3rd chapter: heartbreaking but definitely a scene I see happening.
This 4th chapter: love it, very much how I see their 1st week together going down. I love sneaky Pam, Jim always brought out her mischievous side in the early seasons so I love the tables being turned with Pam instigating the mischief. And, of course, I love the Miracle Mike part, a classic bit of "Weird Colorado" history 😉

About their first week, I can definitely imagine them needing to work out some latent, unspoken issues, but I wanted to focus on the "after that," and see them having some fun. 

As for Miracle Mike, I had recently learned about him and he just snuck his way into this chapter. I honestly couldn't believe it was a real thing myself and had to look it up for proof. ;)

You're hitting all my favorite kinds of JAM fics now! First the "working in the past leading to sexy times" in the last chapter and now "Pam taking care of Sick Jim", yes!

I think you're doing such a great job of having Jim come across things that remind him of the past in a very realistic and believable way, and also going beyond the usual things like the teapot or grilled cheese and going deeper with references like Jim loving crab.

Can't wait for the next installment!

So sorry I've been MIA (again!). Life keeps happening. New job (same organization), which has been...an adjustment, let's say. A good change, but it's taken a lot of energy that I come home and am like, "It's so hard to sit in front of the computer for even longer." But I'm going to hopefully put in a good couple days of writing this week and at least get the next installment up! :)

Love it, the banter, the painting, the little hint you drop Jim's, ahem, podiatric interests, all great.
(p.s. I realized I also used the term "Chez Pam" in my lastest and I must have subconsciously picked it up from here! 😆)

So I'll be totally honest: your end notes in this chapter really took me out of the story. And it's probably mostly me just having been in the Office fandom for a long time and seeing the amount of criticism Pam got and still gets vs all the other pretty flawed characters of the show. I feel you've done fine portraying her in this fic. If you do have a rough time getting into her head, I recommend the Pam Dichotomy where back in the day scrantonbranch got very meta with the Jim/Pam storyline.
Aside from that, another great chapter and now you're gonna have me watching to see if show!Jim displays any foot fetish traits 😉😉

I'm actually working on a couple of stories right now :) What I believe will be a more realistic (but still steamy) take on their first weekend, where they really get into the trenches and hash things out. And another one that is totally out of left field in terms of canon, based on a throwaway moment from the wedding episode. Can't wait to share :)

So sweet, definitely a moment I could see happening in the Season 2 era. "She stops just short of letting herself think it's sort of sexy. She settles for admitting that he looks really good. No, nice. Nice is a better word." I like this part, very much sounds like early Pam.

And I too am ready for it to be autumn, so flippin' hot recently!

Thanks for posting here, love this 1st chapter. I think you capture the Jim-Pam-Roy dynamic well, I'm sure Jim had a lot of internal struggle wanting to only think of Roy as The Worst (tm) but also having to accept that Pam did love Roy.

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I know a lot of people think Jim is like a "self-proclaimed nice guy" who was kind of a jerk for wanting to break up Pam and Roy, so I was really trying to express the fact that it wasn't quite that simple!!

This reminds me what a great job they did in season 2, showing Jim slowing and subtly getting worn down by every little thing until the transfer is the only thing that makes sense. I love the idea that he had the Christmas card on the booze cruise, I would definitely love to read a canon divergent story where he gave it to her. Great writing, even though I've seen s2 so many times you manage to include details and theories I never thought about before (like the possibility he carried the card, or that his motivations for confessing his feelings was to make Pam face her own)

Of course I've read many fics about how the first date went but yours is already competing for my accepted head canon, it's just so incredibly *true* to the characters! The "quack" note was adorable and 100% Jim, and you really nailed the JAM banter, now if only this could be brought to the screens. I'll have to take on the other 3 chaps when it's not so late but the first is already so fantastic you don't know how tempting it is to continue.
P.S. potato pancakes with applesauce AND gravy fries both sound delicious these two need to get over themselves ;-)

Thank you so much for the positive feedback! My husband is a Scranton native, so I'm very lucky to have a source of local lore under my very own roof. All of the items presented on the menus at the various restaurants in the story exist as written. :)

Of course, there is no Benihana anywhere near Scranton, but it counts as canon since they went there on the show.

Wow, love this one! The lowercase works great, giving it the stream-of-consciousness feel. I like the struggle you show here with Jim, he's both sure Pam feels something for him too and sure that he is better for her while also questioning what exactly he should expect from a woman who's engaged and why he's spent so long pining away. So many post casino night fic have Jim alone drinking somewhere but I can definitely see this, literally trying to outrun his problems. Great work!

Author's Response: Thank you so much!! I had a burst of inspiration one night, so I just wrote everything down with a minimal amount of editing because I really wanted the stream-of-conciousness feel, so I'm really happy to hear that I did a did a satisfactory job achieveing that!
