I liked this a lot. One part I particularly enjoyed- the bit about Jim having the newspaper, but never actually reading it. Says a lot about his character, I think. Nice detail.

Whoa.
This is one of those stories that catches you so off-guard, you can't really form a coherent review, so you walk away, and then you never actually review, which is bad. So I'm going to try to pull it together.
First of all, I thought the first chapter was brilliant, but I don't think I ever reviewed it. The second...whoa. I'm convinced that the beauty of your writing lies in the little details you offer. The return of Jimpot (which...awesome), Karen's prank on Dwight, Jim's painful memory of the alliance days, the "Pam years" vs the "Karen years"...all amazing little details that made the story that much stronger.
But then you go and blow it all away with the fact that PAM READ THE LETTER. Damn, I did not see that coming. I love that, even after reading pretty much everything that is on this site, I can still be surprised once in a while.
I'm thrilled that you've decided to continue this.

I am so flattered by everything you wrote. I'm glad that you like the details, because I have so much fun writing them. I was worried about the velociraptor thing, so I'm happy it worked.
As for THE LETTER (hee!) I'm glad that it was such a huge surprise. Now I just hope that I can continue the series with believable, huge discoveries :)

Loved that the story was interspersed with Pam's memories of various events. This chapter flowed beautifully. There's a lot to love here, but I was particularly impressed with the way you justified Pam's doubts about Jim "taking it back" through past events. The Conflict Resolution piece was the perfect example - nice parallel there. And I think Pam's reactions, while incredibly frustrating, do make sense. Pam has always let other people make the decisions for her. As you put it, simply but effectively, "His words give her an easy out."
And finally, the running motif. You set it up ever so slightly in the beginning of the chapter, and came full circle with it by the end.
So...yeah. I don't mean to get all fangirly on you, but you kind of rock.

Eight years has passed since Jim and Pam have spoken. Many things have changed in their lives including a little girl that captures their hearts.
I'm not usually crazy about AU stuff, but this is a fun story. Jim as a surrogate dad just has so much potential. And I love that you update so quickly. Keeps me sane.

I love that Pam decided to stay, and doesn't go the morally-correct route. Sure, we'd all love to take the high road, but how many of us actually do? As the show has made painfully clear this season, Pam is only human. Lovely story.

Very nice job capturing Pam here. From standing in the break room quietly, hoping Jim will say something to her, to finally revealing her feelings without actually doing so, this was very Pam. I think baby steps are all she can handle at this point.
I must say...the idea of Pam giving up her art again because of Roy wasn't something that I had considered, but now I'm terrified it's going to happen on the show. So thanks for that.
I honestly don't know how I handled tv angst before I discovered fanfic.

I'm glad that you think I got Pam right. For some reason I find it easiest to write from her POV. I tried writing this from Jim's POV first and my brain was not having it.

Yup, it’s a post-Cocktails fic! With a bit of a twist. Karen does a bad thing, and Jim is about to suffer the consequences…I love how you write these characters. Sorry this chapter gave you so much trouble, but it was definitely worth it.

Well, damn. This little fic had everything! I'm kind of in awe that you managed to fit so much in such a short story.
Also? "It is not often in one's life that one is simultaneously severely sleep deprived, high on love, fearing a violent physical attack, and fretful about seeing an ex, but such was Jim's state as he drove" just cracked me up. You had several lines that had me laughing so hard, I actually had to stop reading.

So...I'm always a little wary of crossovers, because it's such a weird idea to begin with. But I love The Office and I love P&P and I love your work, so I thought I'd check it out. First of all, you did a great job incorporating the P&P characters. The letter idea is plausible, and not something I've seen done often around here. Kudos.
Are we going to see the letter? Because I really want to see the letter, and if it's anything like Darcy's letter, I will melt into a puddle of goo.
In conclusion, I'm hooked.
Never in a million years would I have expected this chapter to go from Pam and her Michael painting to sex in an Applebee's parking lot. You are officially my new favorite author.
