thanks for posting it here!  i must admit that i was reluctant to read it, since as you know, there are many man post-booze cruise fics.  however, it was recommended over at scranton times on live journal, and those folks have impeccable taste, so i couldn't resist!  i really enjoyed it, it just worked for me, and it felt so organic.  i kept hoping there'd be a moment when pam came over, or something of that nature, but no.  you kept it true to the story - because pam is not going over in the middle of the night.  of course jim went home and drank and wallowed.  well done, i really liked this.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I didn't know this was referred somewhere - that's very cool! I'm really pleased you enjoyed this. I know it's a bit of a downer, but I wrote it before I'd seen "Money" and had no idea that the show had actually acknowledged how...well, bad Jim got. It was more than a bit autobiographical, too, but just like with Jim my story ended up happy in the end too. :)

First, congrats on posting your first story here!  Hopefully we'll see a lot more of you in the near future (and I'll have to run over to ff to check you out there.)

I really enjoyed this - you did a great job putting Jim's pain into words following the Booze Cruise. I also liked how you tied the songs into it, too.

And amid all the pain came the cutest line: "There shouldn’t be any listings of “presonaalds".

Great job!

Author's Response: Well thank you so much, for both the kind review and the warm welcome! I know this is by far not the most original idea, but I'm always so happy when someone reads and enjoys it. I'm also aware that people either like or dislike the incorporation of song lyrics, so I'm glad that you dug it. Please do swing by my profile at FF.net if you'd like to read more of my stuff...it's much more cheerful. :) Thanks again!

Nice, nice take on Jim's night post BC.  I can see him doing just that, drinking and drowning his sorrows in tunes.  Glad that's all in the past.  Good job!

Author's Response: Thank you! Haven't we all been in the position where drinking your worries away seems like the best solution? Or is that just me? :) Either way, I'm happy you took the time to read and review this, and so pleased you enjoyed it!

wow!
fantastic work! such a great one -- you really captured jim.

Author's Response: Thank you! I've been in the bog of unrequitted love myself, and am pretty sure I handled it much the same as Jim did (which says little for any creative merit to this story! :) ). I'm so pleased you enjoyed it!

Great story, Little Comment.  You really captured the mood that Jim was probably in that night.  A couple lines that stood out for me:  He’s surprised the cup is already half empty, but then it makes him smile, because hasn’t it always been?  Ah, poor Jim.  And this breaks my heart:  He’s important to her; she’s everything to him. It seems like semantics, but he knows the difference between those two views means everything, and he doesn’t know how to bear it.  Excellent work.

Author's Response: Thanks so much. I've always liked this little story of mine - it's my "first child," if you will. :) I comisserated with Jim during that episode and always wondered just what he'd do when he got home. Thanks for checking it out and leaving such a kind review!
