I'm curious as to whether Letterman just slept with the sales staff a lot or with all his employees a little bit.

I loved the comment; I was going to reply but realized I didn't have anything clever to say. ;)

This is the piece of information on the Letterman brouhaha that I was waiting for:

Quote
The sexual relationships had ended before Mr. Letterman was married in March, a Worldwide Pants (Letterman's company) executive said.
source

I sort of wonder if one of the reasons that he and his wife took so long to get married is that he didn't want to give up his sleeping around. Tough to say from what little we know.

To put an Office spin on this, "Dating for more than 20 years and having a kid with someone ain't married!" That doesn't have the same ring to it, does it? ::)

So, call me cynical, but I really don't see what he's done yet to warrant this award.  Barack Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize

I agree. As much as I am a Obama supporter, I had a hard time w/ this.

What really sucks is that I usually have to defend him w/ my family. And right now I cannot think of an argument as to why he is a good recipient.
This is not a sitcom, where everything is all right.

Yeah.  I like him and all, but I don't get it.  I don't think he's remotely earned it whatsoever.

What's worse -- the nominations were due February 1st.  He'd been in office for TEN DAYS.

Yeah, I do think he has the potential to do great things, but it seems a little premature.

Your post has the answer -- W. Obama is getting the prize for not being George Bush Junior. That's my take on it, anyway.

Thank goodness they don't give out the scientific prizes in the same manner.

"Well, Dr. Soandso, even though you've never actually proven anything in your field, we really like you, and think that perhaps you might one day, so we'll just go ahead and give you this prize in physics now. Also, you're not that uppity Dr. Whatshisface, who none of us liked, and who really pissed us off the other day. We're giving you this award to partially slap him in his face. Enjoy!"

laughingicon So true. It's a terrible decision and a really bad judgement call, whatever the reasons. IMHO

Well, when you consider that Yassr Arafat won in 1994, the Nobel Peace Prize is starting to be as relevant as the Emmys.

They should have given it to either an Iranian protester or Iranian women in general or something in that area.
