Hi Catherine! Thought I'd drop a review here this time. It's a solid chapter, and the idea of cold weather and snow is definitely welcome at this time of year. (Mose. Hates. Summer.)

But I feel as though I must take a stand here and defend "A Christmas Story." I'm sorry, but that is the best Christmas-themed movie ever made. Period. I don't care that they show it a kajillion times during the holiday season, I will watch it every single time and never get tired of it. And even though it hurts that you lumped me in with Roy of all people (gasp shock horror), I know I'm not alone in this :)

Great job with this story. You should be proud.

Okay, so it's five months after the fact, but still better late than never, yes? I was just wandering about the archives and came across this little gem, and it blew me away! I love Pam's "original" drawings that she didn't put in the show. I wonder what would have happened if she had? Or if Jim had actually shown up?

Oh well, since we know how things turned out, I suppose it's academic at this point. :)

Anyway, I'm really glad I found this! Excellent work!

Author's Response: late reviews are awesome little surprises! and i'm so glad you liked this little fic.. it was my angst phase, but ever since the finale, i seem to be in a fluff rut. but that's ok, i'm not a complainer. :-) anyways, thanks so much for reviewing!

Summary: Yet another option for post-Cocktails...but this time, with a twist.  An antidote to all the Passive! Pam fic...here we see a little of her sassier side....

Since you took time to review one of my stories, it's only fair to return the favor. And this one, while a little older I see, is nonetheless brilliant. I know that world gets thrown around to the point where it almost sounds cliche, but I think it applies in this case perfectly. You've captured Jim's POV wonderfully, and I'm always a sucker for "inner thoughts"-type of fics. Well done!

Author's Response: Hey thanks a lot!  Much appreciated.  I think there's a lot more to Karen that the show doesn't show us, and I for one will be sad when the inevitable crushing of her soul finally happens.  (Maybe Andy will be there to comfort her?)

Okay, I was right. I really am enjoying this story. I love stories that give background information about the characters, and telling the JAM story from the point of view of the respective mothers is a very original idea. Well done! Now, if we could just get Pam's mom to call Jim's mom... Hey, crazier things have happened! Besides, it's not like Jim and Pam are talking about things...

“It was the first time he’s smiled at me since he’s been back. I mean, smiled at me, because I‘m me.”

I love that line, and had never really thought about it that way, but you're absolutely right. Wow, I really enjoyed this chapter, and I think you've captured the characters really well in this story. Look forward to more.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!  It means so much that I'm getting positive feedback from writers of your caliber.

That scene in the parking lot at the end of the Merger... man, I just wanted to smack the both of them. Okay, so that's not really a review of this chapter, just some venting! But this chapter is good, and I am enjoying this story thoroughly!

what's wrong with this ending? :) I kid, of course. But it IS a hilarious intermission. Very funny.

Author's Response: Thanks! I hope I didn't just ruin the actual ending. That would be sad if everyone ended up liking this one better.

Sorry I haven't been reviewing this story lately. It doesn't mean that I haven't been enjoying it--because I have! I love this little scavenger hunt that Jim sent Pam on, and to end at Cugino's just seems perfect. I'm looking forward to how this will all be wrapped up! Good work. :)

Author's Response: I'm looking forward to wrapping it up. It's not that I don't love this story, I just really want to write lots of new things, but I promised myself I'd finish this first. Thanks for the review! I'm glad you liked the scavenger hunt!

Hey, Azlin! While I thought for a second that the hand-written notes were a little long to be totally believable, I quickly silenced that annoying voice in my head and just enjoyed this chapter. :)

Seriously, this was a fabulous chapter. Funny and poignant, and I love that even the waitress could tell that Jim was being awkward. Looking forward to the finale!

Author's Response: Re the notes: Your initial thought was definitely shared by every other sane person reading this. Luckily for my fluff bone I managed to suspend my own disbelief and let the silliness just come out in little notes across the table. If you can believe it they used to be even longer and sappier before my beta made me see reason! Thanks for the review, Mose!

I'm not one to throw garbage, so don't worry about that. I love the first chapter, with Angry New Beesly getting to say what's been building up on her mind for so long. It's about time the two of them practiced a little honesty with each other!

And I love the second chapter as well, but for different reasons. While I don't necessarily like Karen, I do find her an interested character to explore, and I appreciated that you gave her a little more depth than some of us usually do.

In short, I am enjoying this and i look forward to seeing where you take it from here.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!!

Whoa! SNAP! I love Strong Pam stories, and this chapter is excellent. And it's not just because you've got such a great handle on the characters and their dialogue. You've created some instantly classic images and lines, such as, "because he knew my favorite flavor of yogurt," and "I just didn't realize your love came with an expiration date."

Brilliant stuff. Bravo, and keep it up!

The second vignette here is the most painful to read, because we all know that Roy's computer is probably still loaded with porn. Both of these short stories are excellent!

You are brilliant. It's as simple as that. And I'll tell you again what I told you elsewhere: darn you anyway for making me feel bad for Karen!! :)

Author's Response: Oh gee whiz, you're too kind.  And I'm sorry for making you have a change of heart about Karen, but come on, the girl deserves a bit of a break, right? Maybe?  Okay maybe not, but still.  Haha, thanks for everything Mose!

This is a nice exploration of Jim's thoughts throughout the series. And, with the exception of the very last one--(I personally don't get everyone's fascination with Toby/Pam...worst idea ever, in my opinion...but that's my problem apparently!)--I really enjoyed these!

Then again, since you titled these "conversations Jim never had, I can accept the last conversation with Toby! :)

"What in the name of Rachel Ray is going on here?" Brilliant and subtle nod to the Sargent's predilection for cooking shows. This was a very strong chapter, and I liked the sudden tension brought up by the possible move to New York. What may have started out as an experiment in battling writer's block is turning into a Wendy Blue classic! Way to go!

*applause!* *confetti!!* *fanfare!* *screaming teenage girls tossing their delicates on stage!*

*ahem*

Sorry...things got a little out of control there. My apologies. But can you blame me? I mean, seriously--you start this final chapter with perhaps the worst pep talk in the history of pep talks and expect me to remain silent? I'll have you know I had to stop reading for a full minute and a half while I tried to compose myself--I was laughing that hard!

And somehow, even before he said it, I instinctively knew that Dwight used commemorative spoons to clean his ears. The fact that I knew that horrifies me more than you know.

I am so proud of you for taking the leap into a new genre, and thrilled that you have produced something so wonderful! You should definitely explore this new realm, because you have a real knack for comedy, as well as the sweet JAMMY stories we already love.

Bravo, I say...Bravo!

This might have been shorter than most, but it was still really good! (TWSS)

Okay, all kidding aside, this was another great chapter in one of my favorite stories right now! I loved Ryan's line to Michael about putting on his pants in the morning. And I also loved that the tension between Karen and Jim has been ratcheted up a notch! Good luck with finals, and I hope to see more of this soon. :)

Author's Response: Thank you so much Mose!  Yeah I hated it being so short, but it was all I could do right now in the midst of finals hell, I'm glad you enjoyed it though!

Like it? How about LOVE it?!? Those opening talking heads are absolutely hysterical, especially Angela's and Creed's. And it is so perfect to have everyone miserable and then have Michael assume that everything is hunky/dory.

And it was very nice to see Jim and Pam making some progress themselves. Maybe there's a great underlying symbol to this story that hasn't been considered yet: they're at "basic" training, getting back to the basics of their relationship. Talking, joking, being honest.

Okay, rambling a bit. Excellent work, as usual!

HA! what a great ending!

So I just read the whole thing and I'll combine all my thoughts right here, if that's okay.

I love five things fics, especially ones that go backwards and forwards like this one does. And the first chapter about them meeting at the fair was just great. Truth be told, it reminds me of a five things fic I wrote along the same lines. (Does it totally sound like I'm bragging to reference one of my stories after reading yours? :) ) Anyway, i loved the recapping of The Dundies and Casino Night, but with more insight than we were allowed to see on the show itself.

And, like I said, this was the perfect way to end this story, tying it back to the first chapter.  Bravo!

Author's Response: Totally does not sound like bragging, but it does make me want to go check yours out. Anyway, I'm so glad you liked this! Thanks for the review.
