Wow! Seeing a new chapter of this story really made my day. As usual it was another great piece of writing. This story is my current favorite. I really enjoyed the parts where you wrote about Pam's job offer. It made sense with the episode "The Job" because she did keep asking about the New York job. Was Mr. Deckert the guy Jim went golfing with or the guy that Dwight stole from him? Can't wait to read more.

Author's Response: Thank you so much, that's so nice to hear that this is your current favorite! Yes Mr. Deckert is the client that Dwight stole back in season 1, and I figured Jim would try to get his client back, since he's so big on customer service and customer loyalty. The guy from season 4 was a new client Jim wanted to get, but I can't remember his name. I'm glad that you thought the Pittsburgh story fit in well. I picked up on her need to know what happened in New York as a more time sensitive thing because she needed to give her answer to a job offer. Glad it made sense! I also figured she wouldn't have told Jim that and by the time they'd been together enough to be committed to one another, it didn't matter anymore to tell him. Happy to hear that it fit in, and I'm so happy to hear that this is your favorite story right now. Thanks so much, hope you'll continue to enjoy what I have planned!

I LOVE YOU! This is JUST what I needed after having one of the crappiest days in history!
I really love Pam in this chapter. How she's pushing Jim, but not in a way that makes himfeel badabout what's going on. And the way you had them reconnect was awesome. You're so evil leaving us hanging like that. I wonder if Pam will encourage him to take it as t hey need the money - WHO KNOWS. I miss Cece, bring her back next time too. You rock!

Author's Response: I'm so glad that this was a bright spot in a really bad day for you, Sally. I definitely think Pam has a way of talking to Jim, without yelling or nagging, just being his cheerleader and pushing him even though she knows he hates when someone pushes him. I didn't want to dwell on the fact that she thought they were drifting, I just wanted to show that he heard her, and he values her and loves her so much. I wasn't going to leave it as a cliff hanger but the chapter was already at over 3000 words so I decided to break it up and make two chapters out of this part of the story. Cece will be back in the next chapter. I did have the smut planned so I needed to get her out of the house somehow but she will be back for sure. :) Stay tuned, more on the way!

LOVED IT! The fluff, the smut, it was perfect! And, the call back to season 1? Pure Awesome! Keep the updates coming. :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much!! I'm so happy to hear that! I try to keep the call backs to a minimum, but definitely thought both of the one's I included fit in with this chapter, very happy to hear you liked it! Much more on the way soon! Thanks so much for the continued support! :-)

::jumps up and down for joy::  You know how to make me happy, Danielle!  This is an oasis!  Their interactions with each other are so loving.  It seems that their relationship is on the right track, stronger than ever.  Resting his forehead against hers, he whispered, “Don’t give up on me.”  Guh.  That makes my heart skip a beat.  So happy that Jim finally got an interview.  That Pam is a smart one.  I love the back story about Pittsburgh, too.  Great job, lady!

Author's Response: :)) I'm always so excited when you quote a line from a chapter, it means I did something right! Thank you so much! The back story of Pittsburgh came from an episode I can't remember which, where Michael quietly in the background asks Pam who D. Abramson is and she says it's from that company in Pittsburgh. Add that to the fact that she did tell Michael that she wanted to quit when Jim was with Karen, I thought it fit in well and would give it more depth. SO happy you agree! Thanks so so much! More on the way soon! :))

I'm really enjoying this -- thank you for continuing! It is painfully realistic, but completely entertaining at the same time.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm glad the balance I'm trying to strike between reality and entertainment is coming across well to you! Hope you enjoy the updates as they come and hope you'll let me know what you think again along the way! Much more soon. Thanks!

Thank you for keeping this story going. I'm currently between jobs too so the sentiments and realities the Halperts are dealing with really resonate with me.

Author's Response: Thanks so much for reading a story that hits close to home for you. I know sometimes that can be difficult. I definitely have a lot more planned for this story so I hope you continue to read and enjoy it. Best of luck with your job search! :)

Hope we're still with you?Are you nuts? This isbloody brilliant. Firstly, I adore your Cece. I don't know what it is about her exactly that makes me ant to squish her... maybe it's just how sweet and innocent she is. And the way you portrayed Jim's parents.Loved the usage of James. I could totally hear them first naming him like that.
Pam's ideas about saving money are really good. I can imagine the first time Jim uses coupons to be really difficult. Like somehow they would know he's using them because he needs to, not because he wants to, you know? UPDATE ASAP :)

Author's Response: :) Thanks Sally! I'm loving writing Cece, in my head she's adorable and looks just like Pam and is easy going like her dad. I'm always careful when I use James instead of Jim, I know it can be a pet peeve when us authors break out the full names, but I thought it fit so I'm happy you liked it! There are so many other ideas in my head for this, and I'm so excited to write the epilogue, it's all drawn up in my head. So happy that you're enjoying this, thank you so much for the wonderful support! Much more on the way!

Oh Danielle! You are writing again! Two chapters in a short period of time and they are amazing. Actually, just like with all of your stories, each chapter is better than the last.

I admire you for tackling this story. There are tons of stories where Jim and Pam or Jim, Pam and Cece are all rainbows and happiness, and don't get me wrong at all, I certainly LOVE those, but I REALLY love that you have decided to take a look at how their lives go when things aren't all sunsine and roses. Losing a job, I can only imagine what that would do to a man's self esteem. Take a man like Jim Halpert who because of the past I think he feels like he has this need, this drive, to do a little more, a little better, make sure he is taking better care of HIS Pam than any other guy could because when he got her, when all the years and the tears and the heartbreak finally paid off for him and he could call her his own, he just, I would think, would have this driving need to always make sure that she never feels like she made a mistake. (Never mind that there are probably parts of Pam that fel the same way towards Jim, that she needs to be THEbest wife, mother, lover, etc... because of bothe the damage inflicted during the Stamford/Karen time and because of him giving up a promotion and a girl that Pam probably felt was better than she herself is in order for him to return to Pam!) Anyhow, I just think the emotional toll of losing his job on a guy like Jim Halpert would be overpowering, crushing! I could see where there would be a tiny voice in the back of his head telling him that he is proving he doesn't deserve her and waiting each day to see if she's finally tired of him and what they are dealing with.

I cannot tell you just HOW much I love the whole direction you have taken with this story. First off, I think it was really wise to have Pam suffer something at work as well, it just really made sense. What I really really love is the quiet strength you are showing in Pam in this story. She is really watching and reading Jim. She is proving to be truly her husband's best friend and biggest fan. She is championing him the way he did her for all those years and that is just really special.

I love here as she sees that they need to communicate, they need time alone and she is so determined to not let this hurt her child (as is he) at all. Her thinking outside the box about the list of clients he had is really a ice twist as well.

I admit that I'm really worried about Pam at work right now because it truly sounds like things just aren't okay. She back to a job she didn't like, but with more responsibility and the one thing (person) that got her through the day back then is gone. I worry about with the pregnancy and her taking the worries of the family on her shoulders that she is taking on too much and there will be some type of a price to pay. I hope once things stabilize a bit for them that Pam, seeing how poorly both of them, especially Jim, were treated, will maybe find that it's time to move on to something new. Pam has so many different talents, along with her ability to think outside the box, I would think there would be many different jobs that she could do, and one that would make her much happier than her present job, especially her present one without Jim there.

I hope we see Jim and Pam continue to lean on each other as this progresses. I really do love the dynamic between them that when one is weak, the other is not only strong but builds the weaker one up. You have written this the exact way I always pictured things would go for Jim and Pam once they got their acts together.

Oh, I also want to say since I didn't review earlier chapters, I am SOOOO happy that Jim was thrilled with the news of the baby in spite how things were/are going for them. I really have always felt that Jim would never be unhappy about he and Pam having a baby but this just proves my point. (Okay, YOUR point!)

Danielle... you are SUCH an amazing writer. You constantly surprise me by how you can take so many different scenerios and write the characters IN character. For me a good gauge of an author (this is just in my eyes) is if the particular story I am writing were to be suddenly aired as an episode of the show, would people be able to still tell that those are their beloved characters, the sme ones that the writers took a lot of time and money to develope. There are stories out there that in order to make a scenerio work, the author completely changes the character's personality and aside from calling that character by the name the writers gave them, you would NEVER know that it WAS that person. Your stories are always completely in character and I really appreciate that. You are so very gifted with your writing skills, I really hope you know that!

Can't wait for the next chapter!!!! (And 'm still completely pouting that you discontinued the Match.com story. It had a lot of promise and you were bringing it to life in the way that you do so well~! I guess I'll get over it!!!)

Author's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to review, and I hope you're feeling well! I always enjoy hearing from you and hope you're able to let me know what you think of future chapters. You are very spot on with what I'm doing here, picking up on my subtle things that I'm adding. My basic premise is that when things hit the fan and their life isn't all rainbows and sunshine, that they are one another's greatest friends, you're so right about that. They can argue and have a spat or two and go through something like this and not break, which is what I'm trying to show, and I'm so happy that it's coming across exactly the way I intended it to! Pam does think outside the box and she's strong, maybe in a quiet way, but she does have the ability to see through things, maybe more so than Jim does, because as we've seen, he can get choked up and just stand there, not knowing what to do when things don't go right. I hope you continue to read and enjoy this story, it's definitely not over yet! And thank you for the comment about the online dating story. I may dig it back up and redo it once I'm done with this story here. Thank you so much for the lovely in-depth review I always look forward to from you. More on the way soon! :)

I want this to keep going, but you're kil-ling me, girl!  You've got something up your sleeve, I just know it!  I'm relieved that Jim's parents now know what's going on so they have a safety net if they absolutely need it (although I hope they don't).  Anxiously awaiting the next update ('cause I'm greedy that way).

This story is killing me. My heart breaks with each chapter. I hate to see Jim and Pam sad but I love that you are telling this story through their eyes. I'm sorry this was a hard one for you to write. IMO it's perfect.

Author's Response: Thank you so much for saying such lovely things. It really makes this a lot less stressful and a lot more fun when I hear that you think it's perfect. I know where I want the story to end up. I'm just finding little snags along the way but hopefully we'll get there. I hope you continue to enjoy this! This chapter did all kind of things to me. Jim having probems sleeping broke my heart. Hm explaining to Cece at the end that they may end up having to sell the house if he doesn't find a new job almost killed me. The way Cece thought it was bacause she'd been bad worked so well. Kids always say stuff like that and it's like a sword stabbing you in the heart.
Pam talking to him about booking a doctor's appointment was so cute. Will he end up on anti depressants, or will he manage to find work before then? Ahhh so many things to look forward to. I really am still SO still enjoying this story :)

Author's Response: Thank you! Kids will always say things that make you want to either crawl into a hole or laugh your butt off. Especially at almost 3. I'm basing Cece from my cousin's little daughter, and the personality fits so well. Thanks so much, hopefully this story is still keeping your interest! Thanks so much for the support. :))

Lovely chapter. It was nice to see that the initial news of the baby made Jim temporarily forget about their current struggles. That was a really sweet scene :) And then when the worry and self-doubt set back in, I love how supportive Pam is and the image of the two of them talking through the night. This all still seems so real and exactly how the two of them would handle this sort of thing. Looking forward to more!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you thought that his reaction to the baby news was realistic! I was worried, but yeah, I really do think any time Pam tells him they're having a baby, he'll always be happy no matter what. I'm happy my supportive Pam is coming across well and not overly pushy and annoying. I'm really happy to hear you enjoyed this chapter. I'm so stuck on the second half of the next chapter so I may need a good nudge to get it off of my hard drive and posted, so hopefully soon this story can continue. Thanks so much for the lovely review, it really means so much! :)

Aww, this was so sweet, Danielle! I'm so glad that it's getting better for our favorite couple. This had some great dialogue and I really loved all of the natural transitions into the different scenes. What a beautiful ending, too. Keep going, I can't wait to read chapter five!

Author's Response: Thanks Claire! I'm so relieved to hear that the dialogue was great, I worry so much about every single word sounding exactly like them. Thanks, I'm big on scene transitions and fitting things in exactly where they belong, especially that ending. I think even though they argue sometimes, they are one another's strength and I hope I can continue to convey that in a believable way. The feedback is greatly appreciated! I really want your Cece to come to lifeso thatI can give her a cuddle, she is so cute for wanting to cheer up her mommy.

I really like the idea of Jim going back to school, but maybe doing somethingelse at the same time, like really trying to make the most out of his situation. The idea of him going in to writing of some sorts is really good, maybe he could start a sports blog(for fun) and it takes off? Oooh I like that idea LMAO.

Everything about this is perfect. tell you all the time, but your writing is so amazingly in character.

*demands an update soon*

Author's Response: Another update is on it's way, I promise! Thanks Sally! You are too kind. I'm so happy to hear that this chapter came out well, it almost didn't see the light of day because I was worried so much about every little thing. I'm happy that you like the way I've written Cece, I'm trying to make her a little bit of Jim and a little bit of Pam. That it's in character for you means a lot. Author's Response: Thanks Nancy! Not sure if I have anymore bombs to drop here, they may be all out of the way, but we'll see what comes to me. A beautiful chapter! I'm so happy that Jim's first reaction to the pregnancy was sheer joy and awe. These two have so much on their plates right now and so much to be stressed about but their love for each other and for their growing family just shines through. I love that that they were able to have a repeat of that morning's discussion yet they've already learned a better way to approach it. They've learned to cling to each other instead of fighting with each other out of frustration. Great transition with that. And this moment...“I’ll never forget,” he began, twisting his lips to the side as he sniffled. “The first time I ever said to myself, if I’m ever lucky enough to be in that guy’s shoes, if I’m ever lucky enough to be the guy you went home to every night, I swore I would never ever do anything to ever let you down. I promised myself that I would never disappoint you. I swore I’d be the exact opposite of Roy.”...just about broke my heart. I love this story so much. Seriously.

Author's Response: Thanks again, Tuna! I'm glad that their love for one another came through. It took me about four days to get this chapter just right and I almost deleted it and started over yesterday, but with some editing I managed to convince myself to go with what I had. I'm really happy to hear that it worked out better than I thought it did! The Roy part was something that sort of popped up in my head, and I'm so happy that you quoted it because it was a last minute addition that I was hoping wouldn't come across as too much. I like playing on their history but sometimes I worry that people won't think they'd remember some stuff from their past. It makes me so happy to know that it worked out! Thank you so much again and it's so nice to see that you're following and loving this story. I hope you like the way it continues to unfold! More on the way very soon. :)
