So so so cute. I loved it. You have managed to capture Jim, Pam and Kelly perfectly. I loved how Jim sent her a cutout of Philly Jim lmao.

P.S I hope you DON'T stop writing.

Had to reread this completely and it just made me smile like an idiot.  I loved how you had them realistically work through their issues, like an actual couple, and I like how Pam is the one who takes the lead in trying to break the impasse and draw out Jim's doubts and concerns.  It reminds me of how Pam looked at Jim (sans glasses) after Ryan cornered him about his job.  She sensed immediately that things were not kosher, and I'm sure once they were released early, she got him to open up about it.

I'm so glad you took the time to write this, considering what a crazy summer you're having.  Take a break, because you know September will be here before you know it and we'll have more fic fodder at last.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much EH!  I'm so happy I could make you smile.  Realism is what I was striving for so I'm so glad you think I succeeded.

I'm glad I took the time to write this too.  I was experiencing quite a long and scary drought - so it was nice to write again.  I actually have an idea for a new fic - but we'll see if it actually comes to pass.

Thank you again for the sweet review.  I really appreciate it!

9 - If only the show would give us November, too.  *sigh*

10 - "Home".  Brought tears to my eyes.  But I really think Jim's going to have to tease her about the "serious artist clothes" instead of keeping it a secret!

11 - Thank you for having Jim actually pursue a corporate career.  I'm a bit sick of the fic cliche of him going off and writing sports columns and whatnot.

Author's Response:

9 - I wish!!

10 - I'm glad that didn't come across too cheesy.  I wanted to show that Pam was spreading her wings but still grounded with Jim.  And I think Jim might just tease her about that someday.

11 - You're very welcome - my pleasure.  :)

5 - I love the concept of time both eternal and instantaneous.  I definitely feel that as a mother.  I've had a 3 year old forever but when the hell did he get to be such a big boy?!

6 - What a great and realistic fight for them to have!  I think it was in character for both of them to behave the way they did, say the things they did, and make up the way they did.

7 - Awww, I just love Pam's and Michael's relationship.

Author's Response: Awww thanks belsum.  I'm so happy that those parts seemed so realistic to you.  I really fought against doing anything too trite and/or perfect.  And I love Pam dealing with Michael too.  :)

What a lovely story...honestly it felt like a warm blanket and that's high praise I assure you. There were so many great moments, but I think the one that made me stop and go "aww" was when Jim assured Pam that he was not trying to postpone the wedding (when all the stuff with Wallace came up).  Loved this, thanks for writing it xoxoxo.

Author's Response: Your review made ME say "aww" so I think we are even. :) So glad you liked it LoveFool and thank you so much for the review.  Made me start my day with a big smile. (twss!  HAHAHA)  Seriously, thank you. :)

I really like the rhythm of this piece.  The transformation from summer camp lonliness to exciting opportunity lonliness was very real and nicely illustrated.  I like that you started out with Jim but ended up with Pam.

Author's Response: Thanks belsum!!!  I'm so very happy to know you liked it.  Thanks so much for reading!

Now I'm completely content- what a wonderful way to wrap up the summer! Poor Pam, worried that Jim was going to miss another art show. Poor Jim, so twisted up about this job thing that he doesn't know which way is up...and how sweet that Jim assumes that everyone misses Pam as much as he does.

Lovely, lovely work- in-character, sweet, plausible, and just so nice. And I'll take the "thunderstorm" mention as a shout-out, even if you didn't mean it as one. Heh.

Author's Response:

A content Lis makes a happy xoxoxo. :) Poor Jim and Pam indeed but I'm confident it'll all work out - in my world at least. ;)

And you can take the "thunderstorm" bit as whatever you wish - with my compliments. :)

So sorry it's taken me a while to review - little frenetic here the last couple of days. But, your updates have been my happy pill. As always, I love how they love each other in your fics - and here especially, how their relationship is elastic enough to include Pam's expanding world (have always been on board with the idea of her teaching, btw) and Jim's struggles to find his footing at work/in the world. You make it so natural and believable. And a little confused/frustrated Jim needing to get his ya-ya's out horizontally? Yeah, that works too ;-) This was a joy - thanks, babe.

Author's Response:

Late is certainly better than never. :) I'm not ashamed to admit that I tend to live vicariously through our dear Pamela.   I firmly believe everyone should have someone who loves them like that.  I'll let you know when I've found mine - hopefully soon.  Maybe when I'm nosing around West Hollywood later this week.  Hmmmmmmmmmmm.  LOL!

And re: Jim and his ya-ya's - I wanted him to be scared that this little "set back" would cause him to maybe lose her (all the delays when she was with Roy etc coming back to haunt them both) and so I imagined the way he'd get around that part of the discussion was proving to her that he wanted her.  KWIM?  Anyway - glad it worked.

Right back at you babe.  The very least I could do. :)

I loved this story, especially the last chapter....from the banter about the month of November, to Pam wearing a foam crown of Lady Liberty to Pam's art show and Jim rushing to make it on time to their late night conversation about Jim's career/life aspirations that felt like pulling teeth (communication will always be a work in progress with these two) to Michael's crazy idea about Arts & Crafts Day and wanting Pam to cut pics out of magazines for a collage. Welcome back Pam! I could completely envision Michael doing something like that.

And I loved Pam's self-realization about her job in the end. And sometimes, the grass isn't always greener on the other side but it's the perfect place for her to figure out where she wants to be.

Great job!!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much Tammy!!  When I started this story I wanted Pam to move - but not far enough to take her away from The Office as we know it.  All along I knew the last line of the story would be "Dunder-Mifflin, this is Pam" and all along I imagined her being okay with it when she said it.   I'm so glad that came across.

I have a soft spot for the last chapter myself - so thank you.  I really appreciate your taking the time to tell me so.

Ah, xoxoxo . . .just the nice break I needed from my virtually Pam-less story. Great job (and not too schmaltzy at all!)!

Author's Response: Thanks wendolf!  I appreciate the non-schmaltzy confirmation. :)  I think you need to stop beating your story up and just let it be.  Just so you know - I happened to notice your Pam-less story has more reviews than my Pam-full one...so you might be on to something after all. ;)

I really love the conversation between Jim and Pam about Jim's job. I love Pam pulling it out of him and him being open about his want/need to support Pam while she does what she wants. Just really well-done.

Oh and I love Pam's realization about her job - yeah, sometimes it sucks, but she actually has so much freedom that she wouldn't have anywhere else. I think that's why a lot of them stay, even if no one would admit it ;)

Author's Response: Thanks JITC!!  I was a little worried about that part.  I think Jim's as close to perfect as a guy can get - but I wanted to show that she was just as supportive of him in his own career - whatever that turns out to be. I'm so glad it read well.

Oh yay!  I know that's not exactly a deep and insightful review, but everything about this little collection reminds me why I like your writing so much.  You never lose the kernel of who Jim and Pam ARE.  Great work, my friend.

Author's Response: Awww.  Thanks Mox!  We take all varieties of reviews here so fine by me. :) I'm so very glad you liked it.

Yay!  Loved this from start to finish, xoxoxo, and this in particular:  "Want to start Arts & Crafts Thursdays."  I can just picture it--so funny.  Great job!

Author's Response: I really struggled with not having Michael to welcome Pam back - but I wanted her to come back to a low key officce- which is impossible when Michael is around.  Thank you so much for your sweet reviews.  I really appreciate it.

Reading this was definitely the best part of my day.  I love all the subtle touches of realism you throw in, like Jim being flustered after fighting traffic.  It was all great, a splendid depiction of them as a couple.

Author's Response:

Happy to be of service.  :)  I know this guy who worries about traffic a lot - so I have some experience there. ;)

Anyway - what I really meant to say is thank you.

Oh, that was wonderful. I can say from experience that November is a great month to get married!

I really enjoyed the way you balanced out the happiness with some not-so-happy moments in this. It's much more realistic when life has both ups and downs. It's really sweet, but not a sugar overload, which is so nice. Thanks so much for sharing.

Author's Response:

Thanks Blanca.  That was was I was hoping to do most of all.  To make a sweet - yet non-cavity inducing fic.

Thanks so much for reading and taking the time to review.  I really appreciate it.

I'm so happy to see new fic from you, xoxoxo.  I love your writing.  I like seeing how their summer plays out week to week.  You've presented a very real and honest portrait of how things could be as they navigate a long distance relationship.

I love the convo between Michael and Pam - it was like you took it right out of an actual episode.  I can totally see Michael treating a new receptionist horribly and always calling Pam.

I can't wait for the next four weeks.  :)

Author's Response:

Thanks kells!!  That's very sweet of you to say.  In another world - at another time I'd love to explore the other side of Pam being gone - the office side.

I should really write more Michael and Pam oneshots. They're so much fun. :)

Pssst - the next four weeks up for your perusal.

Okay, I liked the warmth and sweetness and all that, but I have to admit my favorite part here was Michael's cameo.  Good lord.  The fight was good too...I do believe jealousy would trip our Jim up occasionally.

Author's Response: I freaking love Michael so that's OK by me.  :) And yeah - I don't think Jim is immune to  jealous thoughts now and again so I'm glad you agree.  More wamth and sweetness to follow. :)

Yay for vintage xoxoxo!  I've missed your alwys wonderful version of their banter.  Pam rings so true here, wanting a routine date, some normalcy in the midst of all the new stuff around here.  And leave it to a New Yorker...you guys are alwasy bragging about your bagels.

Author's Response: Why thank you.  I'm very happy you liked it.  And I'm sorry that you're so bitter about living in a sub-par bagel location.  Not my fault. :)

Thank you for having them fight! I've been dying for them to have a fight on the show and though we probably wouldn't see one like this there, I loved how it happened. It was completely natural and understandable to have Jim react that way and Pam react the way she did.

Can't wait for August!

Author's Response: LOL!  I didn't realize there was such a demand for Jim and Pam arguments.  Maybe I should write a whole series. ;) I'm so glad it rang true for you.  Made me :)

This is so great! The thought of the Philly Jim cutout and the accompanying note makes me smile every time!

I like that you made Pam a little unsure of her place and herself in the beginning. Too often I've seen Pam just fitting right in and I think she would need some time to acclimate to Brooklyn before she really felt at home.

Author's Response: Thanks!!!  Hee - that's one of my favorite parts so I'm glad it makes you smile.  I grew up outside of NYC, had worked here for years before I lived here and even I had trouble acclimating.  There is no way she'd just fit right in - fancy or no.  I'm glad to hear you agree. :)

I love these vignettes for each week.  It totally works and it's all in the little details from Kelly's tab flipping to Michael asking about milk in his coffee.  I'm glad you're writing again as I love your Jim and Pam so much. :)

Author's Response: I'm glad I'm writing too - and glad you risked jail time in internet poaching prison to review. :) Thanks MA!

Nice job with this chapter. I can totally see Jim bristling when he sees Roy on Pam's caller ID. Indeed, Pam wouldn't be too happy if the tables were turned, would love to see that play out. And Pam's conversation with Michael, classic. Again, your characterizations are *so* well done.

Thanks again for sharing, looking forward to the next chapter.

Author's Response:

It would be an interesting conversation for sure - but in a couple of other fics I've had Jim and Pam have a similar Karen-centric conversation.  I love to imagine Jim is perfect - but he's not always.  He's like any guy - there's always the potential for jackassery ;)

Your mentioning my characterizations is one of the highest compliments you could give me - so thank you. :)
