6 I really liked this chapter. You have written some wonderful Jim characterizations. Particularly:
She's counting Jelly Beans and you've all placed bets, so it makes sense... that you'd watch.
They're both waiting on you to make it stop.
You're thankful, because you don't want to explain. Aren't sure you can.
And you wonder if she's talking about the office.
Jim's basketball game with the C.F.O. (not his actual initials) gets interrupted with news from what happened at Poor Richard's; he reacts accordingly.
Ditto the splinter story - you have Jim down exactly there! And I'm so glad that Pam finally asked Jim about Stamford. It was such a painful and confusing time for both of them. I'm glad your Pam realizes that. Thank you!

Thanks - all of a sudden I was thinking that Pam would probably want to know what his apartment in Stamford was like and it occurred to me that to ask him about it would've likely brought back bad memories for him. Strange train of thought there, but...there it is. :o)

Great job! I love the way you had Jim just fall in step with Pam's plans in such an agreeable unspoken way - the way two people who are beginning to see themselves as a couple would. It really made me smile this morning while reading it. It's gonna be a great day!

I never saw the movie you took your inspiration from so I didn't what to expect. But I was just swept along by each chapter you wrote. You did a great job building suspense for me. I don't know how the actual movie ends but I love the way this one did - kinda of a dawn of a new day...
Author's Response: Glad you enjoyed it. thanks for the feedback. The movies usually end with most of the characters dead or in very bad spots (like missing legs and bleeding). I just had to make it end happier.

7 This piece about Pam and her choices is told in such a quiet yet powerful way - never overwhelming. Pam does need a backup plan and soon. Really enjoyed reading it. Liked your reference to Escher.

No matter how much this couple is perfect for each other, they are bound to have flaws. Jim and Pam head to marriage counseling, and learn to deal with their issues in a semi adult manner.
This is a really interesting idea because I think most people think when Jim and Pam get together (eventually) everything will be perfect. But even the best relationships have problems. I am intrigued. Looking forward to the next session. Oh, and "horn dog" - he he!
10 I usually don't read anything that contains spoilers but you write so beautifully, I couldn't help it. "...trying so hard to be strong when she's not." is really about Pam this Season. She's stronger than she's been but not as confident as she should be. I hope there is a moment of truth soon. Thanks for posting this.

Crossover AU fic: Four of The Office characters meet the movie Closer.
For those of you who have seen Closer (and those of you who haven't), this is not a particularly happy story. But I wanted to write something that incorporated my favorite television show and my favorite movie.
This one has it all. Jim/Pam, Jim/Karen, Karen/Ryan, Ryan/Pam. No Jim/Ryan though, or Karen/Pam that I know of. So sorry to you slashers out there. ;)

10 This storm of emotions between Jim and Pam is making me cry too. Pam so quietly conveys her honest feelings even though it may sound as if she only worried about the rain at times. "I can let you go." This was really beautiful to read.
