So Pam is barefoot in the kitchen is she?! just kidding...this is a sweet happyHalpertsatHome!fic.  I really liked when you compared Dwight to a deranged house cat because my room-mate's cat is a little bitch.  Seriously, it's pure evil. haha.

Author's Response: Yeah, I know. I won't even ask where my subconscious was going with that image of Pam barefoot and pregnant. Thanks for reading!

Awwwwwww!  I love it.  It's so sweet and happy and angst-free, and it's perfect.  And now I want some macaroni & cheese...

Author's Response: Thanks! I needed something angst-free at that point. Some day we'll look back on S2 and laugh. Glad you enjoyed this.

Ahhh, yes, I remember it well.  I believe the first time around I also commented that I'd let Jim come to dinner barefoot.  Then again, I'm barefoot right now, so...

And I love the thing about the laundry, how This is the real world, and how he's the Answerman at work.

Just... great!

Author's Response: Barefoot, bare nekkid, whatever... :) I like your point about Jim being Answerman. Thanks!

Sigh....let's just fast forward to this on the show. Seriously. So simple and beautiful!

Author's Response:

I wish.

Thanks for reviewing!

See, we know what Jim really needs to be happy.  It ain't being the ARM at DM, it ain't the fancy cocktail parties, or the snooty office in Stamford, or the conventions in Philly, or the new suits.  None of that.  All Jim needs to see is how Pam's eyes light up every time he's near.  Everything else fades into the background.

Thanks NEJ, for the fluff.  We need it!

Author's Response:

What you said. :)

You're welcome.

Oh, yay. I love the contrast of the impatient, rushing work Jim and the lazy, happy home Jim. Well done!

Author's Response: Thank you, PaperJam! I was aiming to highlight that contrast. Glad it came through.

Oh the fluff! I LOVE the fluff! Can we see this on the show? When pigs fly? Ok, in that case, time to go shopping for some angel wings and then a trip to the nearest farm...

Author's Response:

Maybe we can chip in and buy Jim Halpert a videocamera (he is going to be a father, after all) so he can shoot some home movies and share them with us.

Yeah, I need more coffee.

Thanks for reviewing, StarShine

Very nice, enjoyed it a lot.  I love imagining them as a couple.  I enjoyed a lot of the little details, though I can't see Pam as uptight enough to have a problem with  barefoot dining.  Nice job.

Author's Response: re: barefoot dining, yeah, I had trouble coming up with a nagging little disagreement between them I could slip in there. This is the best I could come up with. :) Like I said earlier, Jim can eat at my table stark naked if he wants. Thanks for reading!

"This is the real world. This is where he really lives."

Wow. You and Colette are doing the heavy lifting for positive PR on a lasting, romantic, happy, HOT marriage. And you know how much I love that! Thanks NEJ.

Author's Response: Oo! Getting lumped in with Colette made my day, Par5! Thanks for your kind words.

This is the very definition of 'if only'. And why the hell not, Greg Daniels, you torturer! There were at least 5 times that I practically clapped while reading this - Dwight as Ninja Turtle? Utterly priceless. Jim's wearyness and resignation, yet humor about it all, at work - SO Jim.

And with Pam? The kissing and the laundry and the macaroni and the touching and the jeans and her hands in his hair and...then she's pregnant too? And this: This is the real world. This is where he really lives. Klunk (head hitting keyboard.)

Ah, thanks for this jewel. And I repeat, G. Daniels: see? Happy relationships can be funny, sexy, and full of punch too.

Author's Response:

Colette, we have to stop slamming each other's stories like this. People will talk.

I figured that even if Greg Daniels and his minions ever got around to getting Jim and Pam together, that we'd never get to see something this un-hip. But I don't think Jim and Pam are hip. I think they're basically homebodies who will be happy with the family and the brick house and the dull job and kids and car payments and the mortgage. Dull but happy, happy. So glad you enjoyed this. Thanks for the kind words. :)

I'm singing U2 now, so. :P

I don't know what we did to deserve this but so many fluff pieces on the same day? One from you, especially! - that's pretty amazing, since your fics come up once in a while...

Loved this. The description of the workday was amazing, because I can feel what hell it can be, and while I'm slightly sad that Jim would still be there in two years [in your imagination], I'm also - not sad. I'm not making sense. And the description of his home is even better - Feed me, woman, and I'll listen to anything you have to say. I can imagine him saying that and it makes me goofy-grin.

Thank you so much for posting this, NEJ

Author's Response: U2? I don't get the reference, but Bono is always appropriate, so. I figured Jim would stay at DM because a) he's got that mortgage, b) he's got a kid on the way, and c) he doesn't want to leave Scranton again. Or that's the way I read him: a homebody whose life revolves around Pam and his home, not his job. And that line made me goofy-grin, too. Thanks for the feedback, moofoot!

Thank you for such a sweet story. It made my heart smile which hasn't happened a lot on Thursday evenings this season!

Author's Response: I am glad I made your heart smile. Mine doesn't smile much on Thursday nights, either. Thanks for reading!

he notices that she didn't do the laundry today. There are no clean towels. He makes a note to do it after dinner, without telling her.

This is totally the hottest thing I've ever read in a fanfic.   Does that reveal too much about me being an old married lady?

Great job....This truly could be Jim's future, totally in character, but....all growed up.

Author's Response: Yeah, MO, it takes one of us old married ladies to realize that true love does the laundry when it needs to be done, quietly, with no fuss, because that's what it means to be partners for life. :) Thanks for reading!

Yay for happy and fluffy!  I love the "hands in his hair" and how it mirrors Casino Night.

BUT, I think Pam would love some barefoot Jim, even at dinner.  Oh, yeah.  (Maybe I'm projecting.  Yeah, I'm projecting.)

Anyway, just lovely.

Author's Response: Jim can wear nothing at all at my table, but Pam may want him to set a good example for the kids-to-be. Projecting? Hell yes. Thanks for reading!

Thank you for this :) It was fantastic!  I love the description of Jim's day, especially the part about avoiding Michael's tears and Dwight the ninja turtle (he'd probably be Donatello, he was the serious one, haha).  Loved how Pam makes him dinner, but he does expect her to.  Just great all around!

Author's Response: Donatello? Yeah. I hadn't really thought about it, but... yeah. And that is so, so sad. :D  Thanks DF!

Everyone seems to have been bitten by the Happy!Jam bug! All I can say about this is: this is what their life should be like. Not the part about Jim's crappy day at D-M, but rather the quiet joy they give each other at the end of a ordinary, nothing-special day.

Author's Response: Hi, LM! Quiet joy, yeah that is what I was aiming for! And I think we're all writing the same fic because we are all tired of the angst and frustration. :) Sisters are doing it for themselves...

Ah, barefoot Jim and pregnant Pam.  The way it should be... fluffy and delicious!

Author's Response: Barefoot and pregnant!! LOL! I actually did not notice this until you pointed it out! Oh my, what a Freudian slip. This is what I get for writing so quickly: unintentional humor. But that's okay, I can live with it. It's just fluff. Thanks for reading and reviewing, lisahoo!
