Pam uses art better than she uses words.
I am still waiting for this to be true on the show.
This has been a great series overall. Excellent job getting into the minds and motivations of each of these characters.

but for once Roy had done exactly what he would have done – and Jim had nothing to gloat about.
I'm always on the lookout for good Roy moments. I really liked this one.
It's amazing to me when Michael actually gets something right. I like those moments, too. Bravo/Brava for a good chapter.
Author's Response: Thank you! I like Roy getting his good moments in every once in a while too. He had to be a decent, considerate fiance at least some of the time or she wouldn't have stayed with him all that time (she was no Fancy New Beesly yet, but even Old Settling Beesly wouldn't have put up with a guy who never ever made her happy!)
This is for kath and Code Name Remax, both of whom wanted a fic in which Michael spilled the beans he has so miraculously been holding thus far....
Begins the night of the Christmas party (or rather, the two Christmas parties...)

Best chapter ever. You nailed girl - every one of them. Roy, Pam, Karen & Jim. This makes me care about each character that much more. Well done.

Because this was real life, and real life was decidedly more messy than fairy tales, the tradeoff being that it was also markedly more visceral, emotions less obtuse, desires more pronounced.
This is EXACTLY why I love and adore your writing style. You've done a great job catching the "real life" moments. This is a great Christmas Eve Eve/Last night of Hannukah present. Thanks!
Date: December 19, 2006 Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10
Another overall great chapter. I wonder if Roy would be so confrontational. Would he be able to put 2 & 2 together so quickly (even with it spelled out for him). I think you really caught Jim, though. Evasive, tortured. Awesome.
Date: December 19, 2006 Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Michael's Mediation
Yikes, what a chapter. I felt icky in all the right places. I don't think this is over the top at all. I'm continually amazed at the things Michael says and does. I really liked this chapter, however, I'm too dense to figure out why it's in this series. Great tension.
Date: December 19, 2006 Title: Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Roy
make them safe somehow
This is why I love Roy. He is simple and knows he wants it simple. and safe.
Date: December 19, 2006 Title: Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Karen
there didn't seem to be a damned thing she could do about it
I don't know if this is the Karen I picture. I will go with it, because I trust your writing!
Date: December 19, 2006 Title: Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Jim
ooohh. give me more Jim & Karen tension!
Date: December 19, 2006 Title: Chapter 5: Chapter 5: Pam
was that Roy had taken care of more than a few little details
I love this little revelations that Pam seems to keep having. It is so true, no matter how much someone makes you cr azy, it's hard to have perspective inside the relationship. Great work, as expected.
Date: December 18, 2006 Title: Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Roy
Omigod, Styx. Hee heee.
Distant younger cousin. Only Michael could say that and mean it.
Another great set of perspectives. Lovin it!

Date: December 28, 2006 Title: Chapter 7: for self-assigned penance
That was a really good chapter. My favorite moment is when Karen leans over and says she's going to get Pam & Roy hooked up!
Date: December 28, 2006 Title: Chapter 8: for problems with easy solutions
Ewww. Ouch. This one hurts. It's a great chapter. vicious Karen, I like it.
Date: December 30, 2006 Title: Chapter 10: let's make believe that we are wealthy for just this once
"Shabby replacement, no. Rebound chick is open to interpretation though."
"Yes," he simply says.
Two best lines in this chapter. I am really enjoying this storyline.
However, the rest of the dialogue between Jim and Karen seemed a little too verbose.
Date: December 30, 2006 Title: Chapter 13: i wish the world was flat like the old days
He slides his fingers under the neckline of her sweater, gently pulling it off of her shoulders with both hands.
This is HOTTER than any of that other "erotica" out there. Woo. I need a minute.

This is shaping up to be a classic. I'm loving it and losing my mind, all at the same time. Very clever.
Date: December 26, 2006 Title: Chapter 1: On The First Day of Christmas
I like this! I can't wait for more. Is it really Pam???? I HAVE TO KNOW! I really like all of the little sweet moments between them. Great job.
Date: December 28, 2006 Title: Chapter 3: On The Third Day of Christmas
Another great chapter.
I wonder if Karen would have just called, instead of coming over.
Oh god the suspense is killing me. I love it.
Date: December 30, 2006 Title: Chapter 5: On The Fifth Day of Christmas
Karen sometimes just assumed he wasn't really serious when he went against something she said...Resigned to his fate and the change in his plans, Jim headed upstairs for a shower.
This is a great insight into Jim's character. He is unwilling to put up a fight, no matter who it is, Michael, Pam or Karen.
“Don't you think I deserve a better explanation than just 'I can't'?” The irony was not lost on Jim.
In my best Kevin voice "Niiiiice."
“I think the world of you Karen, I really do,” he said.
I can really hear Jim say this.
“Tell her that I hold her blameless in all of this. I don't think I could bear to lose her friendship as well. Tell her I still want her around.”
Classy Karen. I love how you have written her.
Jim seemed a little to "teenage girly" at the end on his bed. But then maybe he gets a little bit giddy thinking about Pam! This has been AWESOME!!! Keep the chapters coming!

Two separate things and maybe he just planned to keep them that way.
Oh yeah. This line makes the whole story. Very interesting. I hope this has more to come!
Author's Response:
Thanks. I wasn't sure if it was a good way to wrap it up or if it was going to come across as a cop-out. :3 So, your review makes me happy. ;)
I don't know about more, but.. we'll see. My muse tends to visit me in spurts and I'm starting to wonder if this visit was just a Christmas present. :(
