I do like the Jim/Natalie dynamic.  A lot actually.  But I'm terrified that  now Pam's going to be all angsty that he's replacing her since she's gone!  Oh and the Michael/Jan/Holly triangle (poor Kevin, doesn't even get to be included in that) is just killing me because you know the writers are going to drag that thing out for reals.

Holy crap.  I'm scared of what Jan would do if Michael cut her hair!

I love Jim having a FRIEND in the office espcially someone so much like Pam, but nothing more than a friend. If you get what I'm saying... :)

This episode is hilarious as always. Very realistic. I can already see the bad cheating wheels turning in Pam's head.

I definately think that it's innocent and where he's coming from but if I were Pam...I don't know if that would be my first conclusion after realizing my boyfriend has just ignored my call after having lunch with a woman I've never met but know is probably young and attractive.

Author's Response: Ooh. Good point! This is why I love reviews- it helps put everything in another perspective that I may not have realized at first, and other concrete ideas that I am totally blocking out, but need to consider as very possible. I'd hate for this to become a weird love quadrangle and bring in Season 3 angst. I definitely want nothing but happiness for Pam and Jim, so I pray I doesn't feel like I'm dragging out Jim's journey of finding out what he really wants for himself outside of "JAM". :) rnrnThanks for the reviews. You're awesome!

I'm not enjoying the Natalie/Jim dynamic. Mainly because if this is like a soap opera it's going to go to an unhappy place. If Jim had answered his phone it would seem a lot less suspicious and be more like a brother/sister thing seeing as how she's currently dating his brother. I really want to know where Pam's head is at right now.

Author's Response: Thanks for the review- writing Natalie and Jim as "friends" is somewhat of a challenge because I want to have her there as somewhat of a helpful "sisterly" figure without taking their relationship too far. Jim seems to always be there for everyone else, but we've never really seen someone, outside of Pam, who's really there for him as a friend. rnrnBy him not answering the phone, I guess I saw that he just didn't know how to tell Pam he turned down the promotion and that, even though he's very happy with Pam, he's deeply unhappy with his career. I can totally see him keeping those feelings from her, and afraid to tell her she's the only thing that has been keeping him there. I definitely want to bring Pam in soon. I can totally envision the party planning committee putting together a Fourth of July party that would allow Pam to come visit, because she would probably be on a short break from school around that time.

Nice work, Nightswept. I have to admit, I was nervous about Natalie at first. I'm not sure if it's more of a threat for Pam to have a romantic rival (because we know Jim would never cheat), or for her to have a BestFriend! rival. I always thought that the Karen story on the show would have been much more intense if Jim and Karen would have never actually dated, but if Karen would have stepped in as a best friend to Jim. That would've really done some harm to Pam, I think. Anyway, back to the review -- I like how this is playing out so far. I'm always excited when the new chapters come out, and I appreciate that you're churning them out so fast. I hope Jim goes after the teaching thing, that he doesn't let Pam's dreams hold him back, although I think that Pam would support him 100%, whatever he chooses to do. Oh, and I'm glad that Josh is a part of this story. I love Jim's fictional siblings...in my head, they're as real as if we'd actually met them on the real show. And please let Pam and Natalie meet sometime soon.

Author's Response: Thank you for the great review. I can definitely see Pam having Jim's back and supporting him in his personal aspirations. I think Jim is holding back certain feelings from Pam, and afraid to let her know how truly unhappy he is working at Dunder Mifflin. (I don't know why, I kind of sensed this watching actual episodes of the show.) It's just a matter of him actually communicating those feelings to Pam. Natalie, as a friend and now the only other normal person in the office and also someone who's now taking a place in his life outside of work by dating his brother, is someone he felt he could vent his frustration to. I definitely plan on bringing Pam in soon. I think her and Natalie would make great friends (Pam so needs a girlfriend she can talk to).

BOOOOooooo your deliciously crafted cliffhanger! And ANDY??? for CORPORATE??? These are great great episodes! (and if you go with pissed Michael in the next bit, I recommend the face he makes in "Branch Closing" when he talks about Josh giving the garage to Bob Vance!!!)

Author's Response: I literally listed every person in the office and tried to decide who was best fit for corporate. I just couldn't see David Wallace bringing in Dwight, especially after seeing how he behaved in "Cocktails". So Andy it was. I love that Michael face!

I think that it was true to the form of the show. More importantly I'm dying to find out what's going on with him! Seriously! More please!

Oh, these are so fun to read. Michael is just classic. And I love your call backs to previous episodes, like "the baby so nice they named it twice" (I just watched Valentine's Day last week.) Great job. Can't wait to see where this goes next...

Author's Response: Thank you, and good eye- I am always hoping people recognize the old episode call backs. I try to include them as much as I can. There's a call back to a deleted scene from The Injury in the next chapter. :) I totally know too much about this show. It's kind of sad. haha.
