Aw! This is so cute. I love how excited they are that she slept so long. I can't really relate to it, but it definitely seems like a big thing for a baby to do. I hope to read more stories from you soon!

Oh this is so adorable. Poor worried Jim. Cece will get there, don't you worry. I love the parallel you used, with him saying: "Good...I love you too...and don't worry - I'll be persistent. I've proven I'm good at that right? I'll just start going up to her crib. Hanging over the side...making jokes about you...If your cell phone ends up in our ceiling don't get mad ok?...We're bonding."
It brought to my mind all the times Jim's hung out at reception with Pam. Very sweet. :)

I adore the way you write Cece - your characterization of her is my favorite. I think this chapter is also my favorite of this series. It's so heart warming and sweet and I loved seeing, of all people, the mother of Pam's ex's perspective of Jim and Cece. I really could see this happening in my head, your description is great. I wish I had a suggestion for another person for them to meet right now. If anything does strike me I'll send it your way. This is great, and I hope you have another update soon!

This is adorable! I love how demanding little Cece is for her 'botty.' And I'm so excited that this will be a long story too, I'm really looking forward to it! Hmm... little moments that stand out for me, when I was younger (which seems like eons ago) every Sunday my dad and I would go for a walk in the morning after breakfast, and then go grocery shopping on our way home. Also, he taught me how to ride a bike, and drive a car. Anyways, can't wait to read more of this :-)

Oh, I completely remember being Cece's age right here and thinking I was all grown up and an adult. And now that I am an adult, I would give up a kidney to go back to the simpler times of teenager-hood. I really like the part where Cece tells Jim that she was born 4 months after they got married - that had to come up eventually, nicely crafted!

I'm really sad that there's only one chapter left to this. Is there any way we can convince you to keep going? Or maybe do a companion piece - of Pam and Cece through the years? Just a thought. I really loved this and hate to see it go.

Author's Response: Thanks so much. I know, sometimes I wish I could go back. Maybe not to high school, but to college definitely. And yeah, you can't lecture your 17-year-old kid about accidental pregnancy when you knocked up her momma before you were married and expect not to hear about it. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your encouragement and wanting the story to continue. I'd love to keep it going, but I think this might be a matter of knowing when to leave the party. I have several ideas for other stories I'd like to get into, and I think my energy on this one is at a point where the best thing to do is bring it to a graceful close (the plan all along was to go through 18; I'm not quitting early). Re: a Pam/Cece companion piece. That's definitely a possibility. No promises, but I'll absolutely think about it and if I think I can do it justice, I'll add it to my list. Again, thank you so much!

I remember doing pretty much the same thing when I was that age. Isn't it ironic how kids say things like 'you don't care about me at all,' when parents are just trying to keep the kid safe? It's crazy. Now I'm feeling guilty about doing that to my parents too... maybe I'll go buy a cake or something... Looking forward to more of these little snippets.

Author's Response: Oh yeah. And it never completely ends. I'm 30 and I swear my mother can still push my buttons in a way that sends me back to being 13. In my defense, however, if I say "Mother, I don't want to talk about that," she tends to keep pushing. But I find myself bordering on hysterical around my mother from time to time and almost never around anyone else.

Oh, so so sweet! I'm really loving this, and two chapters in one night! That's pretty awesome. I love how well he takes care of his little girl. Really lovely story. Can't wait to read more.

I like the peek into their future lives. Very sweet. Poor Jim being stunned that she called him dad. Little Cece is growing up.
