Man I love this. It was completely twisted and hilarious. The talking heads are hilarious too, especially Andy's. And an ending like that was great.

" From this day on he was Alex Wert."

This explains so much! It's all completely falling into place now. Excellent

Author's Response: Well, insomuch as Wert can be explained at all... still, I think we should all just be happy he's out there, providing us with his own unique worldview under cover of night. Thanks for reading this one, I appreciate it,

Dude!  I mean... what?

This is so twisted.  It's everything I've ever come to expect from a HalloweenJack fic, and more.

The Jim talking head was great - another one of yours that should make it on the show.  I loved how you worked in the sad, sad Ryan with however many unknown kids, which is of course a favourite of mine.  Oh, and Happy Pangela.  You'd get along great with larrymcg (who wants to write a Pangela if Susanita ever lets him).

My girlfriend is excited that I'm apparently Jim.  She messaged me and was like "OMG!  You're Jim!" and I had no idea what she was talking about, which isn't uncommon because she talks really fast and mumbles all the time but this was in text so that was still a novelty.

In reality though, I'm a secret government experiment in genetic engineering gone horribly wrong, exiled to the fringes of civilized society, my inhuman brain only permitted to cause its pain and suffering upon people over the vague, emotionless texts of the internet.  They would silence me forever if they could, but must allow me this release, lest my ideas cause the collapse of societies.

Author's Response:

Well, your head didn't explode after reading this one, so I'll have to deduct half a point from myself right there.

Seriously, though, I was a little worried that you'd be offended by this one (not enough to let it stop me, but think of who you're dealing with?), so I'm glad to see that it landed.  You've been one of my best and most consistent reviewers, so when I was trying to think of someone to be singing the blues, your name just popped up... I built the rest of the fic around what seemed like Wertly concept, while still writing in 138 style that I've made famous.  You know, you're the only one so far to say anything about the talking heads, which I was a little disappointed by since I thought Andy's was the funniest I'd ever written.  Hmm.

One last thing, your review seems to have as an undercurrent the idea that the very few male Office writers are completely lost without the women in their lives.  This point cannot be overstated.  I think anyone following my work and always spot the difference between a story I let my girlfriend read first and one I just go ahead and post.

Anyway, thanks as always for reading this one, Wert, and thanks for being Jim... hope it works out for you.

Jack! How in the you-know-what did I not see this earlier? I remember seeing this story title months ago at ff.net, but I think it was taken down before I had a chance to read it. Is this more or less the same story? Because it's 100% pure insane genius.

Also, I have this theory that you built the real Wert in your garage out of spare parts and body pieces scavenged from lonely graveyards. But this is as good an explanation as any, I guess.

Bravo!

Author's Response: The original was pretty different, but I thought the title worked (in that I thought it would drive Wert up the wall), so I figured I'd keep it alive. rnrnTo my recollection I have never built a Canadian. I don't know how the rumors started, but it's totally untrue. rnrnAnyway, thanks much, Mose, I always appreciate your reviews... now let's wait see what Wert has to say about it.

OMG...that's the best fic ending I have ever encountered.  YES! Gold stars, thumbs up, Stanley nickels, and Schrute bucks to you.

Author's Response: Wow, thank you very much, I honestly only expected to hear from Wert himself about the ending, so this is a pleasant surprise. Thank you.

very interesting.  I kind of really liked it.

Author's Response: Hey, thank you very much reading it, hope you'll tune in for the sequel: Cousin Mose plays it safe.
