This is so sweet! I love the little “role reversal” of Pam not being such a goody good. The Kissing Bench brings back so many memories 😂

Oh, HELL yes. I love a good, angsty, years later meetup. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it done with kids involved, so I’m excited to see where this goes!

Reviewing a story which I’m an author on is okay because it’s not my chapter, right? Because DC GIRL. YOU DID THAT. Holy schniekes. I could totally see this power struggle happening in Pam. Wanting what she can’t have, and then like a “What if I’m with both of them? Would he want me then?” I’m heartbroken over a threesome. You did that. Patiently waiting for a part two where she and Jim don’t watch Sports Center.

Also. GIVE IT UP FOR THE POPPING OF THE SMUT CHERRY BECAUSE IT WAS DOPE.

It makes me sad that you don’t write more, but then I suppose it makes me appreciate every little nugget that we get from you :)
I love how sweet this is. That even after two kids and a lifetime of happiness, Pam still finds the need to pull Jim into a closet because once upon a time she couldn’t. This was great! :)

Author's Response: Thank you! I do write pretty frequently, but less and less so for The Office. I've fallen a little out of love with the show which means that I'm probably due for a rewatch :)

Summary:

It's 1995 and 16 year old Pam thinks she has everything figured out. All she wants is to be an artist, find a nice boy to fall in love with, and continue to think that everything happens for a reason.

The summer after her 16th birthday everything comes crashing down. Pam's life as she knew it begins to change. The perfect cocoon of a life she had originally had begins to crumble.

Okay so like. Do you write movies? TV scripts maybe??? That’s really the only explanation. Because this is SO GOOD. And it’s only the first chapter. Holy crap. I am STOKED to see what happens in the rest of this world. I have a feeling I’m going to run out of jelly beans way too early.

Author's Response: Haha your comment made me smile, thank you. This is my first venture into fiction writing so your words are very encouraging, especially since I have most of yours favorited.:P Thank you so much for reading!

Ugh. Again I say, your writing is so effortlessly brilliant. Seriously. This is blowing my mind. I’m so excited to see what what this world does to the characters we love. Can’t wait for more!

Author's Response: Thank you so much. I'm thrilled you are loving it. I have always been drawn to this genre and wanted to explore how Jim and Pam change and respond when modern civility and culture is gone. Thanks for commenting!

This story continues to keep me on edge. It’s like watching The Walking Dead when it first came out. I know to expect the death and that characters I love will suffer, but it’s SO. GOOD. Ugh. I’m terrified to see what Mac does next. But honestly—Jim getting mega-strength after Pam was taken? Nice touch.

Author's Response: Yes! I am sucker for Protective!Jim, if that wasn't already clear and love to see that part of his character come out. Thank you!

OOF. Lol.
I love me some protective Jim though. I have this bad feeling like bad weather is going to bring bad things for this little fortress. Ugh. This is so good.

Your imagery just stuns me more and more with each chapter. I was IN Tent City (not that it's a place I'd ever want to be, but you get the point). You just put so much thought and intricate detail into this world. I love it. Which is weird given the circumstances. Also please don't kill Brian. I heart him.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Your words mean more than you know. I'm glad the mood, tone and imagery is coming across well. I've always loved fics that have totally sucked me in and left me thinking. At the risk of spoiling something, I big puffy heart Brian. That's all I will say. ;)

Go back and read the first paragraph and tell me it wasn't meant to GOUGE MY SOUL. And then the "Come back to me James Halpert?"

Ugh. you're so f'ing GOOD.

(on the plus side. Brian + Isabel. He DESERVES HAPPINESS).

Author's Response:

Ha! Well, I guess my secret intention to write soul gouging content was successful. ;)

Oh Brian. He has found his 'Pam' and we are all here for it.

Reviewer: agian18 Signed 1

Okay so. Toby needed to go. I'm wary of everything that's happening with Mac, and I'm not sure I like Jim threatening him, especially if maybe possibly they might be able to trade and coexist for a little while. But Toby needed to go.

This is my once a chapter swoon over Isabel and Brian. She wants him to fix her chair. You do realize that they are like the "10% Jim and Pam per episode" and I am HERE FOR IT.

"With practiced ease, there was no space between them to define where one ended and the other began; just the existence of them. Singular." A lot of lines stood out to me in this chapter, but this one just really reminded me that at the very core of this story, there is a them.

Jim identifying and admitting that Pam is stronger and braver than him? And watching him struggle with potentially losing her, and not wanting to be the leader anymore? My heart is breaking.

And then you named the baby Jack and it HEALED MY SOUL. Wow. Okay This chapter was a RIDE.

Author's Response:

Oh, I could go write a chapter on Isabel and Brian alone but I restraining myself, and just sprinkling it in.

I'm glad you are seeing that message of Jim and Pam being one unit throughout, as it truly is a central theme. Even the goose story, of one not being able to exist without the other, is a nod to that.

The baby just HAD TO be Jack, right? ;)

Okay so. BrIsabelle first.
The "we." OKAY. I SEE YOU. Damn.
"She was beautiful and he was afraid to move." When I SAY I CRIED--
I just love that she feels comfortable enough to kind of open up around him, and that he is one-thousand-percent letting her take the lead. I just. Ugh.

(Also. I know you said that you'd like to do an entire chapter about them but you're holding back, and I'm just here to remind you that there's an *entire* Karen chapter in HMOH, so like. It's possible...winkwink).

"I just want you to be safe. I can't lose you." Wow MERRY CHRISTMAS I'M CRYING AGAIN.
Listen. Their little Christmas gifts? Jim saying that Jack is his present? This is Solid!Jam. Gah.

Oh. Wow. Angry-Big-Brother-Jim. Go off! I can see where they're both coming from. It's interesting to see Mike still not budging when Jim asks him what he would do if someone came after Larisa, which makes me a little scared for her future...

Author's Response:

You know, I just might add a bit more Brisabelle in the upcoming chapters, more than I had planned, because I just adore them so much.

Thanks for the review, AG, they always make me smile. ;)

Oh wow. I was so hoping for a happy ending. But this was so good. So raw and heartbreaking. I can definitely see something like this happening in the show!

“No, he had no right to love me the way that he did, because it made it completely impossible to stop loving him right back.”

That. That killed me.
Please write more!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, this means a lot!! I'm all for happy endings when it comes to Jam, but who doesn't love a little angst every now and then? So, I typically don't read any type of historical fiction. It's never been my style. But your writing has me wanting to do a deep dive in the Civil War. I'm SO excited for another story! Your writing is phenomenal! Also, Jim calling Roy ball-less was just delicious.
