I LOVE that Michael has different favorite colors or wrapping paper, clothing and decorations. Also- I think I will edit this slightly and send it out to everyone I know sometime in November in order to prepare for my 30th birthday in early December. I can hardly think of a better way to spend the day :D
Seriously, this story is totally rockin' my socks! I started reading the day before yesterday and finished up chapter 56 late last night. It's really no wonder I get no "real" reading done these days- too much time at MTT.
One more thing- someone mentioned that Meredith wouldn't be wanting Ryan to take her out to Le Beignet (?) but I do believe that Kelly is still sitting at Meredith's desk for some reason, no?
And walking Packer's plank? blechginsfasdnfgjkads
That is all.

Author's Response:

I want photographs of that Party! Because that would be the Scranton Party to Rock All Parties!

You read all 56 chapters in one go? Holy cannoli!!!! How can you even talk straight!  oh.... blechginsfasdnfgjkads  Why don't you take some aspirin and rest a couple of days. Try not to think about Packer's plank in the mean time.

Summary:

Angela is worried about the upcoming Gay Epidemic now that Oscar has been outed and has returned to the office after his gaycation.

Oh mercy! I never thought anyone would find a way to bring together my two favorite television shows of all time but you actually did it. You truly are twisted. You got me so excited with the Red Dwarf bit that all I could think of during Karen's "forbidden passion" story was Lister being "forbidden passionfruit."
Sigh. I think I love you.

Author's Response:

Yeah, thanks for not calling out the plagiarism.  But really, Red Dwarf is the awesomest show ever (I have the entire set of all 8 series on DVD).  Though Lister's real parents weren't far from being brother and sister.  Actually, the truth might even be more creepy.

I love you too, as long as it's in a platonic way.  My fiancee gets violent.

Summary:

A shockingly accurate post-cocktails fic written during the hainous. Jim rebuffs Pam's apologies and while distraught at the grocery store she meets a handsome stranger who catches Karen's eye too.

EPILOGUE ADDED :) STORY FINISHED! I had to change it to Explicit Sexual Content so avoid the epilogue if that isn't really your thing.

Wow! Who knew I'd love Jealous!Jim sooo much?? Mostly I just think it's good for him. I love Jim as much as the next red-blooded American housewife (so much in fact, that my best FRIEND had a dream I was kissing Jim) but I do hate it when he's mean to Pam. Somehow jealous of Jackson is way easier to take than jealous of Roy. Or maybe it's Pam with Jackson that's easier to take. Either way, I'm lovin' it!!

Summary: The Office documentary airs each Thursday night and some of its fans are compelled to write fan fiction. Some of them have more insight than others........

Wow! I love this! It did take me almost 10 minutes of flipping around from page to page, trying to figure out where the hell the story was, before I could actually begin reading it. Now that I have I can't wait for the next chapter. Very interesting format. And since the "author" has revealed that he is a guy, I keep thinking the actual author is a guy. Yikes. I am really confused.
Oh, perhaps I should have put this in the correct chapter but I love the line about "I keep forgetting these are real people..." Sooo like everyone (myself included) who keeps forgetting they are NOT real people. Love it!

Author's Response: Thanks MrsKamorri. I was worried that the format wouldn't work and be confusing, but I didn't want to overexplain in notes. I'm not a guy, but I play one in fic! Thanks again for your kind comments.

Really liking this so far. One question (purely out of curiosity): do they call it "pop" in Pennsylvania? I have only heard it called that in the Pacific NW, but I have never lived in the NE. Kind of random but this inquiring mind wants to know.

Author's Response: That is an excellent question, and I knew when I was typing it I should probably have said "soda," because I think that's what they say there.  I have relatives on the East coast, and I sort of think that's the term they use there.  I grew up in the Midwest, where they say pop, and I now live in the Pacific NW, where they say pop.  And I believe in the South they call everything coke, even if it's Pepsi or root beer or 7-Up.  Regional differences are interesting, huh?

Member's Choice - “My father died, so I’ll need a few days.” She explained in an unaffected sounding voice that surprised even herself. The three other parties in the room were stunned into silence. Jim spoke first. “Jesus, Pam…” She stood with her back to him and addressed Michael as if Jim had not made a sound…as if Jim did not exist. It was the only way.

I finally gave in to temptation and started reading this today. I sometimes try to ignore a story until it's completed because otherwise, no matter how much I like it, I tend to forget about it if it isn't updated for several days. I don't think I'll be forgetting about this one any time soon though.

The thing I like best about this show is how it can make me cry and laugh in the same moment. It is the funniest thing I know and so heart-breakingly serious sometimes that it nearly kills me. The seriousness is hard to see sometimes because it's not all over the place the way the funny is. Occasionally I wish there was more seriousness but then it wouldn't be on tv any more :) So your story is especially kind to dorks like me who every now and then find themselves wishing the show had a little less funny, you know?

I guess I am saying that I like what you call the "angst." It's not entirely angst, it's just real. I love it.

Of particular note is back in chapter 5 (I think) when Pam is thinking about Jim standing "like a man stands in the doorway of a woman." The whole internal monologue about being children and being grown up really hit the nail on the head. Everything is just really, really well done. And after reading through the other comments, I kind of wish I had read Phantom Bruises when it still had its math geek title :)

Author's Response:

lol I know I feel kind of bad for editing that out so completely.  Jim had a whole bit of dialogue about if p then q, but I guess I could see that maybe that was out of character.  I think i still have it on my computer if you want me to email it to you ;-)

Thank you so much for this wonderful review! I agree, I usually watch dramas, so alot of times the hints of drama that the Office gives me makes me want so much more!!  No wonder I wrote something so heavy.

Please keep reading and reviewing! Thanks for the support.

Wow.
This story is just so different  I keep expecting things to happen the way they do in pretty much every other fanfic.  You really treat these two as normal, real people.  Beautifully normal.  I just love that you aren't tying things up neatly and quickly.  You're really giving me some wonderful insight (I think) into what's going on in their heads and hearts.  It really isn't just "Those two need to get a room already."

“You look at me like you’re so confused that I even opened my mouth…”

I know that look of his.  You really nailed it.  I cannot wait to see more of this and I am more than willing to wait while you unpack dishes or towels or whatever if it helps you keep this as awesome as it already has been.  Definitely worth the waiting.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for your compliments.  That look is what inspired me to write this fic in the first place! I think it's just so heart-breaking everytime he does it and I wanted to try to express it in words.  I'm so glad you're enjoying it, and thanks for your patience while I unpack ;-)  Keep me posted on your thoughts on any new chapters I muster up.
