I won't give you a hard time about the breaking of the cherished teapot. Enough reviewers have already done that. ;-) I will say that this is a great, succinct story about Jam that perfectly captures how they were during season 3. I also love the use of Dwight and how the story shows these 2 men in Pam's life who care about her in vastly different ways.

Beautiful! I love when Dwight is being good to Pam, so that's an extra bonus. d84;a039;d84;a039;

In addition to being daring (you broke the teapot! You MURDERER!), this actually feels really plausible the way you've written it.

Author's Response: When I wrote this story I didn’t set out to break the teapot so does that make it manslaughter? I do love the teapot so very dearly! Thanks so much for reading!

Hi, I have a question. How are you so FREAKING GOOD? This is two in a row from you that is 100% perfect. I laughed out loud at how you wrote Dwight, and Jim and Pam were both excellently written. So so good! Teach me your ways!

Author's Response: BT! I feel like my writing pales in comparison to all the brilliance on this site & this review has well & truly made my day. I needed this. Thank you.

How. Dare. You.

I can't believe you did *that*. You did THAT. You did it. And honestly, I'm equally ashamed and astonished at how much it hurts that you broke a fictional teapot and had Jim crunch a chunk of it under his heel, but well, here we are.

And even with all the pain and sadness in this story, there are still so many parts that made me laugh. Like Jim thinking she was asking him how to buy a teapot. And Michael's face pressed up against the window. And everything Dwight, but we'll get to him in a minute.

Then there are the lines that broke me like the teapot, like Jim admitting he hated watching her with Roy, and Pam wondering out loud why she felt like she couldn't hate Karen. And the weapon vs. the shield? I'm continuously impressed with the ways you tear Pam and Jim down to build them back up!

Let's be honest though. Dwight is the hero of this story. Dwight and Pam's friendship is one of my favorite things and you nailed his fondness of Pam and total disdain for Jim in the best of ways here. "Let Jim clean up his messes" indeed!

"Oh. Well, that makes it difficult to talk. Jim and Pam are inspecting each other’s tonsils." I needed this moment of levity in this story. It was amazing.

OKay fine. So you shattered the teapot. But you put JAM back together so beautifully that I'll forgive you. This time. ;)

Author's Response:

I had two thoughts in my head when I started writing this, and neither of them were destroying the teapot, so...

This whole thing has come from that weapon v. shield line. That was the entire concept. So, I’m so glad it stood out to you.

Well, that and somehow having Dwight stand guard. And then I started writing and somehow the teapot was shattered? I don’t even know. I’m mad at myself. I love teapots. I love *this* teapot. I’m a murderer... Although, I love the general consensus that people are mad I broke the teapot. I love how we all love that damn teapot.

Thanks for taking the time to review - you know I love them so!

Oh, where to begin?! I just loved this! Angst turned fluff is always my favorite! The teapot shattering, Jim running to help and not knowing how, her sobbing (me tearing up!) all these big feelings make for such a nice contrast to the ending. You wrote Dwight and Michael so well with so few words - nice job. I love that they are on Pam's team (and Jim's). That Dwight... he's smarter than you think!
I'll admit that it was nice to not have to deal with Karen and the other characters here. Focusing on these four was just right.
As you can tell, I enjoyed it!
Thanks for writing!

Author's Response: Thanks so much!

I’m glad you liked it. I love including Dwight and Michael in particular in these things. They really bring so much of the comic relief. Plus, they’re so fun to write. It’s really nice to hear they’re appreciated!

This was lovely. Dwight, the teapot, that kiss. This was a story that I haven't seen told before. Thank you for all the posting.

Author's Response: Thanks Sprinkles! That makes me happy, given how long ago the show started, there are many stories that have already been told. It’s nice to hear that this hasn’t been overdone...

Shattering THE teapot should be considered an act of sacrilege... and yet I really love what you did here in having it piece them back together. It's also fantastic to see the lovable sides of Dwight and Michael.

Please don't stop posting!

Author's Response:

I love teapots. I kind of collect them in real life, so like I hate myself a little for that creative choice. But, something had to break to put them back together...

How'd you do it? Seriously what's your secret? To have my feelings shatter at the image of the teapot in pieces on the floor and then to mend everything so beautifully.

As much as something needed to break between Jim and Pam in S3, I am sorry that it was the teapot that was the catalyst for all this. I mean you got the emotions just perfect. However even though the teapot is shattered so are their defenses around each other. Great way to have them finally have the heart to heart they needed.

Loved Dwight standing guard as well as his thoughts on everything. He has such a unique friendship with Pam and you did that justice.

Well mourn for the teapot in this universe, but we'll delight in the fact that now Jim and Pam are together.

Author's Response:

I am sorry the teapot was the catalyst too! I love that teapot... I love all teapots...

But, I needed something and unfortunately the teapot it was...

Thanks Warrior!

Listen. There were a lot of very beautiful metaphors in here but my absolute favorite was when Dwight compared them to goats 😂

Author's Response: Look. I don’t know anything about goats and that example was 100% made up, but let’s just go with it...

You're a cruel woman, Jenna. I'm okay with hurting Jim and Pam (I'm actually not, but not is the point), but doing it to this beautiful teal teapot it's... it's... gah! I'm a masochist a little, I suppose...
Aside from this - awwwww! I like Dwight's protectiveness and Michael's curiosity, and how Jim and Pam finally talk to each other (and the fact that Pam doesn't hate Karen).
Amazing story!
P.S. But I'm still not over the broken teapot 😭

Author's Response: I hated breaking the teapot! I kind of collect teapots & I would be beyond devastated if something happened to one of them - especially the ones that have sentimental value.

But, I needed something as the catalyst... I’m sorry for sacrificing the teapot!
Thank you as always! I love your reviews!

Okay, first of all, DWIGHT. I'm IN LOVE. I would read a million fics of Dwight protecting Pam if it meant he acted like he did in this story. My heart.

The rest of it was adorable. I love that the teapot meant so much to her not only because it was a literal gift from Jim but because she put so much more meaning into it than he originally planned. This was beautiful.

Author's Response: The Dwight/Pam friendship is one of my favorite things! (As you can probably tell).

Thanks so much!

I love this! And I especially love Dwight here--excellent characterization. Well done.

Author's Response: Thank you! I have so much fun with Dwight. There’s really no one like him...

But did they sanitize the table!?! Inquiring Dwights want to know!

This was great. I love everything about it.

Author's Response: Haha. Did they? Probably not. Did Dwight whilst bemoaning Jim’s ineptitude? Probably yes.

Thanks!
