I love you so much, bebitched. So very much. I especially adore Pam's reflection on what she had after she and Roy split up. Well done, well done; the perfect bit of chocolate for me to enjoy when I should be studying. You're the best! -CH

I loved this, oobadnama! These quiet "after-hours" glimpses are the stuff great fic is made of, and you've done a wnoderful job with this one. Bravo! --CH

Author's Response: Teehee, thank you CH. This really made my day when I read it earlier, such lovely words from one of my favorite authors. Means a lot, so thanks for reading. :)

flonkerton--I really enjoyed reading this in all its iterations, but this final copy is simply lovely. It's a really fun twist on the "Phyllis' Wedding" we all probably wanted to see. You did such a great job exploring Pam's relationships with both men in her life, and I always enjoy a story that looks at the whole picture of her time with Roy, rather than just pigeon-holing him as an abusive lout or anything like that. Bravo!

-CH

Author's Response: Welll thanks for all the help with the early drafts, they were really helpful b29;

He would close his eyes and remember their time apart, concentrating on it, trying to feel it. Just when he started to connect with the empty feeling, he would open his eyes and look at her sleeping beside him, and slide close enough to her so he could feel her breath, and feel nothing less than a sort of joy.

BL--I've noted before how wonderful it is to see that you're still writing, but the real treat is that you're writing stuff like this. I read this once then twice then one more time for good measure, and I just love it. I always enjoy how male writers write Jim, and your Jim in this story is the perfect example of why: He's just so fucking real. Apologies for the curse, but that's just how it is. You caputre the wear and tear on his heart that is seemingly repaired every day by his relationship with Pam, and watching that unfold and gel in this story was a joy. I think you know how much I love several of these paragraphs, so I'll conclude by saying welcome back and, please, don't leave again.  --Best, CH

Author's Response: CH, you have the mouth of a sailor, but that's okay.  I'm glad Jim seemed real here.  I really like the arc they are suggesting on the show, where his love for Pam motivates him to push himself in his work.  I wanted to show that, but in a way that wasn't all rainbows...he still pretty much hates his job, but he tries to do it well so he can enjoy the other parts of his life.  I think that's how it goes for a lot of people.  Not every Jim gets to be a sportswriter.  Thanks for your help and your kind words and I'll be around, just not as prolific as some.

This was absolutely breathtaking, bashert! I loved the detail and precision in exploring the characters emotions. You made this very real and tangible, and I found myself "slowing down" as I read so it would last a little longer. Please write again soon; you're very talented! -CH

Author's Response: Thanks! That means like a crazy amount coming from you (because I love all the things you write, for reals). Breathtaking is a super awesome adjective and I\'m so glad you liked it!

Lovely, lovely, lovely. I like the tension of her comparing him to Roy (even though she doesn't mean to). There are so many post-finale fics out there, but I'd be a happy woman if they were only half as good as this. Bravo! -CH

Catie, you bitch. Here I am, enjoying a night and sitting around, happy to be content in my new little apartment with my new little project, and then you go off and pull the rug out from under me! This SLAYS me! While this sounds cliched, it's the truth when I say that I tried to pick a few favorite lines and ended up picking 98% of the story (the remaining 2% were "ands," "the's" and "saids"). I just love the last paragraph, and the idea of champagne white wine chilling in the back seat adds a deliciously tragic finality to the finale. I absolutely love this, and it's at the top of the heap when it comes to post-finale fics.

I'm dead, lady. DEAD.

--C.

Author's Response: CH---I really don\'t know where to start here! You have been seated (primly, but with a strong and stubborn undertone...you are a southern lady after all) at the height of encouragement for me, and I really, truly appreciate this. I fear that doesn\'t make much sense so I\'ll just say that I thank you for your very welcome response to this little ditty. I am struck by whatever reason to tell you that I wholly admire your work and am sincerely grateful for your friendship. DiA has left me weak with confession, LOL! \r\n\r\nAnyway, thanks again!

Hi Little Comment--

I haven't been on MTT in lo these 3ish months, but Mose linked me to this chapter of this story and said it was something I needed to see. I have always loved "The Office," and to some degree I always will love it, but the show and I have drifted apart since mid-s4. In some ways, it's like Pam and Roy. We were great together early on, when we were young, but we didn't do well growing old together. I've kind of fallen off the face of the fandom planet, but stories like this just create heat inside me and make me think, "DAMN. THIS is what should have happened." It's as though reading your story is a glimpse into everything I wanted to happen last season that never did. You're right: Jim is great, but he's too perfect, and so is Jam. Stories like this, and the brilliance emanating from this fight, remind me of why fic is wonderful. You have a lot to be proud of here, and I really thank you for bringing me back into the world of Jim and Pam for a conversation that finally seemed real and believable, because for those moments I was reading it, I was reminded of why I loved these characters in the first place.

Bravo, my friend. Bravo! (and sorry to make this an unsolicited CH Story Hour)

-CH

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I\'m flattered beyond words that you took the time to check this out, and left such glowing words in your LJ as well. I didn\'t write this out of dissatisfaction, per se, but out of the need to test myself and let these characters really become three dimensional and cross the lines of what\'s okay to say...in short, to hash out what HAD to be hashed out in order for them to be real and TOGETHER. I imagine it would have taken awhile, but once the floodgates opened... Anyway, again, a thousand thanks, friend. Glad this was all you wanted it to be. :)
