I thought you did a really good job of demonstrating why Karen isn't someone Jim would want to let go of easily here. And I *love* how aware you've made Jim of what Pam is going through during this awful episode for her and how much it weighs on him.

Really good look into Jim's mindset in this episode. I think you nailed it right on the head. Pre wedding Jim is doing his best to really invest in Karen. Seeing Pam leave with Roy just shows him how much he does still care about Pam. But she's clearly gone back to Roy and he's with Karen so he can't do anything. Except still be at war with himself. Here he does use Karen. Not the best for him. He's using Karen rather than caring for her. Sadly Karen doesn't know this which of course just adds to all the heartache.

As much as we didn't wish this part happened, it's part of the story and you did a great job looking deeper into those feelings.
