Ideas for Cold Openings (the pre-title gags) always pop into my head. So these will be just a bunch of teasers that, hopefully, you will find funny. I don't know how many I will post but I'll keep putting them up as they occur to me.

Wow, very detailed and realistic story telling! Though I'd hardly expect less from you. You're a gifted writer, to say the least. And, yeah, the topic did hit pretty close to home. Sure wish I had my own Jim...for many reasons, obviously, but for the support. You conveyed this aspect of his character so well, even though he was reluctant to do so. He did it anyway. What an honest story!

Author's Response: Thank you so very much for all the kind words! I tried to stay as true-to-life as possible here, so I\'m glad you enjoyed it.

Summary: A companion piece to Indie Rock & Keds that follows an AU Jim and Pam while they deal with the everyday squabbles that come with living together as they struggle through the daunting beginnings of their careers, and eventually try to find a place to permanently settle down.

I love the flashbacks to Indie Rock and Keds, which is a story that I'm in love with. And seriously, 'the dragon' and 'Hank'? LOL. Your Jim is so funny and I hope he hasn't lost touch with that in the grind of 9 to 5.

One of my favorite parts of your AU is that Pam and Karen are pals. Thanks for that! So cute.

Keep writing...you're great at it.

Author's Response: I\'m glad you are enjoying the Pam/Karen friendship. I just hate Karen always being the enemy, and I have the utmost respect for writers who choose to flesh that character out a little bit more than just being \"the other woman\" or \"the enemy\". I just hope that I can do her character justice. I\'ve always had a soft spot for Karen.

I\'m glad you enjoyed the nickname joke, and don\'t worry- I\'m sure his quirky sense of humor is still there, even though he\'s matured a bit since the very beginning of this story, dating all the way back to Indie Rock. :)

Not at all sloppy. Loved hearing Jim's side of the story. Oh, and you got me with “Pam, you just put your purse inside the refrigerator,” LOL. I love that Angela is their friend, uptight and crazy, but friendly none-the-less. And who doesn't love Drunk!Pam?

Author's Response: I have so much fun writing drunk Pam, I\'m afraid I\'m going to turn the poor girl into an alcoholic. Ha-ha. I promise I wound send her off the deep end. This is not that type of story. Heh. I\'m glad you enjoyed hearing Jim\'s side of things. Thank you so much for the review! Shall you be updating your story soon, perhaps? *Wink, wink.*

So cool! I liked the chronology that you used...starting with the newlyweds tredging through the snow to their hotel. Hooray! The story flowed perfectly and it created a different kind of supense. Good work! Also, i love when they talked before the ceremony through the doorframe. Their convo was so normal and didn't get melodramatic (which it could have gotten).

Author's Response: I\'m glad you liked the order of this chapter, especially since there was plenty copying and pasting over the course of writing it. Heh. Thanks so much for the review- I\'m glad to hear you enjoyed this installment. :)

Summary:

Basically, a Karen story. But I kind of like Karen sometimes… so, yeah.

This week's episode inspired me to come back to review. I really enjoyed your take on Karen. Great story about a classy women getting over her break-up. It's bittersweet and, in that way, very true to life. Good work!

Author's Response:

I wanted to get this story out there before GD and co decided what they thought happened with Karen. In a weird way, I sort of think it dovetailed nicely. Karen is a good person, she made some wrong decisions (but who doesn't when guys are involved), but everyone can work through them.

Thanks for the review :)

Wow, if this story almost hit too close to home for you...well, it seriously hit close to home for me. That was some deep introspection on the part of our girl Pam. I know EXACTLY what she meant with every thought of hers that you wrote. I'm very impressed. Great story!

Author's Response: I know, right? I\'ve been there (sort of) and had those feelings (kinda) and even though I LOVE Jim (seriously, I LOVE him) ... I could see how Pam might just need time by herself to figure some stuff out. Thanks for taking the time to read and review!\r\n\r\n\r\n(Sorry I\'m so slow in respodning, EarlyWorm!)

Wow, again you're taking thoughts right out of my brain.

What about a girl who could be invisible in a crowd but never feel completely lonely because of the vibration of peoples’ dreams and stories and lives around?

That's why I love living in a city.
