“And she needed him to know that the kiss was what convinced her that it was real. If his words had jolted her heart, his kiss had lit her on fire, body and soul. And it was terrifying.” SPRINKLES! This is my favorite line I’ve read in a story in a very long time. I love it so much!

Another great chapter - I love how even when they’re fighting, they’re still so very much feeling the same things as the other.

Author's Response: I have to confess that when my husband and I got together it was a similar situation to the Jim/Pam/Roy triangle. I've dug into the dusty archives in my mind to remember how it felt and write that here. I'm so glad it resonates. Thank you for the feedback!

This was so great! I love that they were able to start this conversation and actually express their thoughts without any interruptions or drama or even just their own fears getting in the way.

I like this Pam. I like her a lot.

Aww, look at them being adults and working things out! They totally deserve a do-over. Can't wait to see what happens on their date!

Well, I couldn't stop smiling this entire chapter. They're on a date! They're so happy and flirty and sweet and sexy!

You're killing me! A parking lot do-over? I love that a lot. I love that they're still continuing to be honest with each other and getting everything out in the open.

SO here's what I like about this chapter -- you briefly touched on how Jim thought Pam would be much shyer or tentative with him and then having her not be... It's so easy to go the other way with this that I really enjoy when I see a more assertive, going-after-what-she-wants Pam. I mean, after Beach Games, we knew she was a badass, right?

Your descriptions are so vivid, I could actually picture the tree scene in my head. You're really great at this, Sprinkles! :)

Ah! Somehow I missed this update when it was posted and I'm so sorry for not getting to it sooner.

This was such a fantastic story! I loved every second of reading it and I can't wait to see what else you come up with :) Because you ARE going to write more, right? Right?

Author's Response: Aw, thank you! I'm glad you liked it. Yes, I just put up another story tonight. I started running this fall, and in order to distract myself from the pain of running I think up JAM stories. :-)

Summary:

Pam, Dwight and company scramble to uncover what happened to Jim, while Jim engages in mind games with his reluctant but unstable captor in hopes of being found alive.

Oh man! I did NOT see that twist coming but let me tell you, I am here for this!

It feels weird to say "this is a fun new take on our favorite characters?" like kidnapping and attempted murder are "fun" topics but you know what? This is a fun new read and I'm very intrigued! I love the characters you've brought in and given something to do so far - they all fit really naturally.

"I obviously have some anger issues" made me chuckle.. great line right there. I can't wait to see what you do with this :)

Author's Response: Thanks! I've been playing with a believable progression of the plot and more serious versions of these characters that DON'T feel ridiculous in my head for a few days now. I have a pretty good idea of where I'm going with this, can't wait for more feedback :)

Whoa, this went dark. And yet, this is exactly how I could see Gabe behaving and talking to Jim.

That whole scene in the bathroom was intense, and when Jim still was thinking about his family before passing out.. ugh, that got me.

Sounds like it's going to be a long weekend for Jim...

Oh not cool, Gabe. Trying to frame Dwight? This can't work out well for him.

As I was reading the previous chapters and up until now, I wondered if Erin would be the one to find Jim. At first, I thought she'd see the photos and recognize Gabe's bathroom, or the shower curtain, or something... but this was SO much better. She actually found Jim.

Hopefully help gets there in time. I don't think I can handle Jim getting any more hurt here!

Aww, I liked this a lot! I would have liked to have seen more of the "Jim's a great dad" moments on the show, so this was really nice to read. That little girl has him whipped and I'm totally fine with that.

The fairy-tale was fantastic! Definitely creative, and I was laughing a lot at Schrutey, Angeltin and Kel-Kel - they were so perfectly characterized. And of course, the teapot note. Is it even Christmas without that? ;)

Author's Response: Thank you. I'm pretty proud of this one considering I basically changed up the plot line while laying in bed one night. It was a lot of fun to write and I glad it came across well. Transposing our favorite characters into a new setting while still keeping them recognizable was a fun little project as well. Glad you liked it so much.

Summary:

Jim and Pam, Hallmark(tm) movie style. Set in the S2 Christmas break (after the Christmas party, before the Booze Cruise). Canon-compliant until then, though with my own interpretation of how that break went, but it's a Hallmark Christmas movie so we all know how it's going to end.

For the 2018 Secret Santa fiction exchange.

First things first: Thank you for getting Good King Wenceslas stuck in my head. That'll be later at 2am ;)

I love this a lot already... Dunder-Mifflin seems like the perfect setting for a Hallmark Christmas movie type story (some of my favorites, by the way) and I'm already sucked into this one.

Some highlights: Ugh, Roy. I say it every time, but you know I'm going to say it again - He's the worst. Of course he took the vacation with Kenny. And of course Michael took away their week off. This is such a great set up, I can't wait to see what happens next! But mostly, I'm just giggling at Creed wishing Pam a Happy Canada Day while wearing a reindeer sweater. Perfect.

Author's Response:

I hope the 2am demons of Good King Wenceslas did not strike you. I spent a summer (odd time for the song I admit) singing that song back and forth with my fellow camp counselors to the eternal frustration of our charges...good times.

Thank you for the feedback! This whole thing was a blast to write, but the opening in particular because I got to think about what Hallmark-style terrible-boyfriend actions Roy could have taken within the Office universe.

"wearing the dead bodies of its friends" got me good. So great!

*spots tree sap, grins knowingly*

Glad that Jim made it back to the office, and that it's Ugly Sweater Party day! Maybe Pam can stop hitting her head against the desk now.

Author's Response: *Grins* That one was a lot of fun to incorporate...

Dwight is a delightful background character in these first few chapters!

Oh Pam, don't get mad at Jim. I mean, your fiance sucks anyways, we all know it's true.

Michael's sweater - is it bad that I want one? Because I do. It sounds amazing.

Author's Response: Dwight-as-background is a lot of fun to write. And Michael-as-Michael too. Though fortunately the genre of the Hallmark movie meant that they could do their work and then I didn't have to sustain them too long...

This chapter. It's SO GOOD. It says so much, and I'm feeling sad for Pam all over again. That first paragraph was so well done.

Not even mad Michael won the contest. *shrugs* AND I really laughed out loud at the paper ream prank. That's gold.

Stupid Roy. Stupid Kenny. They deserve each other.

Listen, I've watched a lot of Hallmark movies... Jim's going to be there skating right? He's totally going to be there skating.

Author's Response: I'm glad someone else is genre savvy in this genre--I strongly considered the possibility that Jim would be there. But I'm even more glad I tricked you...

Okay, wow. I called that one wrong. But this is one of those rare occurrences where I'm okay with being wrong because this Katy tornado was an unexpected delight.

A Bob Ross shout out? I'm so glad that you're back to writing, this is so much fun to read!

Author's Response: ...and this is why I'm glad I tricked you. I'm glad this is as fun for you to read as for me to write! This was a great way to get the mojo of writing back.

I wish you could have seen my face when I read the line where Roy called Pam petty. I was cheering pretty hard when she told him he was over it. Finally!

Hmm... who's hand could that be in the picture with her? I wonder.

Author's Response:

Who knows! It's a mystery.

Thanks for noticing these small touches.

Like Pam, I'm a huge fan of making checklists and checking things off of them, so I love this chapter.

I also didn't know I needed the image of Jim making a snow angel in the YMCA parking lot, but I did, and I'm glad that it's there now.

I'm out of jellybeans, but I'd give you 2 for this chapter if I could.

Author's Response:

Organized!Pam is my favorite Pam to write. Not that she is it very much, but when she is it's great. Much like Whimsical!Jim, but that one is more common.

And thanks! I appreciate the sentiment. :)

"She tapped her fingers on the counter. “I suppose you’re right.” He looked ever more confused. “I mean, there was dancing—when you tried to open the car door, which was very sweet, but completely unnecessary. And there’s music,” she gestured towards the jukebox, which was gamely pumping out a rock-and-roll version of “Silent Night,” “that’s two out of three. Though I suppose we haven’t eaten yet, so…you’re right, this isn’t a date.” She picked up her menu and hid behind it in order to give herself a moment to marvel at her own boldness. “So, what’s good here…”" COMFECT! Have I mentioned its good to have you back? It's good to have you back.

Tina's great, she makes me laugh. And oh Jim, he's just talking to everybody about Pam, isn't he? Poor guy's got it bad.

Can you tell I'm enjoying this? Because I am.

Author's Response:

Really, you think Jim has it bad for Pam? Whatever gave you that impression? :)

Thank you! It's good to be back.

I can picture Jim pulling out a giant ball of tinsel and just casually handing it to Pam perfectly. I love that.

Oh. My. God. You nailed everything about this. Seriously, it's so great!

Can that officially be what The Letter said? It's perfect.

Also, it's a small thing but I really enjoyed how Jim just hands her the letter and then goes about with the prank and it's all very casual but it's Not. Not even a little bit. I'm glad he didn't fall off that ladder.

This was such a lovely, definitely Hallmark-inspired, Christmas story! You did good, Comfect. You did real good.

Author's Response: I really, really enjoyed writing this chapter (and this fic) and I'm so glad that it struck the same chord with you. Thanks so much for reading!

Oof, this one stings a little - I can't imagine what it would have been like to get a card from Pam and Roy and not immediately throw it in the trash just because Roy's name was on it.

Hang on to that other card, Jim.

Author's Response: Sorry for the sting! I have always loved thinking about those evening/weekend/morning hours when they have to mentally process the episode (or, workday, ha) just like we do. I do torture Jim a bit here. I’m glad you kept going!
