I love stories where Pam gets braver quicker, and for her to be brave before Jim, gotta love it!

There are so many things I love about this story! I loved that Pam had saved the card to read last and noticed it had gone and remembered Jim leaning over her counter. Dwight giving her the clue about where Jim keeps sentimental things in his desk drawer (I wondered what else Pam might find there). I loved that Pam broke up with Roy because she realized she didn't have the love she wanted and needed with him and that she took that brave step without knowing what would happen, before she knew for certain how Jim felt. I loved that she found Jim's card but decided not to take that from him and that she expressed her own feelings without knowing what his would be. And the cards! They're both perfect. I love that Pam's was so brave and open and that Jim's was affectionate and caring but couched in language that she could brush off as friendly if she wanted to continue to live in denial - that wasn't what I expected, but it rang so true. His wanting her to know that she was loved, but allowing her to choose whether it was romantic love or friendship. And I could read pages of things getting out of hand kissing on Pam's parents' porch...
Lovely story, all around. I had all kinds of feels when I read this last night.

such a great story! The anxiety running through it, the payoff, and Pam's bravery. THANK YOU for not having a misunderstanding that set them back a few days/months. This was just perfect.

Aww, that was such a sweet story. I really enjoyed it. I was looking for some Christmas fic and your story was recommended somewhere, and it did not disappoint. :)
The last half chapter brought tears to my eyes, it was that beautiful! Thanks for writing such a brilliant fic!

"How dare you speak of destiny. You are no zen master, you've had no formal training."
This absolutely killed me. Dwight certainly does his best to keep the universe in balance :)

I enjoyed the entire story- and I'm very glad I came across it when it was complete, I don't think I'd be able to bear waiting for new posts!

One of the things I liked best was Pam leaving Jim's card alone; first, respecting the fact that Jim decided to keep it, therefore it is NOT HERS. Second, she took a risk in expressing herself without waiting for him to do it first. She needed to see bravery is rewarded. Aaaand that's all I'll say. Except thanks for writing another great piece :)

I really loved this story! You have a gift. You word things so well and the things that are said sound like something the characters would truly say and what they would really do.

Hooooooooooooray! How I love this story! One for the ages!  So, so, so, so good!  Both letters were perfect.  I can totally see Jim writing exactly those words to Pam.  Cautious, guarded, failing in subtlety.  Great great work!

Oh giggity giggity!!! I'm so excited for the next chapter.  That letter to Jim was perfect!!! Just perfect!!  I am SOOOO GLAD you picked this story up.  So glad. Thank you a zillion times.

So I've finally made time to leave a review! Sorry for the tardiness. Forgive me? :)

First of all, I LOVE the way you write Michael. The fact that his mom still buys him underwear for Christmas says an awful lot about him, doesn't it? And of course he'd be freaked out at the thought of being anywhere near a "woman's doctor" place. :D Classic stuff.

I like that Pam, being from Hershey, was "chocolated out" as a kid, and thus her taste for jelly beans now. That's a nice touch.

Excellent job with keeping the Jim/Pam storylines parallel throughout until they inevitably got together on her front porch. Their banter was pitch-perfect, and it was simply a treat to read this.

Well done, and thanks for the Christmas present in March! (Maybe it's fate that it's currently snowing outside right now. :P)

Bravo!

Thank you so much for this lovely story!  That last section on the porch brought tears to my eyes.  So sweet.  Jim's card was absolutely perfect, and like others have mentioned, probably exactly the type of sentiment he would have felt safe to share with her.  And of course, I loved the kissing, mmm.  We need a few more kisses on the show before the end of the season.  And that was brilliant of you, to tweak the post-kiss dialogue from GWH and make it a happy moment.  Great job!

I am very happy you posted this last chapter! Now I have great images of Pam & Jim kissing on the porch with chocolate air swirling around them. This is a great fic - thanks for writing it!

You finished just in time for Easter!

I believe my love for this story is no secret at this point.  So much warmth, so many moments that are such fun to imagine...Jim discovering the card, Pam nearly running into him at her door just as she was beginning to despair, the whole process of them realizing their fondest hopes.  Thanks for this wonderful gift of a story.

Author's Response: Honestly no words can say how much you've helped me here.  Thanks for believing in this story!  And thanks for everything.

I just read all four chapters this morning and they're all so good.  I loved your Pam because despite her nervousness and the bad timing, she finds the courage to put herself out there for Jim.  So great to read something where she's the one doing that instead of Jim.  Both cards were just exactly right and I'd love to see Pam's rendition of the teapot just the way you wrote it!

lol so cute!! I think my favorite part is actually the Dwight thing at the end, where Jim says if Pam kissed dwight he'd be grossed out.  So funny! I laughed out loud.  Glad you could finally get this up, what with all the technical difficulties. ;-)  Great fic, unc.  Really sweet and great.

Wow that was worth the wait. I just have to say Jim's card was the most realistic I've ever read. I love how he didn't end up saying exactly what he wanted to, I'm sure that's what he would have done. It wasn't "I'm in love with you" it was just enough to make her think and hint at it. It was perfect! You got everything down perfectly!! You're a fantastic writer I just loved it!!

Author's Response:

Okay first of all I love your penname!

I'm glad you feel like it was worth waiting for, I'm really sorry to have made people wait so long, but I struggled with the last 3 pages like you would not believe.  It was hard to not resort to romantic notions with Jim's card, but thanks to many a long night discussing the options with brokenloon and xoxoxo, I felt certain he didn't lay it all out there.  He wasn't desperate enough yet.  I'm glad it rang true to you.  And thanks for the compliments on my writing, it's just alot of fun for me to be part of this fandom and I learn so much from everyone who writes and reads here.  Thanks again.

I love Jim's note to Pam.  I think you perfectly hit the tentative quality it would've had.  Very nice story!

Author's Response: VB, I cannot tell you how many versions I made poor Brokenloon read, so I'm happy it worked.  I really wanted to write this sappy note, but it didn't ring true to me, so I went this route.  I've been worried people wouldn't like it because it was less romantic, but I'm glad it seemed right to you.  Thanks for the review, it means alot to me that people are still reading.

I was so excited when I saw you had finished this story!
So great! Such a lovely, fluffy ending to a wonderful take on that mysterious Christmas card. :)

Author's Response: PBS, I am glad you still reading after such a long break!  I'm gald you liked the end and that you liked the card.  I had such a hard time with it.  Literally I spend evenings reading it thinking "Come on Jim, what would you say"....does that make me crazy...oh well, probably.  Glad you enjoyed the end and thanks for reading all the chapters and staying with me!

YAY!  I'm so glad you hadn't forgotten about this story!  I love how the details you include paint such a vivid picture.   The two of them being so nervous around each other is simply delicious.

Author's Response:

Miss Hoo, thanks for the request for update.  I was worried everyone would have forgotten about this fic by now.  I'm sorry it took FOREVER but I had a really hard time with the card.  I admit I'm a sucker for the nervousness...I love making them giddy and nervous!  I'm really happy you were still waiting and that you enjoyed it.

Oh please finish this! It's the only story I consistently check back to see if it's been updated, because I really love it and I want to see what Jim wrote!! :P As far as I'm concerned, Christmas is never over- I could do with some holiday cheer right now. Anyway, you write beautifully and I look forward to the story's conclusion.

I know you labored on this and I hope you realize how great it turned out.  I'm literally amazed by the job you did on Pam's card--it seems just perfect.  I believe Mr. Halpert will be a pretty happy man when he reads it.  This story is just a joy.
