Wow. That is the only word I can even think of to describe this chapter. Just when I thought the radio station was finally calling Jim, its the hospital calling because of a problem with Pam. Talk about unexpected twists. I can't wait to read what happens next.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I did need a little twist there, spice things up a little bit before I start wrapping it up. I'm really so happy that you're still with me and this story! More on the way soon! :)

My heart cannot take this! Ahhh!!!! First, they're putting their house up for sale... this is going to break them all. Then you have Jim reading Pam's "story," and I am not kidding when I say you're actually killing me here. I want to smack their heads together. How can she think that, and Jim, Jim Jim, I know you're a man and have pride etc, but let your family help you.

This chapter actually made me cry a little. STOP BEING SO AWESOME.

Author's Response: Aw! I didn't mean for you to cry! I think Jim needed a kick in the pants to finally open his ears and listen to Pam. Thank you so so much for being such a loyal reader! I so appreciate all the support! You're awesomesauce! :-)

What an angst filled chapter! And now a medical emergency on the horizon?

I felt so bad for Jim at the realtor's office. And I loved the way you wrote Pam's piece. I think she WOULD be filled with all the self doubt and guilt and regret that you describe.

I just hope that they don't end up homeless in this story. When the phone rang, I thought it would be for an interview. Didn't expect this twist at all.

Author's Response: I'm so glad to hear that what Pam wrote came across as believable. I think she would be holding back her thoughts, but also worried out of her mind at the same time. It's always nice to hear that something I wrote came out as realistic and in character. Thanks so much for the support, hope you continue to enjoy this one!

Oh my goodness. My heart shatters...

Who knew what Pam has been holding in all this time? Her happy, strong face, only mask as she suffered with feelings of sadness, lonliness, and guilt, all this time?!?! And poor James, already feeling so low, putting thier beloved house up for sale, reading of his wife's anguish and fear, when he thought he was going to just get the opportunity to smile proudly over her creativity as he read the beginnings of her young adult novel?

And now, has all that stress caused some complications for Pam and baby A? Has Pam's heart shattered too?

I'm waiting for more...

Author's Response: I loved showing strong Pam throughout this story, but I also really believe that she would have been hiding her worries so Jim wouldn't start worrying about her. I really think in times like these, people do tend to not say everything they're thinking, and sometimes writing it down helps deal with the way you feel. I really needed something to nudge Jim to be more pro active in his job search, and I think I found it. Hopefully you enjoy the update as well! Thanks so much for being with me along this journey! :-)

so much heartfail!
i loved this chapter. (i adore the whole story)
but i just hate that this is happening to them.
they're so quirky and fun, and this is such a sad (but all too real) thing happening to them
i hope the angst lightens up soon!
can't wait for the next chapter!

Author's Response: Aw, not meaning to kill everyone! I'm so happy to know that this level of reality angst is still coming out to be an enjoyable story for you. Thanks so much for letting me know what you think, hope you like the update too!

OMG! I LOVE DRAMA! ...embarrassing to admit, but I can't help it - I love endings like that. I'm such a sucker for Jim and Pam being worried about each other/taking care of each other/etc. (it's very weird) You have me on the edge of my seat!

Author's Response: I really like writing drama too. I am so happy to see that you're reading this story and enjoying it! Oh, James the wife is always right. Pam hasn't steered him wrong yet, I have a feeling her streak of awesome will continue... {or at least I truly hope}.

I got so excited that Jim and Pam acknowledged the hope/ plan that once he finds work, she can leave the job she is unhappy at and stay home with the kids.

Thanks trillions for another fabulous update, you do amazing work and I hope you continue with the fast updates because I'm here on the edge of my seat, waiting for more!

This was such an adorable chapter. The way Cece decided she didn't want a doggie if it meant no Daddy time almost freaking killed me. I really could list everything I love about this story, but I do not have the time or the energy to do so right now, just know that I'm loving every minute of this. This new job sounds promising. I cannot wait to see where you're going with this.

Author's Response: Thanks, Sally! I'm really loving writing Cece, and decided she would be smart enough to know that if she got a dog her dad wouldn't be home as much anymore. When you have time I'd love to hear all the things you love about this story lol I'm happy to see you're still with me on this one, much more on the way soon! :)

Well, hello there Miss Speedy Updater! I didn't even get a chance to review the last chapter and here you are with another one! I loved them both, this story is just so fantastic. I'm very interested in seeing where Jim winds up. One one hand, I hope for the sake of his family, he finds a job soon, but on the other hand, I hope this story continues for a while. Keep the updates coming!

Author's Response: LOL Yeah, it's been a boring week at work, plus I've been into this story so much that I just keep on writing. So happy you're enjoying this story. I'm not quite done yet, so definitely stay tuned, hope you enjoy the third update that just went up! Have a great weekend! More on the way soon!

Wow! So over four thousand words and still finished way too quickly!

It was all just amazing! Do you know that I almost forgot about Pam's young adult novel? Great little detail, there.

But I like that Jim and Pam came to the decision that it would be best for the family to stick close and he say thanks, but no thanks, to his recent decent job offer. The daddy/ daughter scenes of Jim in the park with his little girl, imagining her future, and her soon coming role as big sister, it would be so sad for him to pack up and leave his three other pieces....

But, at first, when he was at lunch with a melancholy Pam, I thought he would lean to take, because if he had a good job, maybe she could stop working there and create works of fiction and art while at home with her little people.

But I gotta tell you, ahhhhmaaaayyyzinnnngggg work from you, as always. Cannot wait for more!

Author's Response: Thank you so much for this amazing review! I had this entire chapter written in my mind for a while and I'm so thrilled that it came out to being something you really enjoyed reading. I couldn't believe it was over 4,000 words, but I didn't want to cut any Jim/Cece interaction because I thought it fit. I'm really happy that you got and liked what i tried to do with this chapter, show him in this one day spending time with his daughter and his wife, feeling two different things but not actually saying it until the end. Very happy to see you're still with the story, and hope you enjoy the continuation, and can't wait to see what you think of it! :)

Oh Danielle, I don't know how you do it but you just get more and more fabulous with every single chapter!

The last two chapters have been amazing. Seeing Pam showing her inner stregth and her devotion to Jim is awesome. I LOVED you adding the background bit about Pam having done this before. It worked so well, just clicked perfectly with what the writers of the show did, that she had a job offer and was going to move more than 5 hours away from her life because she couldn't take it any longer, (I thought it was about 5 hrs based on how far it is to Pittsburgh from where I live and then how far it is to Philadelphia from where I am and I know that Scranton is like two hrs from Philly so I mapquested Scranton to Pittsburgh to see if I was right and I was! Yay me! ANYHOW..) So it really fit in that she was anxious an asking for the results of the interviews all day. Her life was hinging on what happened in NY that day. I'm sure that she felt certain that she would soon be packing and starting a new life. the sad thing about it is I think she was doing based on her false belief that when Jim moved to Stamford it enabled him to move on from her. She didn't know about him telling Karen in the conference room that day that he still had feelings for Pam. She didn't know that Jim didn't shut her out of his life because he HAD moved on but rather because he wanted SO desperately TO move on, believing that Pam wasn't interested in him, and it became crystal clear after the prank on Andy that the ONLY way he would be able to even pretend he had moved on was if he shut her out and dealt with her strickly on an as needed basis. SO, she would have moved to Pittsburgh and found that moving didn't get her over Jim and she would ne in pittsburgh aching for him even as he was in NY, trying desperately to continue his charade but was aching for her. How tragic would that have been? It makes me kinda sad and depressed thinking about it. I MUST say though, it really added something great, bright and fresh to the story and as a backstory for them. You are honestly the best writer there is IMHO at ading believable, interesting backstory that really fits.

So, I was so thrilled when it was working last chapter and he got an interview. You are brilliant using the name of the customer Dwight stold from him in season 1. (I was so OUTRAGED wen I watched that and Jim tried so diligently to get in contact with his customer all day, having to deal with Dwight and the shredder and then Dwight hanging the phone up right on Jim's client. Then every time Jim tried to make to call he was blocked at every turn only to find when he finally did that Dwight had weaseled the customer away! Jim had been SO excited to make that sale that day! Of course it was so touching when in the same day Pam fell asleep on his shoulder and THAT to Jim more than made up for the lost sale. So it was neat to have more adde backstory that Jim was actually able to get the customer back at a later time. It probably wasn't too hard after all, he did say that they love him over there. (who wouldn't love Jim?!) It was a shocking painful twist as we 'saw' him throgh a really great interview, they obviously still love him, only to find out that yes, he could get this fantastic job, and he'd probably be good at it, but he would have to be away from what is the most important thing in his life, what I believe makes Jim Halpert tick and certainly what he lives for, his family, right when they are ready to welcome a new baby into the family. What a horrible decision to make. Honestly in the end I don't know that Jim woud end up being good at the job because I think he would be absolutely miserable every second he's away.

I love how Jim and Pam just fit together so well. He needed Pam that afternoon after the interview because he had an awful decision to ake and he really needed to turn to her for guidance, after all, she's the one who has been propping him up through all of this. Turns out that it's a good thing that he showed up because she neeed him too. I have always thought that Pam's tears are probably Jim's kryptomite. I always thought it was such a shame that Jim wasn't the one that found Pam crying in season 3 because I think that would have completely tore down all the walls he had built to protect himself and I thought that woud have sourred them to maybe really talk about their feelings. Anyhow, I oved ow he just saw her tears when he showed up and he was instantly needing to take care of her. It's just SO sad seeing just how miserable Pam is at the office right now. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Jim is encouraging her to write a book. This is obviously something they've talked about, how neat. I confess, with Pam already being an atist, I have always thought of Jim as being the writer. Hey, it would ave ben neat to have them collaberate, Ji write a story with Pam illustrating it! BUT, I like where you are going with this too. Maybe a path to get Pam out of DM, after all, she can't really feel like her job is REALLY all that secure anymore after what they've already done to Jim and her. Makes sense for her to want to find a way to get out and if that way were to also make it that she could work from home and be with her precious babies, well, all the better for her!

I love how you have it where initially Pam is reluctant to guide Jim in his decision bout the Job. Her fears that he will resent her if she leads him to the wrong decision make sense. I hae to say though, I really do love how in the end she can't help herself as she tells him she's changed her mind and asks him not to do it. I just don't think either Jim OR Pam would function well being away from each other that much. They would be miserable. Pam would at least have the kids to keep her busy but Jim, I doubt he would get many breaks from his misery.

You've utilized Cecelia really well and you make absolutely adorable! You do well with bringing out what a two year old acts and sounds like.

This is an amazin story and I just adore how you portray Jim and Pam's relationship. They are so completely there for each other, when one is weak, they get their strength from the other. I've seen relationships like that and they are so neat. They truly need each other to be happy and complete.

Oh also, SOOOOOOOOO thrilled to reag that you haven't completely written off the internet dating story! It really was awesome and was getting better with each chapter, like all of your stories do! I'm always excit to see where you are going with each new story you write and you've never disappointed me yet!

Author's Response: I can't begin to tell you how happy seeing your review makes me, you must be feeling a little better, I hope!! I really always feel like you are so in tuned with my chapters no matter what I'm writing, that it really does make me feel at ease knowing that I'm getting all the subtleties correct in here. Yes, Pam would not be happy to have her husband gone for so long, and Jim wouldn't be able to function without Pam, which we saw bits of in season 3, where they were just struggling to get through the day and trying to pretend that everything was fine. I figure that it'd be worse once they were married, given they know what they have, and it would be like they were losing one another for a big chunk of time, and that could kill their marriage. I know I'm telling this all from Jim's perspective, so I hope that Pam's advice to not take the job came across the way I wanted it to, that she would miss him and she needs him. But just in case I covered that base in the latest update, so everything is clear. Yes, I'm thinking of re writing the internet dating story and posting it again, but we'll see, I think your'e the only one that misses it lol Anyway, thank you so much for the feedback and I hope to hear from you again soon! Thanks!! :)

Dudddddde, are you trying to make my brain explode with all this awesomeness? I can't tell you enough how much I love your Cece. There's just something so adorable and innocent about her. I wasn't sure what to make of the job. At first I wanetd him to take it, just so we could see how difficult it would be for them to be apart, but then I thought about it, and I didn't think he'd be able to leave Cece. At least with your wife, you know she understands why you're aware, kids don't get the concept of money= food etc.
Anyway, as always, I loved this. I'm eally excited to see where you go with this and what's going to happen :)

Author's Response: Thanks Sally! I'm so happy that you like my Cece. I'm trying to make her a little bit of Pam and a little bit of Jim so I'm hoping that's working out. Very happy you're still liking this story! Yeah, Pam would understand if he absolutely wanted it, but because he wasn't insistent about it, I think that left the door opened for her to really think about it for the day while she was at work. Thanks so much for the support, I really appreciate it! :)

Thanks for another love-filled chap, Danielle.  He wouldn’t get the pitying look from cashiers when he took his unemployment debit card from his wallet and handed it to them with a fistful of coupons. It wouldn’t matter if they left a light on more than necessary, it wouldn’t matter if they lowered the air conditioning thermostat a bit more. It would be okay if they bought regular Cheerios instead of generic and tasteless Toasty O’s.  Oh my goodness, this is heartbreaking.  It makes me feel badly for every complaining about anything!  Gotta say, even though it worries me for Jim to turn down the job, I'm so glad he's going to.  He seems like the type of guy who thrives when surrounded by family.  I can't see him being happy to be away that much.

Author's Response: Thanks Nancy! I agree, I can't see Jim being happy to be away from his family, but I did want to show that he at least had a struggle with the decision about being able to afford things vs. waiting it out a little longer. Big time hoorahs and jumps for joy because of the outstandingness that is you work!

I love every single thing you are giving us in this story. I really appreciated how Pam explained to her overwhelmed and over-worried husband that it would take more than a case of the cranks to get her to run off. And her persistence and encouragement paid off, he got an interview with an employer he already has a good rapport with!

But what is with the way you are leaving is hanging?!? At the last sentence muttered a 'dun, dun, dun' for this sticky predicament you have gotten Jim into.
I am hoping that Pam encourages him to not take it. I don't want her to have to play single mom for half the month. And if she was worried about drifting apart before, I cannot see where spending two weeks a month apart would be helpful.

But on the other hand, with the way Jim has been worried about dollars and providing for his family, I can't see him tossing off a good job offer so easily....

Cannot wait to see what you have planned for next. I adore your work!

Author's Response: :) Thank you! I know, I'm horrible with the cliff hangers and was going to include the rest of this part of the story in one chapter, but it's already over 3,000 words so I decided to split up the idea into two (or more) chapters - working without a written out outline is so much fun! This is going to be a big dilemma for Jim, and I have something planned to help him make the decision. I won't ruin it for you, so I'll hush up about it, but I hope you continue to like this story! Thanks so much for the lovely compliments and such insightful reviews! It really means a lot to see that what I've written came across in the exact way I wanted it to. :) More on the way soon!
