A very entertaining review of Jim and Pam's memories! I like stories that show the emotional hurdles that Jim and Pam faced in the early days of their relationship. Pam had a lot of baggage to release.

Author's Response: Thank you! Obviously I wrote this a long time ago but it was super fun to show them in a good spot in their relationship, so they could really talk about what they'd gone through together. I was really excited to see new reviews! JAMfic was a big part of my life for a while and it is so fun to revisit it.

I came into my TLK gmail after...I don't know how long...and imagine my surprise to find this. And of course, I went into my own fics and reminded myself that I...used to write fanfic? Whaaaa? ;)

Author's Response: Ha! I hear ya. One of the current fic writers is bringing me great joy by reading through all my old stuff so I’ve been back on this site a bit— which is how I saw your unanswered reviews.

This was a fun time. I’m glad we were part of it together.

Another great story, though I kinda wish you'd ended with a proposal. :) I like that you let Jim in on the game and how his memories in Stamford were so different than hers. Great characterization here and tremendous fluff!

Author's Response: Thank you! You know, I've done so many proposal stories at this point that I'm afraid people are bored! Ha. Thank you so much for reading and commenting. This story was fun- each chapter was based on a word issued that day on the forum.

Happy memories.... memories still to be formed. Like the time when they will get engaged, get married, their first baby. They've got lots of happy memories in their future.

Author's Response: That's exactly what I love about them- the limitless possibilities for happiness. Thanks for going back to this story!!

Okay, the two of them on the stoop... my new favorite image of them EVER

Author's Response:

Thanks! I like picturing them just about anywhere, as long as they are happy!

Pamocrat? Wow. That is horrifiying. And then a Jimpublican. Can I registar for these parties? Where do they stand on the economy? Universal health care? Iran?

Author's Response: Well, we know how they feel about Hot Dog Fingers and the Afganastannanis...

First off, Jim has a key to the condo? Why am I not surprised.

But, yeah. I like the comparison with Dwangela. Because, its similar. I mean, weird/ But similar.

Author's Response: Yeah, Michael loves Jim. He'd totally rather have Jim with a key than Dwight.

Ya know, here I always thought I was weird when bleach reminded me of my crush. I've got nothin on these two.

Author's Response: Well, it's easy to make them neurotic like this because they are fictional. Bleach, eh?

Okay, so I totally read the first few chapters. Then stopped reading How weird is that. Now is the time for the remedy!

He wasn't lost. I totally squealed that. Haha, I love it love it love it!

That was so.... gah, it was so sweet and heartbreaking at the same time. Aww!!

Author's Response: That is unusual for you to stop, it's true!

I just got the chance to read this entire story and wanted you to know that the use of the prompts was WONDERFUL.  Great little read!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I have a new baby so I haven't been writing anything, but it's good to know that my former efforts are still being enjoyed!

That's a nice way to wrap it up. And I liked the registered Pamocrat in Vote. :)

Author's Response: Swedge, you reviewed this story nearly 8 years ago, but I still appreciate all the kind words. Jim + Pam forever! :)

I was hoping that someone would use force in the Star Wars sense. I'm glad you did. It sounds like Jim has plans for his light saber.

Author's Response:

12 years ago, you left this nice comment and I didn't reply. I discovered that there is a page in the author profile on MTT that shows un-answered reviews, and several of them are from you on this particular story. My oldest daughter was born the day before you reviewed this, so I guess that's why I didn't get back to you. She is in 7th grade now!

Anyway, I'm clearing out these unanswered reviews today! So thank you, very much, for your kindness when you read and reviewed my story. My daughter ended up being a huge Star Wars fan, so maybe we were both onto something. :)

I'm glad you didn't explain exactly what Michael did with the pineapple rings. Whatever it was, I wonder if Dwight assisted, as he often does. And if it was something he learned from Todd Packer.

Author's Response: Oh, Todd Packer. Yikes. Yes, I decided it was best to leave all of that up to the imagination. Thank you!

A fun concept and good introduction. It was pretty brave to do one story based on these words.

Author's Response: Thank you! It was definitely a challenge to keep it going!

One thing that I really appreciate is how thoroughly you work the prompts into the story.  It's not just a lost grocery list, Pam looking at the sky, or powering down for the night.  You really explore all the possible meanings for them and ramifications.

Author's Response: Oh, thanks! With the exception of the horrible "entourage" chapter (which I think improved on re-writes but was still a pain), I did try to slip the word in as much as possible beyond whatever my immediate idea was for that section. Sort of to subliminally reinforce the idea, I guess.

I really love how seamlessly these all fit together.  The transition from "Lost" to "Rescue" was particularly smooth.  It would be tough to recognize they were prompts!

Author's Response: Oh, thanks! I had a hard time with that, because obviously they were prompts and I could never be exactly sure what was coming next.

Author's Response:

You reviewed this 12 years ago and I never responded (there's a page in your MTT profile that shows how many reviews you have and how many you haven't responded to. I had 9 I never answered, and this is one of them).

Is it sad that everything that reminded Pam of Jim reminds me of him too?

Umm.  You don't need to answer that. LOL!

As someone challenge-challenged (only one I ever did was the Evening Coming, ages ago), first let me say how impressed I am that you kept this flowing for 13! parts.

Have to tell you, somehow this triggered a memory of a book my daughter (now starting to think about college!) used to love when she was very little: If You Were My Bunny, but Kate McMullan. (Must have read it to her 800X.) Basically a mother describing how she'd love/care for her baby if they were a long list of animals. Not saynig your story is childish - just something about Pam relaying all these examples to Jim, and the thematic, repetitive, rhythmic, playful, soothing tone that brought it to mind. Lovely ;-) (Since I know you'll be deep into children's books soon, thought I'd mention it, lol.)

Author's Response:

This was difficult because I don't do plot particularly well. I'm happy that it didn't go too far off the rails for you! I'm very flattered that it brought to mind a book your daughter loved- that's a wonderful compliment regardless of the genre. Also, thank you for the rec- I'll be checking that out! (Two more weeks to go!). Thank you for reading and, as usual, for taking the time to be so generous with comments.

Aww!  Very sweet, lis.  What a nice job you did on this challenge!

Author's Response: Thank you very, very much! I've enjoyed seeing your impressions of each chapter- especially what you liked and what stuck out for you. This challenging was  (to be completely unoriginal) really challenging for me, because I have a hard time sustaining any kind of plot. Stringing together vignettes is my usual style, but I tried to do a continuous narrative here just because I need to work on that. Thank you again for reading and for all the comments!
