Oh Ryan, you really are human. Still a weird weird human, but he is one.

And the nights, always, can just suck it.

Author's Response: I think I have some weird complex that makes me feel a need to humanize even the most weird Office characters. Because yeah, Ryan is a serious jerk and has some issues, but I can't help but think of him as normal underneath all that. It's when Dwight starts to seem normal that I worry for myself.

"He just wished it had taught him how to upgrade his girlfriend to a newer, sleeker model without losing the things that made him like the last one in the first place."

Great line. Poor Ryan. Seems like Kelly got the best end of this breakup.

ETA - I added the MTT disclaimer for you...

Loved it, Azlin! I like your treatment of Ryan, it's very cool. I think he's getting what he deserves!

Author's Response: Thanks, McG! This story was a little bit of a departure from my usual fluff, but I think Ryan does deserve some angst at this point, and I'm happy to give it to him. Okay, that sounded a little vindictive, but I think you know what I mean.

Very nicely done! Oh, so very Ryan.

Author's Response: Thanks, Bailey! I know you're kind of a Ryan expert, so I'm really glad you thought it was in character!

I like this, Azlin, though I hate that he deleted her number. I think Ryan and Kelly are my new Jim and Pam when it comes to having a couple to root for; I LOVE Kelly with him, and I love how she pulls him off his high-horse with every syllable from her tongue. You did a great job showing the push-pull of emotions here, but I have a sincere hope that she texts him (thus reminding him of her number) the minute the backlight on his phone fades to dark.

Wonderful work, and I'd love to see more! --CH

Author's Response: Realistically, I'm kind of convinced that the Ryan/Kelly relationship is pretty much over, especially from Ryan's point of view, but I'd still love to be proved wrong. And I'm really glad you liked it. I don't write Ryan very often, but this story just sort of came out, so it's nice to hear that it worked for you. :)

I loved this!  What a great view into Ryan's brain.  I loved the line "It was a sad day in Scranton when Kelly Kapoor was the smarter one in your relationship."

I also especially liked the part about upgrading and the cell phones/caller ID part, which is so, so, true.  Nowadays, you almost alway know who's calling.

This stands very well on its own.

Author's Response:

Thanks, Kev! I was a little worried that this was way too out of character for Ryan, so it's good to hear some reassurance from the master of minor characters. ;)

Anyway, I really appreciate your review! Thanks for always being so awesome!
