Pam wakes up feeling not quite herself...
1 I like this--as a setup it implies both Jam and Pam/Karen inadvertent bonding, which I like. Too bad you never developed it further.
Ok, all us Jammers are happy about "The Job", and we know that in truth, it was good for Pam to "Grow a pair" (in Michael's terms) and have some time to figure stuff out on her own. But what if we just sped things up a bit? What if she gained that boldness sonner rather than later?
Spoilers through Casino Night, and (soon... when I finish...) through all of Season 3, including The Job!!! intrigued? Good. Come back soon to see the completion...
1 This is not the first time I have read this, but I want to say, involving Pam in that prank is one of my favorite moments.

Pam gets a taste of what her life could be like. AU1 Rereading this off the ebook download and I still love it. I especially like that there's no reason it can't still be canon-compliant; since Pam's glimpse is its own AU where she didn't stay WIT H Roy after Cugino's, the fact that it conflicts with later seasons' versions of their family isn't a problem.
1 It did get a little abrupt towards the end, but not too much. And the lead up was so good it didn't matter. I love the interpolating of IM and regular narrative.
This is somewhat of a departure from my last few fluffy stories. This one will be kind of dark, so be warned.
Post- The Job. Jim and Pam's new relationship is tested.

1 This has a very Harry Potter book 7 epilogue vibe to the end, but let's be clear, I'm not saying it's bad. I liked how you both set up and then moved through the plot emotionally and efficiently, and I think it's a great "what's the worst that could happen" thought experiment--except that, you know, it's not actually that awful, now is it?
Pre “The Job”… actually, pre a lot of stuff. Set sometime in Season Three, I guess.
Pam decides to take matters into her own hands.1 Well dang. This is a great start to a story.

This is a powerful ending (I mean, the Epilogue is also great but definitely an epilogue, not main story). I really like how balanced this story is, and how efficiently it's told. Thanks for digging it out of your computer and posting it (so long ago now).

1 I know this came to something like a resolution and so might count as complete, but I want to say I love it and I want more (selfishly). It's a unique time to have Pam come to her senses about Roy, and I love that it isn't belabored with explanations of why--it is just done. I like what you've done so far and I thank you for it.
Jim didn't choose Pam, and Pam didn't (really) choose Jim. Time collides and some things just kind of...happen.
Complete and total rip off of The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffeneger, which everybody and their mom should read.
AU but attempts to follow canon plotline and eventual spoilers for almost everything.
1 Well, I enjoyed the two chapters of this that exist, and if you ever want ot return and give us more I for one will cheer. I really like the Time Traveler's Wife setup, and I like Pam being the time traveler here--and more than that, I like Jim's nervousness still coming out even if from a different source this time.
Officer Barwick doesn’t get two words in. She knows what he’s come to say, deep in her heart, and her tears are halfway to her chin when he’s through. He tells her he’s sorry, but she knows it’s his job to say so. She’s sorry, too, but it’s not as if it will change anything.

While experiencing writer's block for "Grow a Pair," I thought, "what about the other moments when Pam could have "made things right" so to speak? There were plenty of times in Season 2, but for the sake of my ADD, I will limit myself to Season 3 so I won't get bored and never finish.
Basically, each chapter (or series of chapters, when stated) is a brief "what if" of episodes in S3 when Pam could've been bolder and made things right with Jim, or when Jim could've made one different choice, and kept things "open" with Pam.
1 So this was written 10 years ago, and because of its episodic nature it's fundamentally complete as is. But I really wanted to say both how much I enjoyed it and how impressive it is that it stays largely plausible throughout. So just here to give it a bit of a bump and say "thank you" for writing it.
1 This is darling, and I want it to be canon, which surprises me because I usually hate Pam-Jim breakup fics. Great job with the characters.

Hey, just thought you'd like to know: I taught a fanfiction course this last semester and this was the first fic on the syllabus (and they all loved it).
What if Pam had gone along with Michael and Dwight to the convention? Was she ready to see Jim? Was Jim ready to face Pam?1 I've read this several times and it remains a pure delight. I love the AU flavor, and it's one of the few fics I actually like that has the camera free without being explicitly super meta.
Jim and Pam have 24 hours together before he leaves for Stamford. A lot can happen when you're on borrowed time.1 Well this is delightful. I can see why it's technically unfinished (you owe us another hour! Just kidding) but you did get to the key point. And it is a really amazing combination of completely original material and references to the show. Wonderful work.
Karen gives Pam props for the last year. I desperately need these two to have a friendly parting, so this is me fulfilling my own wish.
