was satisfying. I love how strong you wrote Pam, and I wish canon Pam would take a few cues from her. Great work, and I can't wait to read more from you!
