Out of the Fog is so great and this one chapter of The Receptionist is definitely the start of something amazing!
Oh man, this is so good! That scene in Niagara is one of my very very favorite scenes of the show. It's just so superbly acted, so convincing.
This piece is a wonderful compliment to Jim and Pam in that moment. Very nicely done.

I am a huge fan of the Dwight/Pam friendship, it is just so adorable but so unlikely considering jims role in their lives. It's also so rarely written in fic so a huge thank you for that!

I'm so happy to see in your review response that you have more planned. Pam having this information and not doing anything until the beach... And all the S3 events still happening? I just couldn't imagine It. I definitely think Dwight wouldn't have given up on her, he'd figure something out.

I can't tell you how much I value a comment like this. Detailed, specific, and concrete. The Dwight and Pam friendship is probably my favorite platonic relationship in the show, and I couldn't resist writing this. I'm so glad I'm not alone--there seem to be a lot of others, including yourself, that really enjoy Dwight and Pam's friendship, so it's been a pleasure to fangirl a little bit over that. :)
I definitely still plan to continue this--just another two parts to make a short three-part series--but my larger fic ("Invincible Summer") has taken over at the moment. But I still plan to come back to this one and finish it. :) I have it all mapped out and outlined, so it will happen.

Im team!pam all the way and seeing her so heartbroken through S3 is very difficult for me. I like a little angst but the writers sure gave her a hard time, and it seems to go on forever!
Scenario one was painful for me and I was left feeling very confused about Jim. Was this supposed to be an alt route to canon? With the same ending as S3?
Scenario two was fun for me, I loved getting to read both POVs. Pam was very pam in this. Ready to back off and give up knowing he had found someone else and just bottling things up. But just enough pressure and she explodes. I like it this way... much quicker than the show. Plus I really enjoy reading a good confrontation between them.
It's very clear, to me anyway, that Jim didn't consider what he did to Pam with his CN confession and sudden transfer and then coming back with Karen. He was too wrapped up in himself... it's nice to see Pam bold enough to let him know. I really appreciate that.
This was fun! Happy Michael is so adorable you can't help but love him. Pams motherly role in their convo was a perfect reflection of their relationship.

Oh my goodness this was great! There were several moments where I had to put my iPad down because I was just laughing too much.
I really really wish there was more but not because it felt like it was unfinished but because it was just so much fun.
Like maybe an epilogue... Jim taking his time with her ;) or maybe even Kelly finding out how everything went because she started the whole thing.
Or maybe even a sequel where Jim and Pam have fun finding different ways to seduce each other in the office or other public places without anybody knowing.
Either way, I really really enjoyed this and I'm very happy that you have found MTT!

Wow- that's just wonderful. Seriously,I am so glad it made you laugh. I think I actually will add a chapter or two. I wrote the sexy parts in my head because this was going to be a lot longer. So now I'm thinking I'll just go ahead and write them and add it.
I'm very happy I found this place too. You ask have been so welcoming and supportive. It's wonderful. I watched the show when it was new and every since we got Netflix, my husband and I do a total rewatch at least twice a year. This time around even I was in season 3, I thought "Huh. I wonder if there are any Jim/Pam fan fics out there." Lol! How naive I was! So I found some on AO3 and that led me here. I'm really active in another fandom but that show is really serious and the fics are usually sad. This is a lot more fun!

Author's Response: Thanks, I'm happy to oblige! I actually was writing both stories at the same time, so they're kind of companion pieces. I reused some elements between them, but they're not strictly-speaking in the same "universe." Jim from the other story is not related to Irish Jim. But I love both Jims equally well :)

Final edit 11/11/17: Broken into shorter chapters. Now with 75% less cringe, 100% more realism, and a bit lighter on the smut than before.
1 Wow! This has got to be the longest 4 chapter fic I have ever read! And I wouldn't have minded if it had gone on to be an incredibly long 10 chapter fic. I was actually a little bummed we didn't get to read about them at the barbecue and Pam first meeting with jims family. But, damn, I *really* enjoyed every word you did write.
This ended up falling into a very small group of jam fics that when I finish reading them I instantly want to start it all over again.

Plot suggestions, hmmm... I would recommend figuring out how you want to end this and work on filling in the gaps. Your pacing suggests this isn’t going to be ending soon, if you suddenly end after their first date I would really be surprised. It feels like a story that will take us a little further than that honestly.
It’s obviously already AU but do you want it to sort of follow the shows timeline or do you have a different life in mind for them? A tentative outline is always a good idea :)
I am curious how you will have him deal with Stamford and then her reaction to all of that. Things have been going pretty smooth for them so far so maybe some difficulties could arise from that situation??

Admittedly, this is my first fanfic ever, and I didn't really have a solid plan in mind for how the story would end when I started. I obviously wanted (and still want) Jim and Pam to live happily ever after, but that was basically it. I will definitely take your suggestion and try to outline the story. I had originally thought that this fic would basically follow the show's timeline, but now that it seems Jim and Pam will get together a lot earlier than in the show, it seems that might change their future as well.
In this story, Jim isn't taking the transfer. He hadn't decided yet before he confessed his love to her in the parking lot, and then once Pam made it clear she wasn't going to marry Roy he promised her that he would stay in Scranton. But I love the idea about the two of them going through hard times. a86;
Ack I can't read chapter 4! But so far I'm enjoying your AU casino night :)
I would like to suggest when posting to MTT that you use the default color, background, and font size for your stories because we have a few different skin options to choose from and changing font color wont really work for every skin, every time.
I personally use the 27 second skin because of my migraines and eye issues but when I got to chapter 4 it was unreadable do to the custom coloring.
Anyway, I'll just switch for now because I definitely need to find out what happens next :)

Haha nope, not weird at all. I was trying to make it seem like she was so exhausted from the emotions of the day that she just fell asleep before turning off the lights, maybe didn't have the energy to get back up once she was in bed.
Anyway, thanks for reviewing! I'll try to get more chapters up soon! At this point, I'm not even sure exactly where the story is going, but I'm figuring out as I go! :)
