Author's Response: Thank you! I will try, but they seem to jump into my head pretty much fully formed so I have no idea what I'll do if/when I get writers block with it.

These last two chapters were so perfect. Both Jims and Pams thoughts and actions are spot on. I am loving how this story is progressing.

Ya know... I have been around mtt for a few years now, I have read nearly every jam fic we have...
And that ring, when mentioned, is always such a powerful symbol for both Jim and Pam.
To read it as *just a ring* for Pam is definitely something new (that I very much enjoyed) but with everything she's gone through in such a short period of time I can absolutely see how something that used to represent so much was completely overlooked and nearly forgotten.
And yet to Jim it was still practically all he could see.

Also, I love this determined Pam.

Author's Response: Thanks! Determined Pam is my favorite Pam. I'm going to give a little more of Pam's thoughts on the ring next chapter, but I do think at this point it's actually more significant to Jim because she's talked to Roy and he hasn't.

5 is a good number... gets a little chaotic a times but definitely never dull!

I was really expecting them to actually be way more out of character than they were, honestly. I don't know, I think maybe this would be more of the Pam we would have known if she hadn't been in a relationship with Roy for nearly a decade. I definitely feel this was still jam at heart.

I kept waiting for them to sneak off to one of those soundproof practice rooms so he could hear her how good she was at the oboe and then he could play his sax for her. And then, you know, maybe the soundproofing could prove useful for other things as well ;)

And bravo on those vows! I usually don't really enjoy reading vows in fic and skim pretty fast over them but these were seriously well done.

This was so much fun to read. :D

Oh, except when the Kevin part was finally explained, I literally gagged when I read that. Ew.

I love how you incorporated the card into their CIA world. And how even though it hurt, she was honest with him by saying “yes”, it would have mattered.

Darn you... you’ve managed to redeem Karen.
I think it was a wise choice to take a few chapters to ease the reader into accepting the fact that Karen wasn’t the awful wretched person we were led to believe she was in the beginning. I mostly ended up feeling about this Karen the same as I do about Canon Karen, so… well done!

I’m going to skip the big boss part, because while you definitely did a great job with it, I just really don’t like that character and he’s getting what he deserves!!

However, I freaking love your Dwight. You keep writing Jim/Pam and Dwight frenemy relationships forever and ever.

Author's Response: I'm glad I could bring this Karen around in a canon direction. I try to humanize everyone even when I don't like them myself (see: the big boss), so it's nice to know I could bring her back from being too much the "awful wretched person." And I love writing Dwight. He lets me express my inner (and let's be honest, outer) overly precise nerd.

Wow, I was not expecting boss man to actually do that! I was anticipating a completely different direction with their encounter!

And I want to write more about it but I don’t want to put spoilers in the reviews. So I’ll just say that I love these last couple chapters and I am super excited for what’s coming up. (Especially when Jim and Pam get to see each other again :D)

Whew! That last chapter was tense!

I've been curious about Pams lack of reaction towards Karen's aggression. Especially considering Pam is in charge.
I'm happy to finally see something from her, even if it was just staring.

Love the characters.
Love the story progress.
Love the update schedule!

Yeah, I think Pam's having difficulty adjusting from being half of a team, to being solo (for the 3 months Jim was in Langley) to suddenly being "in charge." She'll figure it out though ;)

Pam is, and always has been, my favorite so I cannot wait to see what she has planned!

Karen's role here is so perfect for her. She is going to be so much more trouble than on the show!
Loving your take on the challenge! And you are doing it so seamlessly, I would have never known this story was a part of it if you hadn't mentioned it.

Yeah, I figured since my Jim isn't actually interested in Karen, I needed to do something with her to keep her in that blocking role. I'm hoping it works out.
