I cannot stress enough how good this story is!!! You actually make me feel bad for Karen while simultaneously hating her. You had a lot of great metaphors and similes in this chapter too that just gave me a really clear picture of what was going on. And the way Karen snapped at Pam?!?! I’m so excited for the next chapter! The ending was ominous but I feel like there’s a reconciliation on horizon and I cannot wait! :D

I loved this story! Especially all the metaphors. The tightness in her chest and the struggle to breathe, the blinking gas light, the adjacent doors. It added a lot the atmosphere. It was also the perfect mix of angst and fluff. Great work!

Aly, the characters are still the ones we know and love (or love to hate) but the way you weave in the background story and little tidbits of their lives really makes this feel like a parallel universe of The Office where everything went differently but the characters are still them at their core. This is amazing and I hope you continue! Your writing is so them and it really captures the moment. I can totally picture everything that’s happening, not to mention the fact that their characterization was spot on. Everything about this reminded me of how I felt when I was watching The Office for the first time and wanting Jim and Pam to be together and this was so like them that it almost feels like a deleted scene! If you’re worried about even chapter numbers, I say one more chapter with the date and then an epilogue! :DDD No but seriously this chapter was great, I loved Jim messing with Danny in exactly the way he deserves and how “the people of Scranton” deserving more than that became synonymous with Pam deserving to be treated better. Ahhh, it was so perfect and I’m glad they worked it out!! Them hiding from Wade was also precious and had me laughing out loud.
