This one was fun - and Pam's shamed admission about loving the animal crackers scene from Armageddon seems alarmingly in character.

I don't know, I just really liked this. I thought you did a good job seeding the twist without giving it away.

Thank you! This was my 1st or 2nd piece of Office fic ever. It’s not perfect by any stretch but I am fond of it for being so early on.

 I got into a bad habit of twist endings, though. I guess I was trying to be the M. Night Shyamalan of The Office fanfic or something dumb.

I always love fics that give the secondary or tertiary characters more of a role, and I don't think I've seen many with Gil - at least not with Gil doing something positive. (In some ways I think Business School really works with this - that Gil seems like far more of a jerk than you've envisioned, but he's a figure who keeps popping up to redirect Jim and Pam to where they need to be.)

This exchange tells you a lot without having to go on and on - and I especially liked Gil stepping lightly around the details of his own life. Tells you a lot about his relationship with Oscar.

Are you still writing for other fandoms, or have you left the fanfic world behind sometime in the last, you know, decade or so?

I loved doing these little bits with the Office supporting characters -- without all the canon and expectations, I could really play around. And I also enjoyed paring away at my original drafts until I found the heart of the story.

I haven't written for any other fandoms, except a little bit of a thing I wrote for Schitt's Creek that was just post-long. I enjoy writing, but it was a different time in my life.

  And I appreciate your reviews, and have loved re-reading these stories! I haven't revisited them in so long!

This description of what Pam is like when the two of them on their own (And Pam had been wiggling even still because she was, for some reason, extremely hyper that night. She was always sort of that way whenever Roy wasn’t around. Whenever it was just the two of them. And he can remember the vibration of her laughter through his entire body and how she’d slid around in her bowling shoes) has always really stuck with me.

WHOA. Did not see that coming. Given Meredith's substance abuse problems, Creed's clear memory issues and canonical attraction to redheads, and the lack of backstory for each of them, seems disturbingly possible.

A tip of that to you - on an archive with 4500 stories you've created something plausible and genuinely unique.

OUCH. But I love the juxtaposition of Pam's fantasies and the cold reality she's refused to acknowledge, and the wedding v. Casino Night/man she tells herself she loves v. man she really loves parallels. It's really well constructed.

Ooooof. This is brutal for Roy (although really, there are some valuable lessons to be learned here if he's serious about the blonde). But a very cute AU. The detail of Jim remembering the conversation exactly makes sense, and I love to see that Jim is still paying that much attention (the Cobb salad!) a year later.

Very AU! Jim in Australia, engaged at Chili's! But I do remember working hard on this one to strike that balance between cute JAM-fluff and the cold-blooded torture of poor Roy. Heh.

This is sweet, and feels very in character for Phyllis - she always seemed both fond of Jim and a little more enthusiastic about their pranks then the rest of the office.

Author's Response: Aw, thanks! I'm sorry I'm so late with the reply -- I've been SWAMPED with political emails, and this review notice fell down where I couldn't see it. Yes, I imagine Phyllis enjoyed watching this romance bloom!
