Bio:

The Office helped me laugh through a really difficult time in my life and change some things about myself, inspired by the character Pam's transformation.  Thanks to all the authors here for continuing the story!

While I don't plan to write, I so enjoy  reading what the authors here create.

Set in Season 3, immediately following "The Convict," wherein Jim gave Andy false information to woo Pam. Pam surprises everyone, however, by agreeing to go out with Andy. Unbeknownst to Jim, Pam is seeking revenge against him for his brilliant prank. But will Pam take things too far? Will the turntables?

AU bit of romance, humor, and maybe a little angst.  Rated M for adult language and situations.

Ok, Jim's dream made me laugh a little here! Much needed with the upcoming tension!
Pam's pretty forgiving here, Karen is pretty sly, Jim's a deer in the headlights and Andy ends up saving the day (I think). Lots of twists and turns. Thanks for that little bit of stairwell fluff to keep me going! ;)

Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, this is definitely a roller coaster, but I'm glad it's keeping you interested. Chapter 6 is up now. Hope to see you back here :)

I like these bits of humor that you sprinkle into this angsty piece "classics hour on Qantas " "CHEAPOAIR" and your nods to Mozilla and Firefox... keeps it from getting too heavy.
But this line "He smiled a pained apology and tried his best to suffer in silence. Which, he reflected, was what he was best at."
Poor Jim!
Looking forward to the updates!
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you! I think this is an angsty moment, but that means we have a responsibility to keep it a little more upbeat.

First off, I am loving these quick updates!
I've always wondered what would have happened if she had gone after him, now I am finding out!
Their thoughts never really leave each other. I like the anticipation that the back and forth between characters and the long flight are building. Also, having them both as the sole characters works perfectly here.
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm honored to be your concierge on this exploration of possibility. And yes, it does help that I only need to write the two of them because I slimmed down my cast.

Yes! Another update! Surprisingly, I'm not minding the shorter chapters and the length of time it is taking for them to meet up (which I'm assuming they will, but you never know... :) ). It's keeping me hooked and mimics the pace of travel in a way... the stop and go rush and wait through airports that I've experienced. Nice job!
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: This is kind of my M.O.: short chapters updated quickly. They will meet up, I'll say, but thanks for identifying exactly the effect I was going for with the travel thing. I hope you keep feeling that I've stayed true to that sensation!

Oh, what ARE they going to say/do? It's the journey, not just the destination that's to be enjoyed, right? (Maybe not yet for Jim and Pam...)
I'm enjoying the journey!
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the journey; I do hope you'll enjoy the destination too.

Glad they're both on the same continent now! I'm eager to see how Pam tracks him down, or if that happens at all. She's going to have to be more assertive and confident to pull this one off, I think!
This has been really fun to read!
Thanks for writing (and glad you're on the mend! )!

Author's Response: Thank you! And she will, but not necessarily all that quickly...

This line: "Eventually the light failed, and he made his way back to the hostel, focusing more carefully this time on the landmarks so he wouldn’t get lost again." So resigned and so melancholy... he still feels lost inside. Nice job with words there...

I'm glad to see Pam doing a little something for herself here and getting out of the rut of pleasing everyone else. That makes me happy.
Hopefully, soon, they'll both find there way to each other. I'm enjoying the journey.
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Aw, thank you! I really appreciate the kind words.

Yes, yes, yes. So glad to see Jim is processing what happened and why Pam reacted the way she did.
Halpert Helper?! So cute. Sounds like something Pam for sure would have done.
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you! More coming now!

What?! Yes! So excited - not the path I thought this would take but better. I like how you've tied the drawing of the Sydney Opera House from earlier into this chapter as well as giving us Pam's perspective and feelings attached to her art. Lovely.
Thanks for writing, especially during such crazy times.

Author's Response: Thank you! I really appreciate you catching the details like that, and I appreciate that you think this is better than you expected!

You know, things are really tough in the HonestAndCourageous household right now, and I was feeling really defeated until I read this... YAY! Dorky Jim waved to the public, Pam turned away from what she was holding onto and they couldn't let each other out of their sight... needless to say I'm not ready for this one to be over yet, but so excited for the next chapter.
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: I'm sorry to hear that things are tough, HAC (I'm not surprised, alas, since they're tough everywhere, but my best wishes to you in not giving in to defeat!). I'm glad this could do whatever little bit to cheer you up. Thanks for the review!

I love seeing them work through this z just the right amount of pain, and Pam being brave enough to acknowledge that and soothe it with just the right amount of humor and love. Very sweet with a dusting of dorkiness... ;)
This was my favorite:
“Beesly…” he started in for a kiss and she stopped him with her three fingers across his mouth.
“So. Three dates. This will be our fourth date.” She removed the fingers and leaned up for the kiss.
Glad to know there's more to come!
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you! I liked writing that, it's nice to hear you liked it too!

Comfect, this, all of this is just so good! No other way to say it! There hasn't been a chapter I haven't enjoyed, Jim and Pam are so in character, I can visualize the scenes you write so easily... it's just a really great story!
Thanks for writing, updating frequently and giving me something to look forward to!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm really enjoying writing it, so knowing that it's good for you to read it too really matters.

Of course Pam needs to deal with all of these feelings... she's been through quite a lot in a short time! Glad she has Jim's support. Looking forward to seeing how they work it out.
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: She's still dealing slowly though, so I'm afraid the conversation will wait a bit...but it will happen. Thanks for reading!

Giapetto?! Giapetto and Pinocchio is a perfect metaphor for how Michael views his relationship with Ryan!
Good to see Jim and Pam collaborating again, and this time for the benefit of their relationship together. Love their last two comments to each other. I'm never disappointed when I read an update on this story! Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you! I thought it was apt too :)

Absolutely, I am (still enjoying this)! In reply to your note! I'm glad it's not ending yet, and I'm having a good time meandering around Sydney with these two!
As always, their dialogue is spot on. I feel as if we are getting to see so much of who they are off camera that we didn't get to see in the show, eventhough none of this happened in the series.
I also am totally out of jellybeans (have been for a long time), but I keep clicking that box just in case, because you deserve them!

Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you find this realistic, because I was a bit worried it would seem too much too soon.

I've finally caught up (again) with this story- five or so chapters I think!
Now that things have fallen into place, it fun to tour Sydney with these two and have them enjoying their own interests and each others. I especially liked that Jim is into classical in the last chapter and how Pam described her experience. Reminds me of how Kandinsky approached art.
As always, this is great and such a nice escape when trapped at home!
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Glad you're caught up! I'm glad you're enjoying the little details as well as the big sweep of the story, and thanks!

First off, I'm so glad these two got a "re do" of their time on the boat. Very sweet.
Second, koalas are so strange. But I enjoyed learning about them. I really feel like I'm going on a tour of Sydney here! Thanks for writing and the virtual tour with two of my favorite characters!

Author's Response: Thank you! That is one of my goals, really glad it's coming through.

This:
"Instead they found themselves eating street food again under the stars by the Anzac Memorial, trading quips and thoughts about the day and just generally enjoying each others’ company. This was what she’d wanted, she thought, from a real adult relationship. Not just the sex (though she was not adverse to heading back to the hostel soon); not just the kisses (though the boat had been a very good idea); not just someone who loved and supported her (though Jim did and it was like breathing after too long underwater), but a relationship where she could be entirely herself and be sure that the other person was being himself too."
If you find yourself with someone like this, stop what you are doing and marry that someone!
Such a sweet summary of who what these two are to each other, in my mind. Nice job capturing it in words.
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you! That is how I feel too--so I'm glad it worked for you.

This is soooooo very Dwight:
“As you would know if you kept your ears open. A good salesman is always listening.” He creased the edge of a piece of paper for no reason Jim could see. “Always. Listening.”
The prank and the dialogue was just like Jim and Pam.
I like that the story is still continuing in the original timeline with the convention and the blind date, but with a new set of circumstances.
This story is still so fun! Glad you're continuing.
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you! I love writing Dwight in little snippets like that, so I'm glad it worked for you. I'm extra glad you're still with me for it! Thanks.

It's so much fun to look at the S3 episodes with Jim and Pam together! So much is really affected by his absence. Kinda like It's a Wonderful Life, in a way, you know?
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you! I like to think Jim in Scranton would be a great help--as you will see in these chapters. I agree--very George Bailey. Thanks!

I'm excited that we might get to see Karen and Pam as friends here! Nice change. Also nice to see Jim take charge with the arrival of the transferred employees. Hopefully he can keep Michael from forcing that poor man to get onto the table in the conference room...
Looking forward to whatever might be next!
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thank you! I think in this world Michael has slightly different thoughts about the incoming people since Jim isn't one...

Great to see Jim, Pam and Karen all on the same team as friends, yet still in character with the show.
I also like that conversation between Karen and Pam about Ryan. Muppet indeed!
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you found it in character--I worry as the AU moves on that they might drift.

Summary:

Pam calls off her wedding. Roy goes from zero to "I'm going to kill Jim Halpert" in a second.

Excited to see a new story!
For a moment there, I wasn't so sure it was going to end happily, but I'm thankful it did!
Also, this: "He just kept punching and punching until I poked him in the eye. It’s a trick I learned on the Discovery Channel - it’s how you fight off a shark.” spot on! Made me laugh!

Author's Response: That was probably my favorite line too! I love writing Michael. He’s so fun.

I’m all for happy endings - especially in fic. Thanks so much!
