I LOVE the line about Pam and Roy being held together by string, duct tape and obligation. Stupid Roy.

I also really liked the guys bonding over alcohol and their trying to help Jim with what to do - you don't see that a lot and it was definitely a nice touch!

Can't wait to see what happens next!

Summary: It's 1963 and West Scranton High's new math teacher Jim Halpert has a secret. When it rears its ugly head and puts both him and librarian Pam Beesly in danger, how will he react? Will they be able to outrun his dangerous past or will his enemies catch up to him, once and for all?

First off, I love how perfectly suited these people are for the school jobs you've given them, right down to Kelly and Erin being schoolgirls. That seems right.

I'm a big fan of this particular period of time and an even bigger fan of the idea of the Math Teacher and the Librarian, so I can't wait to see what's going to happen in this story!

Author's Response: Thank you! I actually consulted my husband—“what class do you think Dwight Schrute would teach if he taught high school?” I’m so glad you think they all fit! I love this time period, too, and I’m so excited to see them in it!

See ya, Roy. What a jerk. (sidenote: my grandma was an Avon lady when I was little and I had so many of those lipstick samples and had forgotten all about them until you mentioned them here. That detail made me smile, even if Roy was being a dirty cheater.)

This chapter is so well done! I loved how time passed through the first semester and into the second and how we got to see the little moments that are bringing Jim and Pam closer together. The tie-ins to the show are lovely, and I am 100% supportive of them using vocabulary words to flirt with each other.

Author's Response: I’m so glad the Avon sample lipsticks brought back a happy memory! I had a ton of those too, as a kid. And yeah, bye Roy. I’m glad you brought up the tie ins! I had fun working those in. And I have to say, I was so proud of myself with the word of the day flirting. It’s maybe my favorite part about this chapter. I hope you keep enjoying!

When I said I wanted them to keep flirting with big words, I didn't realize that Jim would literally protect her by using the dictionary as a weapon. Amazing.

I like this Jim, BT. I like him a lot.

Author's Response: ;) Me too.

Oh, I’m so glad you’re back! True story- as I started reading this chapter and before I figured out it was a nightmare, I thought ‘did BT forget that Pal was shot? Why are they in the library again?’ I’ll never doubt you again, lady. This was a great chapter to ease back into the story with, but mostly, I just really appreciate that even while injured, panicked, and disoriented, Pam still knows enough to take a few minutes to check out Jim at the phone booth. Love that for them. And me.

I really love the way you describe the cabin because I can see it perfectly in my head and it’s very cozy and good. Even better that it’s Jim’s family’s place.

Oh. Oh man. They’re stuck in this cabin alone for a week? And Jim has to help Pam undress and shower? Be still my trope loving heart. This is everything we could ask for!

Please don’t disappear on that cliffhanger! ;)

Author's Response: Thanks for mentioning the cabin description as one of the parts you enjoyed! I love a good descriptive paragraph about a character’s surroundings. It makes it seem more real inside my head. I also love a good trope! I hope to mix it up some later, probably also with some more tropes, haha! And I can promise no extended waits for cliffhanger resolutions. Thanks so much Coley!

Oh, BT. I've missed your writing so much. Are you sure you aren't the third member of Subtle Sexuality?

Jim cutting her out of her clothes was a scene I did not know I needed in my life, but I'm here for it. And then the whole shower scene itself? It's fine. I'm fine. And on top of the Desire That Shall Not Be Named, you've got poor Jim and his guilt and his need to make everything better for her and I just really appreciate all of it and I'm too excited to get to the next chapter to say anymore.

Jim stayed in the bathroom for a very long time. I bet he did.

Author's Response: Thanks for leaving a review on both chapters! And I’m glad you are totally fine after the shower scene 😉 I think in chapters soon to come things maybe won’t be so subtle...stay tuned!

"You serve, if you don’t mind,” she requested. “I managed a can opener with my left hand, but I don’t trust my ability to ladle.”" I don't know why, but this sentence made me laugh.

I love the entire backstory you've created for Jim. It's so rich in details, and real, and it makes sense that he would end up where he is now.

"I like that job." I was so busy swooning over that moment that I almost missed the part where you brought in the name of this story as dialogue and I love it all so much, because now I just want to sit around and solve puzzles with Jim.

And then you brought in the dialogue from Casino Night and this entire chapter is so damn good, I keep going back and rereading sections I've just read.

So looking forward to the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you so much, Coley! The ladle line also made me laugh so I’m glad someone else thinks it’s funny! And I appreciate the comments on Jim’s backstory. I have worried that it would read as being too “out there” or not believable, so I’m happy to see that that’s not the case! I hope you continue to enjoy it!

"No ma'am."

That's it. That's my favorite sentence in this entire chapter.

I'll be back with real reviews later but I felt that needed to be called out right now.

Author's Response: Right? Same. I can hear it in my head and *swoon*

Well, I don’t know anything about Jack Ryan and all I know about AQP is what Wikipedia tells me but I do know that this was pretty dang great.

The code names were brilliantly fitting. As was the two of them on an art heist of sorts.

Love that when they can finally speak, they’re quick to find an *ahem* better use of their time.

This was great. It’s not my usual genre but I was captivated all the way through.

Author's Response: Thanks! I just woke up with all of this swimming around in my brain and had to write it up, so I'm glad it worked for you (especially if it's not your usual fare).

Ugh. Cathy. You were never going to get Jim.

This was fantastic! I love, love, love how devious Jim was with having Pam on the phone and I was silently cheering as first he, and then Pam, put Cathy firmly in her place by proving she didn't know a single thing about him.

Pam was far too kind to her at the end but I think I liked it! It showed just how secure she is in her marriage and knows she has nothing to worry about and that's when Jim and Pam are at their best!

Author's Response: There's the deleted scene where Jim is on the phone with Pam, while Cathy is still in the room. Pam is gently teasing Jim so from that interaction I surmised Pam wouldn't get the claws out right away. Had Cathy tried anything else though, Pam would have been on the first plane down I assure you. I fully agree that one will have a hard time trying to break something as solid as Jim and Pam at their best. Thanks for the feedback.

Summary: AU. Pam moves from Scranton to Philly because she scored a new job at a new rising company called Athlead! While out one night celebrating in Philly Pam decides to let lose and enjoy herself only to realize the next day that was with her new boss, President and CEO Jim Halpert.

I like this new setting instead Dundler Mifflin... This is about to get good and awkward isn't it?

Ugh, Pam is having a DAY here isn't she? Roy's smarmy note to her apartment being broken into? Poor girl. Good thing she's got Jim there to step in and take care of her for a bit now.

Can't wait to see what happens next!

Author's Response: It's coming! Finally broke through my rut, new and long chapter with be updated tonight!!!

Oh, I do not like Mean Girl Karen here... what is she trying to pull?

I DO like that instead of freaking out too much about it, Pam did the adult thing and actually talked to Jim about it right away... that was unexpected in the best of ways... especially since it led to that moment on the desk.

I can't wait to see what happens next!

Author's Response: Screw karen haha thanks fro reviewing and sticking around! :):):):):)

“Ryan’s a tool.” I loved that they both thought that.

Uh-oh... Darryl’s getting suspicious. Andy’s being Andy, and well... Karen and Roy can both go jump off a cliff. Things are getting good!

Aw, he just wanted to see her! Love it.

Author's Response: Right?!?!?! RIGHT?!?!?!? THANKS FOR COMMENTING! Means a bunch :):):):)

THEY'RE DATING. SECRETLY DATING.

I'm a tad excited. AND we're getting a karaoke night out with the office? MC, you're too good to us.

Stay sane during the next couple of weeks! Drink all the wine and take all the naps -- I feel like you'll have earned it.

Author's Response: OMG HIIIIII I love your story!!!! Thank you so so so so much for ready and reviewing!!! It means so so much and I just absolutely adore you!

Ugh Roy. Do. Not. Like. I mean, I'm glad for Pam and this opportunity, but I don't want Roy anywhere near her. Nope.

What I do like is that as the day went on, Pam thawed out a little and wasn't so mad at Jim. And what I loved is that ending... get it, Sober Jim.

Oh man... Canadian Roy is slick, I'll give him that much. Don't fall for it, Pam.

Okay, I thought that the flashback to Jim and Pam's coffee not-date was adorable but then, THEN I got to the last scene. And that last line. And now I'm screaming.

That's what big ass glasses of beer will do to you, Jimbo.

Toby looked uncomfortable to be alive. That's the best line I've read all night. Amazing.

The banter between Jim and Pam is really great and I love that they've managed to find a way to work easily together. And don't think I didn't see you slip Roy Anderson into this story and TWO Niagara callbacks...

Aww, poor Pam! I have to imagine that would be a pretty difficult conversation to have with your husband. Especially at work. Especially while sitting next to Dwight.
