Honestly, this description of Jim's attitude towards Dwight makes my day.

"He's even happy to be managing people that he doesn't think anyone can manage."

Great line!  I also like that dealing with Michael is a great warm-up for having kids.

Very nice!!

Author's Response: DM Scranton is like New York: if he can manage there, he can manage anywhere. =) And I have to give credit to the forums here, for introducing me to the idea that Jim and Pam act as a parenting influence on Michael. I had never really considered that before, but I can't unsee it now.

Great piece. You've captured how Jim's mind works, I really enjoyed the parts with Dwight and how Jim likes Scranton.
Only comment is this line - "and wonder what it Pam had been with him" Did you mean "what if Pam"?

Author's Response: Thanks. I've always thought Jim is a pretty simple guy regarding his wants and needs, perhaps it's because of the office he works at. So just the two things that help him cope: familiarity of Scranton, and someone he can unload on without them taking it to heart. (And I think I need to use a larger font and turn up my screen brightness from now on.)

I LOVED that Jim only goes to work for Dwight :) because, really, they're the best couple on the show, even if it is only a bromance.

Author's Response: I love the friendships on the show, the way they grow and change. I definitely believe that outside the office, they could be best buddies if only they'd let themselves.

I really enjoyed this. I love the point you made about managing people he doesn't think anyone can manage...exactly. I'm fairly certain this is what bugs me when people talk about what a horrible manager he is.  He's dealing with an office full of crazies...as is Michael. Only Michael is ONE of the crazies, so he can relate. lol.

Anyway, stepping off my soapbox -- I loved this. I think these are very real thoughts that Jim might have.

Author's Response: Yeah, Jim's stuck in a bad spot. Inexperienced and trying to wrangle that group, poor guy can't win... yet. I'm sure it's coming.

Nice peek inside Jim's mind, sachiel.  I think you captured quite well what he must be thinking.

Author's Response: Yeah, well everyone has the 'Jim only thinking of Pam [sometimes naked]' business covered. I thought I'd try something different. =)
