An extremely unfortunate situation for Karen, well portrayed here. I don't fault Jim for not discussing Pam while in Stamford, but his biggest mistake was the dramatic half-truth he told her at Starbucks. Though I think that as much as he was trying to convince her, he was trying harder to convince himself. Sad situation all round. Even though I adore Jim/Pam, I think that Jim/Karen made a great couple.
Author's Response: Karen was a great character and her only real flaw was being Not Pam. I think the show handled all of that really well. Thank you for reading and writing- I"m glad you enjoyed it!

A great picture of Roy's mind after Pam's confession, especially of his bitter thoughts towards Jim Halpert. I don't think that Roy ever hated Jim. He was initially suspicious of Jim, and that turned out to be for good reason, but he was man enough to overcome this between 1x06 and 2x04. Until Michael went and spilled the beans about Jim's "crush" on Pam! (Presumably, you meant to write DUI, rather than DWI.) Nice little piece!

One of the best things abot Jim is how much he loves Pam regardless. I mean, girls like Katy and Karen were glamorous and obvious choices for men as good-looking as Jim. Pam was simple, unsophisticated, and dorky. She was indecisive, lied a lot to herself, turned down her dreams, and was often a downright coward. Her career was never high-flying. But Jim still loved her anyway. He still hyped up her talents and achievements and he was always there when she fell. This could be an entire essay about why Jim Halpert is the best, but you've summarised it well in this drabble!

I enjoyed this collection of frustrated moments from Roy Anderson's point of view. While I adore the purity of Jim's love for Pam and acknowledge the faults of Roy and Pam being together (and Pam also bore some of the blame for this as well), it's never pleasant to see your significant other seeming particularly close to someone else. Roy's violence was unjustified, but his frustration, jealousy, and anger were understandable. The end of "The Alliance" is one of my favourites. Great piece!
