I'm a 25 year old aspiring writer from Texas. One of my best friends just got me hooked on The Office back in March, and I have been obsessed with Jim and Pam ever since. I started writing fic in April, and if I never stop that's fine with me. These characters are amazing, and if I can capture some of their magic even a little bit, I'll be happy.
I have many other fandoms, but this is the most fun I've had in one in awhile. My other hobbies, besides John Krasinski stalking (not really, who has the resources?), include reading, sewing, photography, computers, and absorbing as much pop culture as I can without physically or mentally exploding.
This is lovely and perfectly angsty. I really enjoyed it, especially since there's hope at the end. :)
Poor, poor Jim. This is a great piece, though. I think it's a true reflection of what he was feeling in that moment.
Okay, I have read this whole thing over three nights, and I am enjoying it immensely. :) They're so in-character and adorable, and hot... and, yeah. I can't wait for more, and for them to patch up this little tiff . :) It's hard to blame Pam, though. I wouldn't want to leave him either.
*sob* So perfect! Can you submit this to NBC now, because I neeeeeed this! ;)
So, SO amazingly beautiful. I adore it. *sigh*
"It seems odd, in the ironic, slap-in-the-face kind of way that since her incident, it’s been easier to let him go."
Something bad happens to Pam. Very Dark.
Ooh, you're finally updating again! I was starting to wonder. ;)
You're a really good writer, and this is really painful, but I want to see Pam get through it. I want to see Jim help her with that. This chapter was just so emotional, with Jim breaking down in front of Pam's mom, it made me cry. I can't wait to see what's up next.
Member's Choice - “My father died, so I’ll need a few days.” She explained in an unaffected sounding voice that surprised even herself. The three other parties in the room were stunned into silence. Jim spoke first. “Jesus, Pam…” She stood with her back to him and addressed Michael as if Jim had not made a sound…as if Jim did not exist. It was the only way.
I just read all 13 chapters, and it's fantastic! I really like the emotions coursing through this story, and how it's angsty (which I love), but also lighthearted at times. Much like life. ;) I can't wait to read the rest, so please don't leave us hanging for too terribly long.
Awesome chapter! Jim's realization and confession were so sweet, so the REAL Jim, that I hope this is who we get back on the show, because I miss him. I'm totally loving this story, can't wait for more. :)
Author's Response: ugh I know. Lol I feel like every chapter I'm like "HEY JIM! THIS IS HOW YOU USED TO BE!"
Aw, that's so cute! I especially liked the part about Pam getting payback for Jim being a jackass since he came back. It's about time! :)
After a fire destroys her apartment, Pam moves in with Jim and Karen. Everyone has to find out how they define "friendship". Not for those who prefer their Jim to be wholesome.
please let me know if this is worth continuing.
Oh God, yes. lol Tonight I have zero shame, and this is really good, so please go on. ;)
"'Jiiiiiiiiim. Come to beeeed,' Pam’s voice is light, and it mistily floats down the empty staircase as it swirls about the room, echoing like a siren’s song."
A series of one-shots. There are times when Jim and Pam's relationship seem a little supernatural.
Guh. And please don't apologize, if Jim was all over me like that, you wouldn't hear a peep of complaint. ;)
These are really cool, and you're talented. I enjoyed them. :)
Three years have passed since Pam left Scranton for New York, and Jim is still very much on her mind. Will a work-related trip to Rome, Italy be the catalyst that reunites Pam with Jim once and for all?
I am really loving this story. :) Your descriptions and information on Rome is lovely. Roman Holiday is one of my favorite movies, and the Mouth of Truth is one of my favorite scenes, so I appreciate the reference. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Thank you so very much! A lot of people have mentioned that they love Roman Holiday- it is really and truly a sweet romance, no? Thank you for reading and reviewing... and who knows- maybe the Mouth of Truth will make a return performance ;-)
Yay, they broke up! lol That's mean, but come on. ;)
Still loving this lots. I hope a new chapter is coming soon. I loved Jim and Pam's reunion, the dancing, and I can't wait for the meeting. You're really putting a lot into this; not every fic requires so much research. :) You should be proud.
Yay, new installment! :)
Loved it. Loved going back to the Mouth, loved the confessions, and he's kissing her! Excellent work. As usual, can't wait for more. :)
Brava! *claps wildly*
I hate to see it end, but yay! for them finally being wildly happy together. As it should be. :) Thanks for a great read, I really enjoyed the ride and look forward to your next.
You're right, there can never be enough first date fic, and this one is utterly adorable! It made me misty in a couple of places, and it made me smile and laugh in most of the others. I'm really enjoying it. (Btw, the accent thing is easy - hold down the alt key while typing in 0223 on the number keypad, and voila! You have an é. :) Don't worry, it took me forever to learn how that was done, too. Comes in handy, though.)
Author's Response: Thanks for the tip! I can freakin' program HTML but I never remember to look it up and I'm way to lazy to look when I'm posting. Now I can use all kinds of new words! And thanks for your lovely review as well!
Ah, a perfect date fic, and since I adore Pride and Prejudice, I was all excited when she asked him in to watch it. Because getting a man to see that movie is some feat. lol I love that they fell asleep together, and the morning after. It definitely all gave me warm fuzzies. ;)
I, personally, believe every man should watch it. The guys in my English class were forced to watch it, and by the end they were more into it than us girls.
Aw. :D Thank you!
Oh, this was great! And the Pam payoff was just perfect, because all those other girls were just stupid. It was very cute, and I really enjoyed it, regardless of how much I wanted to beat up those four other girls. ;)
Author's Response: Aw, don't beat them up! Well, maybe Stephanie. She was just mean.
Aw, adorable! *g*
Author's Response: thanks for reviewing!!!!
Good job! Your characterization is good, and I think Karen would react pretty much that way. (She was pretty matter-of-fact in mine, too. lol) I can't wait to see more, now that you've gotten the beginner's nerves out of the way. I can't wait for Jim to get back to Scranton and Pam. :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your kind comments. I had been avoiding reading first date fic because I didn't want my story to be overly influenced by everyone else's stories. Now that the majority of this story is written, I'm looking forward to reading through what I missed. Yours is first on my list!
Thanks for reading!
Excellent! I cannot wait for more.
He looked in the mirror again. Bullshit. He was done waiting.
That line really struck me, because it's true. He's done, he's through waiting, and I think that confused a few people in the finale. Why would he go straight from Karen to Pam? Well, he realized Karen was totally wrong, and Pam was the only thing that was ever right. He'd wasted enough time being without her, and he isn't going to waste anymore. So it's really awesome how you nailed that logic in three sentences. :)
Thank you so much for that kind review. When I was writing this part I was thinking about the scene in "When Harry Met Sally" when Harry says, "...when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible." Jim just can't help himself.
Thanks for reading!
This is absolutely adorable. Sure, they have a lot to work through, but you captured the lightness and familiarity that I hope will still be there. I love all the banter and double entendrés. I really want to read the next chapter, though I'll be sad to see it go. You can just write another then. hehe
Author's Response: Thank you so much for your detailed review. To be honest, I'm kind of sad to see the story end too. Thanks for reading! :-)
Awwww! SO MUCH LOVE!
This was a fantastic story, and I enjoyed every moment of it. I hope that we'll see more from you in the near future, because you have a lovely way with words. :)
“I need someplace to stay.” She said this so softly he had to strain to hear her in the stillness of the evening, leaning toward her slightly. Something inside of him suddenly wanted to protect her.
Ooh, this is excellent! I really enjoyed your last story, and I'm enjoying this one. You have such a great handle on the characters, and put them in such realistic situations with realistic reactions. I love your style, so keep at it. :) I can't wait for what's coming up.
This was incredibly heartbreaking and tension-filled, and just... perfect. I adore the angst, because it twists my stomach in knots, and gives me these delicious warm fuzzies. Not that that makes any sense. lol I can't wait for more.
