Lovely story and so relatable. It’s strange how some memories stay clear as day while some fade. This story painted that perfectly. Also sometimes the gift is about the meaning behind it and so this story makes that gift so much more than we knew. I love a good back story so thanks for sharing this one.

I love it. Very poetic, and I really enjoy when there's some history created. I also appreciate your taking on the challenge of writing in the second person. That's not always an easy thing to do. It is funny, isn't it, how some memories stick and others don't.
Author's Response: Thanks andtheivy :) Ya know, I never liked reading in the second person, but I love writing in it. It's weird. I'm weird, haha.

Beautiful story, this in particular: "You remember holding your baby in your arms after she was born. You remember passing her off to her daddy, wrapped in a pink blanket with red hearts, a white hat pulled snuggly down over her ears, and how Jim sat down with her. His eyebrows were pulled together, looking puzzled, before he looked up and you saw the tears in his eyes. You remember how you’d never felt more real; how nothing on earth could have felt as tangible or as perfect as that moment, as Cece’s hand slipped from the blanket and found her daddy’s index finger, squeezing tightly. You remember the guttural noise that escaped your husband’s mouth, the hiccupping gasp. You remember just knowing that he’d never felt more substantial than right at that moment, too." I'm actually feeling choked up right now! Great job.
Author's Response: Thanks, Nancy :) I actually got the idea from a friend who posted a picture on Facebook of himself holding his (very premature) newborn baby girl... Poor thing had tubes all over her and she was sososo tiny, but she was grasping his finger for dear life... And he just looked... Guh. Like he'd found his reason for living. It's completely precious. I'm getting choked up just thinking about it haha... Thanks for the review, doll!

First story of 2011, congrats! This was really sweet, I was kinda let down buy Jim's gift as well, so I'm glad you wrote this.
Author's Response: Haha, that didn't even occur to me that this was the 1st of 2011! Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the review!
