I guess you probably aren't going to given how long it's been, but I'd really like to see you finish season three and maybe even get into season four. You've written some great stories here. Thanks for that

I liked this. I'm a sucker for anything Pam POV. I felt so bad for her all through season three. But she came through it much better. I guess it gives us all hope that even the worst times can be useful.

I love this series. It's a nice twist on the original setup of the show. And it's very true to Jim and Pam. It seems like you've been writing it for a while based on the notes. Had you chosen the name Ellie before she was an actress on the show? If so that's some eerie coincidence :) Keep writing 'cause it's really great :D

Author's Response: LOL! I have been writing this for a while, I really need to work on how long it takes me to update each chapter. I started this without really thinking about the name Ellie, I just thought Jim would pick something cute for his little girl. I'm glad you think it's true to their characters, because even though it's an AU, that's something I wanted to make sure I got right. Thank you for reviewing. I'm writing right now :)

Summary: Past Featured StorySeason 8 post episode one shots. Like "Harmony" only, they're Season 8. NOW COMPLETE.

Love the callback to his wedding toast and faking not being able to cook to get her to be close to him :) And let's not forget a basic staple in his cooking arsenal. His famous grilled cheese sandwhiches ;) I mean it was the first time someone had cooked for her in ages!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I love the idea of early Jim and Pam dating and him just wanting to be close to her to hug her, and I'm glad you liked that too! I'm betting that Jim cooks for her somewhat often, if he was willing to do that for her back then, he should be willing to do it now too, right? I had a lot of fun writing this chapter, and I'm so happy that you enjoyed it! :)

Thank you for mentioning her nap. I know it bothered me that she gave in to Nelly. Whether it bothered Jim or not I can't say from the episode. I don't for a minute think that it would end up being a big deal between them. But I do believe he could be upset about it. And yes sometimes the conversation takes a back seat to a less verbose (shall we say?) apology :p

Author's Response: It bothered me a lot that she gave into Nelly. I wish she'd have been stronger in resisting, but I thought maybe she was afraid of losing her job? So I went with it. Most of the time, I feel like I'm addressing my own concerns with my own one shots lol I'm glad you enjoyed this, and yeah, sometimes you don't need words to apologize ;) heh Thanks so much!

Thanks for putting a positive spin on the biggest downer of the episode. So the five years would be from their first date in season three. The ten years - from when they met (whoever you think was their first)? My thoughts have always been Pam was there first but I know there's a version where Jim was there first.

Author's Response: You're welcome. I couldn't stop rationalizing it so it had to be written. Yes, 5 years since they started dating, 10 years since they met. I'm in the Pam worked there first camp because when she says, "I walked you to your desk and I said remember this moment, because you'll never go back to a time when you didn't meet your deskmate Dwight." It's such a beautiful scene that it stayed with me and became how it happened, even if Greg Daniels can't make up his mind of which one was there first lol Thanks for the review, I really appreciate it! Happy Holidays! xx

I guess I don't read much of the extreme AU stuff. It hurts my head a bit to read. That's not your fault. But reading a Jim with such a different background is challenging. And then the quotes and things from "real" them adds a layer of stress to my brain. Again these are not critiques as I see the artistic craft in what you've done and are doing. I wouldn't have read all eight chapters so far if I didn't see the quality in the work :)

Author's Response: I very much appreciate you taking your time to read this fic, which is a little out of your comfort zone. And don't worry I didn't take this as a critic at all. Your review was a huge compliment to me. Thank you for reading!

Still reading. Been wondering how the story would continue. I liked the pacing here. Still not rushing further than the characters would go. I must admit I've been popping on now and again to see if there was an update. Glad I stopped in tonight :)

Wanted you to know I'm still with the story. I can tell you first hand the flight from Australia is brutally long. And that was without the stress of going home to meet my child and estranged partner! I'm really glad that if nothing else Jim got to see and hold his child. So if you're really going to mess with my head and split them up I've still got this chapter to hang my hat on :)

Author's Response: Thanks you VERY much for telling me you're still with me on this roller coaster ride. You've been to Australia? How was it? I ALWAYS wanted to go there! But I can't imagine traveling for that many hours! I've been in a 9 hr flight, but then again it's not the 14+ hours coming from Australia and of course, taking connecting flights. Yikes! I'm glad you liked this chapter. Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Yay for another new chapter! Can't wait for the next one. I'm not too patient and want him to jump in the car right now. But I'm glad you're stronger than me ;) Excited to hear what she gets and thinks about his package! And what a perfect ending line - no one in Scranton, not no one on Earth.

Author's Response: Thanks so much, I'm really happy you liked the chapter! I'm really impatient too, but I'm trying to convince myself that it has to be a slow build. They can't just jump right into something without reconnecting first. And hopefully my end point is one that makes logical sense. Thanks for sticking with me, more will be on the way soon! :) Hope you liked the latest update.

Ooh I swear if you're having him lie to her about Karen...grr! Poor Pam drove all that way to find a girl in his apartment. I can see why she'd react the way she did though. Thanks for an update. They seem to be getting pretty close now. The merger will be quite conveniently timed if you decide to go that way, or maybe as Jan's original plan had been we can think of a reason to put Pam in Stamford if you wanted to go AU.

Author's Response: :) I hadn't thought about going AU with it, but that could really work too without changing my ending point. I'll give that some thought, thanks! Thanks so much for that, I really appreciate the insight! My reasoning for having her drive all the way there only to find Karen there was to have him see how Pam's making an effort, and that she's upset that he'd have another woman in his apartment, mainly so Pam isn't just laying it all out there on the line so soon... basically because I think she needs just a little more confidence and she needs to know that he's in the same state. I'm hoping to continue this one soon, once the holidays pass. Thanks so much! :) Happy Holidays! xx

Great chapter. I love the actual episode. And while the build up was worth it in the end I know I wanted that call to end differently at the time. You could tell how close they were. I'll be waiting for the next chapter :)

Author's Response: Thanks! Exactly, they were so close to getting back to normal, or at least trying to, that I think her cutting him off that way really made him put the walls back up. I know they had to do it for the show and the pay off was worth it most definitely. It's fun to write the what if scenario, too, and explore how things could have gone differently. I'm happy you liked this and hope you'll enjoy the upcoming chapters!

*giggles and claps* He showed up! Also loved the reference to the art show ahead of time. If this thing gets as far as the art show I'm going to love how (I hope) it's so much different with Jim there instead of you know who. But I will miss Michael being there. I mean he'll still be there I'm sure, but our real hero will save the day rather than our completely unexpected hero.

Author's Response: Hehe! Yeah, he did! I wanted this to be like... okay the episodes are the episodes, what could have happened had they started talking again, and I really think that he would have shown up instead of getting drunk in Stamford. I'm so happy you like this! My ending point is a little sooner thank Business School, but the epilogue is up in the air as for time frame, so you never know... :) Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts, it really means so much! :) More on the way after the holiday!

YAY! I like how you took some of the events from season three and reframed them in this world. How even the art itself that she made was different. Not just that he was there to see what we saw in her show. And the snippet from Phyllis' Wedding was nice too. That's a really hard episode to watch. We didn't get Michael's scene with her in this universe I bet. But I also bet Pam would've gladly had it this way with Jim there instead of Michael :)

Author's Response: Thanks! The end came out differently than I originally planned, but in the end I thought it wrapped up better this way with little snippets instead of delving into recreating each episode entirely. It would have been a longer story with the same outcome, so I didn't want it to be dragged out too much. In my world, Jim would always be at Pam's art show instead of Michael. Thanks for reading! And thanks for sticking with me on this one! :)

So glad he didn't go out with Karen. Dropping stronger hints is well in character for them too. Thanks for giving us another non-date that I really think they would have had tons of :)

Author's Response: Thanks, I'm happy to see that you enjoyed this! I think they would have done this plenty and not really realized it, even before he left for Stamford I think that they hung out together a little bit and when they did it had a sense of a date but not really. Glad you liked! :) Thanks for taking the time to review!

I know lots of people have already commented on the setup. I didn't see it coming I have to admit. Long hair and womanly curves. Sounds like Jim has a type doesn't it? :p Turns out I have the same type ;) At some level there would never be a right time to move on. But I could see where with young children he'd want to move on sooner than later so it was less traumatic for them.

Author's Response: Yeah, it appears Jim has a "type," and I'm glad I "fooled" you with the story. As I said in my comments below, the only way I think Jim would "cheat" on Pam is if she died. And finding yourself a 30 yr old widower is a very confused, raw situation to be in. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, rahenson1.
