Freaking hell that was amazing. I loved youe first chapter and was like, can she top that? but you did and when I say you topped it, I mean BY FAR!!!! That was just - to have Jim mowing the grass... totally freaking HOT. When I read your stuff, I can totally picture everything happening in my head. I can't wait for season 3 :) BRING IT ON lol

Author's Response: Nothing is better than a reader saying they could picture a scene from the words...so, thanks for that, Hannah!

Cant wait for more!

Author's Response: Wow. That's...a lot of saliva. Thanks, aimzers!

Stunning: adj.

1. Causing or capable of causing emotional shock or loss of consciousness.

That's what this story is. Seriously.

P.S. Doesn't EmilyHalpert leave the funniest reviews?

Author's Response: Oh my...thanks, so much elly. (Hope you didn't really lose consciousness though - at least not for too long ;-)

Ya know, I'm writing a story about Jim leaving his iPod with Pam... a totally separate situation, and a totally different plot. But, I was laughing because it was the same thing - it was an accident, Pam almost gives it to him when she notices, but decides against it like that. But mine has Jim driving Pam home. So totally different, hehe.
I really should work and finish that story...

I love Jim's house. It feels so "Jimish"
Don't tell Pam, but I tend to imagine Jim the same way. Fully clothed, in the breakroom, laughing. Or leaning over Pam's desk, laughing. I guess I like him laughing. Or smiling. The smile makes me melt.

You wanna hear my freckle story? Well, you don't really have a choice (I guess you could stop reading, but I'll pretend you won't).
I have like 10 freckles total on my body. Five are on my upper arm, four forming a square, and one right in the center, just like the dots on a dice.
And I just love those five little freckles. Its pathetic of me, but it makes my freckles feel special. I mean, I don't have a guy who can imagine what they taste like, so I'll just take my freckles in weird shapes to make me special.

Author's Response: Glad you're finding so much to relate to here Emily...iPod fics, freckles, fully clothed Jim fantasies ;-) And thanks for the feedback!

Man. For something so innocent you totally know how to make it not so. :D

Author's Response: Hee!  Well innocence can be deceptive, right? Thanks so much Emily!

More good stuff! I think my favorite part (aside from the obvious sexual tension) is that a very "in character" Jim rescued her from her discomfort.

Oh and Pam, hon - just so you know - salty. *wink* (sorry, I left my shyness at the fanfic door)

Author's Response: Salty and sweet. Mmm hmmm ;-) Thanks, jazzfan...this was a fun chapter to write, so glad you enjoyed it!

I always enjoy early Pam stories. I understand Jim, we all do, but I always am fascinated by what Pam thought and how she kept herself at bay. Was she only dimly aware of her attraction to Jim or did she really have to talk herself out of what she felt? It's really interesting to read different interpretations of Pam's mindset early on. i'm enjoying this quite a bit.

Author's Response: I'm glad this interpretation is working for you - I never bought that she was totally oblivious, just had no idea how to process what she felt. (Not to mention having the power of denial of a grown woman and a small baby ;-) Thanks again, kgreene!

Oh, Colette. Is in your intention to slowly kill me? Because it's working. I read these first two chapters and I'm just.. wow. So sexy and warm and just, such imagery and perfection, sigh. Poor Pam, I'm not entirely sure what she's going to do with herself but I have an inkling she'll figure it soon enough. ;) I'm so excited to read something new from you and I am anxiously awaiting new chapters. How you continue to be so amazing and good, I'll never know, but I so do enjoy it. :)

Author's Response: Aw, you are too kind. And I love it ;-) So pleased this strikes you as sexy and warm and that Pam's confusion is coming through. Thank you so much, oobadnama!

Colette. Seriously. You are killing me with this. Way to bring the sexy. This is actually hotter, in a way, than all-out smut. Your descriptions of Jim in the yard are so clear and the imagery is so rich. I have a feeling I'll be coming back to this often. It's already in my favorites.

I love how Pam has accidentally stumbled upon something thrilling and forbidden, and she has no idea where those feelings come from or what to do with them. Jim, of course, has no idea the effect he has on her, but he still instinctively knows what to do to make it less awkward.

Because he's Jim.

You know what else is great about this? All through seasons 1 and 2 we pretty much always knew what Jim was thinking. It was so obvious to everyone but Pam. This explores what was going on in Pam's head during that time. She does notice things about Jim (freckles and all), she's just too good at convincing herself it doesn't mean anything.

She has the sudden inexplicable urge to stick her tongue out and lick it.

Good instincts, Pam. Follow those urges!

I'm definitely on board to see what you have in store for the next few seasons. I'm so glad you're inspired again.

Author's Response: Yes, exactly...she sort of stumbles into this forbidden zone 'accidentally on purpose.' Then, as you said, just shorts out. So glad you think this captures something of S1/2 Pam - she certainly could be an enigma wrapped in a cardigan sweater in those days, lol. Thanks so much, Blanca, for all your great detailed reviews!

Wow...I felt like I couldn't log in quickly enough to review this! SEXY, SEXY, SEXY.  Goodness, you know how to make a mundane Saturday afternoon lawn mowing session into quite the seductive setting. I love how you created such stillness with Pam watching him from behind the glass...honestly, I think I felt my OWN heart rev up during that section.  I think I speak for everyone when I say, I can't wait for Pam to get to a chance to not just look, but touch as well. :-)

Author's Response: Who knew Jim behind an old push mower would strike such a chord? And yes, exactly - I wanted her to have a sort of suspended voyeuristic moment, secretly watching him. Don't worry, sister...she'll get her paws on him yet. But not in S3, cause, well - oh, ask GD why the hell not. Thanks, as always, LoveFool!

These two chapters are simply lovely. I love how the awkwardness is so palpable in the second chapter- as if I'm watching this all transpire onscreen with your wonderful vivid writing. At one time or another, both Pam & Jim have lived in states of denial over their feelings for each other but despite this frustration, my heart just cannot help going out to Pam over this:

She doesn’t usually think of herself as memorable.

Oh Pam!

Excellent. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Author's Response: I love hearing that readers can visually imagine the story - means a lot to me. And yeah, oh Pam. Thanks much, Tammy!

I don't know how you manage to convey so much sexiness when nothing physical happens at all. I'd like to see JKras mowing the lawn, now.

Author's Response: Just close your eyes...all you need is a vivid imagination, and there he is ;-) I'm so pleased they're non-interaction felt sexy - I never know if that kind of thing will come across anywhere but in my own head. Thanks so much, flonkerton!

This chapter sent chills down my spine! I loved Pam's uncertainty about justifying visiting him to return his iPod, and how she was "inexplicably" nervous about it. And I was just cringing during their interaction! But like, in a really good way. You write this so well; I haven't had reactions like that since watching their excahnges from season 2. Wonderful job!!

Author's Response: Yeah, S2 is a fic writer's field day, lol. Is it wrong that I love hearing I made you cringe? Many thanks, Dundie All-Star!

Umm...Wow!  Nice visual, my friend.  Very nice.  I always feel like I repeat myself to you, but here goes anyhow.  I really love this.  I love how Pam is mesmerized by watching him do something so simple.  I love how she feels naked in front of him because I'm pretty sure it is due to the way he looks at her.  I know for a fact I have said this before, but it bears repeating.  You manage to paint the most amazing visuals.  You have a beautiful way of weaving words together to create the picture that gets me every.  single.  time.  Thank you again for sharing.

Author's Response: No, thank you again for such a generous review. I much prefer writing about small simple moments - so it thrills me no end when readers like you like them too. And I'm kind of a visual girl, so if that comes across in the words, I'm doubly thrilled. Thanks so, so much, WalkInLove!

God, I miss the summer.  Yup.

Anyhoo, this continues to be so much fun to read and well worth the ribbon bestowed upon it.  I also did my research and posted photographic evidence in the Recommendations thread.  Do I get extra credit?

Ah, S3 Pam.  Lots of fantasies, but no reality, yet....

Ah, colette. Did you write this just for me? I mean, you must know how much I adore the "strip of skin/happy trail" area, and here you wrote this whole lovely paragraph devoted to it:

This is more of him than she’s ever seen before. Her gaze sweeps over the soft tangle of hair on his chest that tapers to a thin line trailing over his smooth taut stomach - so different than Roy’s - widening slightly as it disappears under the waistband of worn-out jeans. They’re slung low on his lean hips and he’s not, she notices, wearing a belt. Somehow this detail is oddly unsettling. It’s as if it snaps him into sharp focus, makes him suddenly, aggressively real. A memory pops into her head of taking her Ken doll to school for show and tell when she was a little girl. Back home, she’d undressed him to change his outfit to discover that someone had secretly used a marker to render him anatomically correct. Something slithers and coils low in her belly and for a second, she can’t look away from Jim.

Perfection! I absolutely love stories where there is that crystal clear realization, that aha! moment when Pam suddenly really SEES Jim as a man, and this does that so well. Fabulous as always!

Author's Response: Of course I wrote it just for you - why else? ;-) Yup, she realizes he's a man - and runs, silly girl. Well, not for much longer, right? Thanks, wendolf!

And look...shiny ribbon!!  :) (part 'cause you wrote quick and part just 'cause it's fabulous and deserves decoration.)

Oh.  My.  Another freckle and a beltless Jim?

Is it terrible to admit that I kind of love the S2 UST? Not enough to go back there, I prefer the requited kind of S4&5, but a little visit via fanfic is delicious.  Like I imagine that freckle would be if Pam had a little taste.
