But what really struck me is how it was Pam showing she cared. I'm really glad you went that way. Can't wait to read the next part :)

Hey Sally, it's been forever since I've read this story, so I took some time this morning to reread the entire thing. There's such a sweetness in how you portray Jim with his little girl that always gets me. He's such a wonderful dad to her and the fact that she has a disability makes it all the more heartbreakingly so.
The idea of the birthday party was adorable. I'm glad it was such a big thing for them to celebrate his daughter. Love that.
I loved this chapter and how you had Pam come right into Jim's family. Jim's brothers are still douchebags but I'm glad that Pam got along with his parents. She does seem to be fitting into the picture quite nicely :)
Can't wait to see where you go with this. Mmmm...smut ;)

I especially love a chapter like this which presents the fears as well as the joys of a new baby along with shedding light on the not-so-perfect side of JAM. And you do such a great job of keeping it all in character and related to the show. Wonderful job! :) For what it's worth, I know people are wanting Jim's side, but I hope you keep this story in Pam's POV. I love reading about Pam and her own special connection with the baby.

There was never a time where I thought Jim would come barging in...except for the part where I kinda planned for Jim to come barging in. I think people of both schools of thought ;) will be happy in the end. At least I hope so. :)

And to be completely honest, I decided to see what yours was since it's currently sitting directly above mine and I knew you had taken it down and resubmitted it. I was kind of expecting it to be like the one-shots I saw when I left last year, all sappy JAMbaby-esque. Oldleaf, you've left me pleasantly surprised. :)
I think your characterization of Pam is pretty awesome here. I like that she's still unsettled and vulnerable with her feelings, though instead of having her run from the, you have her embrace them as she says these things to Jim.

I'm a softy for lines like this.
you're an open book and I'm the kind with the pages stuck together that you have to pry open carefully because you know there's a page there, but open too forcefully and it tears.
I believe someone else commented on this but I have to reiterate the greatness of this line. It's actually a fantastic way to describe Pam.
I actually didn't get the show reference of Jim smiling when she walked in the room the first time I read it, but what stuck out to me in that moment was that you nicely describe how her mother's influence still has a hold on her and I'm glad you took a moment to establish that she would be cautious about her own relationship after seeing her parents' long standing marriage fall apart because that is how life works and we often reflect in our own relationships what we see around us.
Mostly, I just love that you have Pam, after five years of us knowing her and her going through changes, still is learning and finding herself (and her relationship with Jim) That just because they're married doesn't necessarily mean they've got it all figured out but they're happy and that's the important part.
Anyway, to make a long review short, good job! I hope you decide to give it another shot. Maybe try something from Jim's POV? I'd be interested in your take.

I'm a huge Pam fan - she's actually the reason I kept watching the show, I related so much to her character in season 3, so I've always felt like I "get" her to some extent and it's nice to see that came across in the story. I'm really excited everyone enjoyed those two lines. I love playing around with words and metaphors and things like that. And yes, Stress Relief is definitely the episode that guided me in writing this. I don't know that I'm going to continue this one, but never say never. Maybe I'll randomly think of something more to add. This was really just a way to force myself to be creative again, because I haven't written anything in awhile (I like to write original stuff too) and it's just always been something I love. Wow, this was refreshingly sweet. I really loved the realism of the story, how even though they love their child, they need a break every once in a while and how even if they get said break, it's never really one because issues come up. Life isn't about romantic gestures one after another but the small moments we get in-between all the insanity that we can hold on to. You portrayed that very well.
I loved that Jim and Pam's anniversary wasn't perfect, but it was them. Great job!

Interesting new premise Danielle. At first I thought it was just a smut story but you've got something cooking. I really liked how the enjoy each other in the morning--your imagery there is great!

Anyway, wow, they really can't catch a break, huh. Wasn't expecting Pam to get cut down, too. There's so much tension here, I'm really interested to see how this all plays out.
You've got such a nice sense of emotion here. I feel like you do a great job of showing just how beaten down Jim grows the more day goes on and how just exhausted he is at the end of the day. I'm glad you have Pam be so supportive yet there's tension there as well. Again, Cece was a sweetie and at the same time, just another added difficulty.

Love Cece spending time with Jim. Also liked that Jim and Pam had a little bit of a fight. Of course, nothing outlandish but it's nice to show that they aren't the perfect couple. Keep it up girl!
