Ah. You did the thing where you say the title in the story. Am I berating myself silently for only just understanding it now? Maybe.
This was so sweet! I love that Pam sees the kiss as more of something to break her than the shower (because the shower almost broke me, chick, let me tell ya).
I also loved all of the little callbacks to the show. “The Paper Salesman.” I will laugh about that one for a long, long time...

Also. This is super random, but one of my favorite parts of this story is that you dress them in immense detail. Is it weird that I picture a Jim and Pam paper doll as I read those parts?

Oh wow. That was intense. But let me saw that what you did was real and raw and very well done. Pam being up in her head through shock, and then having a snap into reality and needing to be out of the clothes, and Jim helping her through the panic attack was very powerful. It takes a lot of courage to write something like this, and you did an excellent job! I can’t wait to see how they overcome.

Oooo you know what I liked here? Even though Pam got upset and left the party, she told Jim right away what was bugging her instead of tucking it away. See, your story is this interesting kind of AU where we’re not wrestling with “oh, poor Jim and Pam who can’t speak their mind” and I like that. I also love the way you have the rest of the ensemble set up. I typically *don’t* like it when Jam stories have ensemble elements, because, well, I’m here for Jam, but you do it it so well, and it’s so entertaining and on point that I love it! Keep it up! It was a classic “oops we fell asleep and now we’re cuddling” but, but I love how you did it—all clothes, and Pam actually jumping out of bed before Jim had a chance to realize it. I thrive on conflict 😬 I love how you’ve been incorporating little lines from the show, but in tour own context. I see a lot of authors try this and it just seems forced or way too cheesy, but you’ve done it seamlessly. I also liked when Pam realized that she might be overreacting. And making the first move! I like modern day Beesly. I can’t wait to see how Jim digs his way out of this one!

Oh wow. I LOVE how introspective Pam is being. So rarely do we actually get to see how she processed Jim being gone, more so it’s usually, “Pam got a new apartment and was sad, OOOO JIM SHOWED UP ON THE FRONT STEP!” so this is great. I love the bit in there that you have about how she doesn’t want to overthink the song choices on the CD, too. And taking his handset? Wow. I LOVED that move. So much. Can’t wait to see more!

I know that I constantly praise your brilliance, so you should honestly be expecting this. You write Jim and Pam so well, and each of your stories gives them their own little quirks. Aside from the fact that all of the sexy parts of your story are always beautifully and masterfully written, the characters are what I fall in love with. I think one of my favorite parts of this was when Pam reached out to Jim after watching the scary movie. Just the fact that they need each other, above all of the silly bets going on. Ugh. Coley.
