Oh man, stomach cancer is not a fun time. I'm hoping that they'll be able to look back on this and be glad for the appendicitis bringing that to light. I mean, cancer overall is not a fun time, but yeah, I digress. The emotions here were really heavy and raw, you really brought them out so well.

A lot of heavy frelings in the last few chapters, but I'm glad that things are looking up. Accepting not being ok is a great first step to a more positive outlook. You continue to do a great job of painting the emotional canvas in this story.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!

Summary: When a family emergency sends Jim across state lines, Pam somehow finds herself right alongside him.

Set, once again, smack dab in the middle of season 3.

Getting some very Cardiac Care vibes here! I loved that story so this is a great start. You've done a great job setting the mood here, with Pam's morose turning quickly into selfess concern and Jim's subsequent vulnerability. Karen the conversation killer is an interesting new lense to me, I really like how you explained the lack of communication up until this point.

Looking forward to more! I mean - I already read everything I'm just coming back to review, but you know what I mean!

Happy to hear that even if Larissa isn't out of the woods things are looking up. Pam getting a nudge from Isabel was a nice touch! And creepily staring at a sleeping Jim is always a winner ;)

“I guess when stuff like this happens, it’s nice to just go back to what’s familiar,” oooh double entendre Jim! Hope he realises how that applies to Pam too.

The rendition of the beach games lines worked really well for their real talk here, well done.

I'm glad that Jim has her sticking around!

Author's Response: Love me a good double entendre! Haha thanks, DG!

Nice reversal of the diversity day nap there, I really liked that! And yes, I did forget about Karen, Im interested in seeing how she handles all of this...

Pam letting Jim reminisce about the good times with Larissa nicely rounded things out.

Author's Response: Thank you! It was for sure a callback to Diversity Day. :)

Summary: Jim's finally figured out how to get out for good.

Ok, finally catching up here, and man have you done a great job with this sequel so far. Not to disparage the original, but this is much more my speed. Karen's obvious interest in Jim compared to Pam's baby steps is an interesting juxtaposition. I cant help but hope for the moment when Karen realizes she never had a chance, I'm sure it'll be great. I'm also interested to see her surprise for Jim, especially since she'd really be showing her hand since there would be no way for her to know his favorite food than to ask Pam, so waiting to see what happens there too!

I'm glad that Pam and Jim are communicating here, not to mention going on a nondate, or was lovely.

Pam and her mom reconnecting was also lovely.

Great chapter all around, looking forward to whatever comes next.

Ps, dagnabbit mobile, big thumbs little buttons.

The ending there was a whole lot of 'aww', I loved it. I'm glad to see after their initial misunderstanding and avoidance that Jim and Pam are getting on the same page!

I hear you on the a lot going on front, I've got coursework out my yingyang with midterms coming up. Hope to see another chapter sometime, but of course take care of yourself!

Another job well done, looking forward to more.

First off welcome here! Always good to see a new name.

You did a great job capturing the emotions of the moment, and giving us the feelgood of Jim not being a jerk in the midst of his S3 wishy-washy phase was really nice.

Looking forward to any other works you may feel like sharing!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much!

And yeah, as much as he was as he was a jerk (Jeez he was hard to watch for a lot of that season), he obviously still cares for her deeply, and if he knew something was wrong he probably would help. He's not that coldhearted (At least, I certainly hope he wouldn't be)

Thank you again!

Summary: It’s a clear signal they’ve become real friends, not just two people leaning on each other to get through an endless workday.

A few months after Jim is hired at Dunder Mifflin, he invites Pam to his birthday barbecue. A (mostly) Pam POV on a milestone in the early days of Jam.

That was lovely, you really set the scene nicely and it felt really on character for Jim and Pam. Larissa is always a fun add too, because everyhad a different take on what she's like.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Not gonna lie, as my first real deep dive into Jam-as-Jam I was pretty nervous about keeping them in character. There's just so much to be done with Larissa (and Penny and Isabel), especially since Jim and Pam at times both DESPERATELY seem like they need someone outside their situation to shake them up a bit. I love the way the authors here have put them to work.

Summary:

Jim and Pam meet during their sophomore year of college. They’re at different schools, but somehow, they just might make it work. Modern day college AU.

I am all aboard for wherever this is going, Pam and Angela's friendship is an interesting twist, but it weirdly fit, so good job there! Of course Jim and Pam hitting it off was really cute, and I definitely look forward to more of their interactions.

Author's Response: Thanks, DG! I love the Pam-Angela dynamic on the show, and I think that if Angela lived in California she would be just open-minded enough to have a real friendship with Pam. She's still very Angela though ;)

Very cute! Also fun to see a more assertive Pam with nothing really holding her back, not making Jim take all the leaps here.

Author's Response: Thanks! I love me some assertive Pam.

I really liked this chapter! Something about the style of the writing feels minimal and yet there's enough there to fill in the gaps. It might just be me but it felt like the word economy of some of the 55 words challenges, but delightfully longer.

Looking forward to more, and welcome aboard! Always great to see a new name around.

Author's Response: Wow, that is so kind of you! Thank you!   :D

I enjoyed your take on this episode, and I can't help but agree with most of the points you raise! Gravel in a snowball fight is no joke!

Pam and Holly being the voices of reason here was very on brand, and I'm glad you had Jim and Dwight work everythjng out in the end.

Author's Response:

Thank you!

The best part is when you rewatch that clip of Jim hurling the snowball, you see Pam's the only one not laughing and is honestly taken aback.  She's Jim's partner in crime, after all, so she knows when he goes too far.  And Holly's basically if Michael was an HR rep; it's ironic his worst nightmare fits the description of the woman of his dreams.

And, yeah, Jim and Dwight's rivalry is one for the ages, but as much as they deny it their alliance is one for the history books.

Thanks for the review!

This was so well done, and the end was very gratifying! You were right in chat the other day about it leaving is wanting more! I would never do object to another chapter of you felt so inclined 😉.

Regardless, thanks for sharing this, looking forward to whatever you choose to work on next!

Author's Response: Thank you, DG!! I actually added more to the ending than I originally planned to wrap it up a little better (I almost had the last part just be her saying “yet” and him being stoked about it but not much past that). I have a 4 hour drive ahead of me, so if inspiration strikes I may expand it, but definitely no promises. ;)

Summary:

Canon-Divergence AU, set during Casino Night.

She could lie to herself all she wanted, she could pretend she had missed all the signs and was taken by complete surprise by those five words of his. But she knew she had only missed as much as he had misinterpreted.

Nothing, that was.

I just read this all in one sitting, and that was fantastic. The inner ramblings of both of them were really on point and totally believable. Not to mention the fact that things go better than canon which is always a win in my book!

Job well done! Great first run at this, always good to see a new challenger approaching! I look forward to what you may choose to work on next!

Author's Response: I think I freaked out enough on discord about this review. But did I really? Is there a limit? :P Thank you so much DoomGoose, again! You're a gem <3

I liked the parallel between their classroom placement to their canon seating arrangement, it'll be interesting to see what sort of shenanigans they get up to! Looking forward to more whenever inspiration strikes.

I really enjoyed Pam's rendition of the riot act. Roy's clueless buffoonery is so well portrayed in this and I'm glad that's the route you went. The implications of the lunch with Jim were wonderful, and I can't wait to see how you unfold this all!

Author's Response: Thank you. As much as it sometimes seems Pam lets Roy walk all over her, there are times she stands up for herself. See her fight with Roy on the night of the Dundies. Glad you seem to have caught what I was going for with the lunch there. This should be fun.
