Mistake by artificialchild Rated: K [Reviews - 0]
Summary: Carol knows-- deep down-- that this won't end well.
Recommended by: darjeelingandcoke
Recommender's comments: You ever wondered what, exactly, Carol Stills could possibly be thinking in dating Michael? And continuing to date him even after everything? Well, now you know. Really cool character study that does a lot to fill out this minor character.

Leavin' On Your Mind by dollsome Rated: K [Reviews - 0]
Summary: This is how Karen's last week in Scranton goes.
Recommended by: darjeelingandcoke
Recommender's comments: Some jossed inner monologue from Karen post-The Job. Her last encounters with some of her Scranton co-workers. This is just well-written.

white gloves by noblealice Rated: K [Reviews - 0]
Summary: It was his first time seeing where she lived now and if he had thought longer about it, he might have felt guilty by the slight thrill it gave him. Instead, his mind was only on the present moment/prank/joke and no-one else’s feelings, so he only felt a rush of pride as his long legs bounded up the stairs.

Recommender's comments: Christmas 2006, written pre-Benihana Christmas. In which Jim falls back into old patterns with Pam and struggles to find his footing with Karen. A quite insightful look at Jim's inner monologue that December.

Liner Notes by amazingly_me Rated: K [Reviews - 0]
Summary: When he gets the notes back on the scenes he shot they're pretty typical. Typical anyway, until the end. The cameraman who shot Pam's last talking head in "The Job" gets feedback from his boss.
Recommended by: darjeelingandcoke
Recommender's comments: Reactions from the folks in the room when Jim asked out Pam for the first time. A fun look at behind the scenes of the documentary... and also slots remarkably well into canon for reasons you'll have to read to find out.

Five Things Jim Wished He Hadn't Said To Pam by Regalish/Words_Unbound Rated: K [Reviews - 0]
Summary: Pretty much what it says on the tin.

Recommender's comments: A little bit of a glimpse into Jim's mindset and the after math of some key Season 2 moments. Plus: Pam plays a prank on Jim involving ducks.

Not the Type To by lodessa Rated: K [Reviews - 0]
Summary: Roy can see them before he opens the door, as he walks up the stairs. Jim’s leaning in towards Pam and she’s laughing at something he’s just said. She never laughs like that at anything Roy says anymore. When he sees Roy, Jim will straighten up and Pam will smile forcedly. Roy knows how things are. He isn’t as stupid as everyone seems to think.
Recommended by: darjeelingandcoke
Recommender's comments: A very good Roy POV piece if you want to understand Roy better without someone trying to convince you you should like him.

Summary: Oneshot from Katy's POV, mostly during Booze Cruise. 'She thinks maybe she should know what goes on in his head when he’s got that look on his face in the morning.'

Recommender's comments: Deep B-Sider from an MTT legend that never made it here. Probably the best Katy POV written in the fandom.

Summary:

As she settles in that first day of his absence, hangs her coat and takes her seat, Pam lets herself miss him as a coworker and as a best friend and that’s it. Work will be work, with or without Jim Halpert. But that’s a lie, because of course it is. A series of one-shots retelling season 3 from Pam's perspective

Recommender's comments: Though a lot of us know S3 by heart now, this author really does a good job expanding on Pam's thoughts and emotions through the season. As the author says, an excuse to appreciate Pam's amazing S3 character arc a little more.

Summary: It was just plain fitting that the fire alarm had went off at 3 in the morning, on Pam Beesly's third ever day of college...
Recommended by: NobleLandMermaid
Recommender's comments: Early seasons retold as a College AU. A fun read, I love the way the author incorporates canon things in different, interesting ways. Takes place in current day (2015-16) so it also shows how changes and advances in text messaging and social media in the last ten years would affect our favorite pair's story (both helping and hindering).

Summary: "The people around you are basically who you end up spending your life with." Brian and Pam's friendship through the years. This fic follows the canon storyline up to 9.15 "Couples Discount."
Recommended by: NobleLandMermaid
Recommender's comments: Not a ton of Brian fics out there but this is by far the most in-depth one I've found (83k words!). Basically the entire series from Brian's perspective, each of the 9 chapters covering a season. The first two chapters will make you fall in love with the show all over again, also some really nice "off camera" stuff during seasons 3 and 5. Fair warning, this fic doesn't shy away from being rather critical of Jim.
