I continue to be blown away by the things you write and the way you write them. The thoughts we all share as fans of the show and Jam become so much more with the artistry of how you put them to paper (or the computer or your phone which I've heard you are known to do).

This is a really interesting concept on a couple of levels. To begin with, I like exploring the idea of Jim having had to have come back to Scranton before his canon return just for a visit, which given he has family there seems... maybe not *necessary* given that it seems like Stamford probably closes before Thanksgiving of 2006, but definitely in the "possible-to-likely" range.
And the idea of them using dating apps is very amusing. I think you made the set up plausible, particularly with Jim not *really* taking action but sort of being forced into it by Larissa. (And of course I love a good Larissa story.) It feels like it has a lot of potential, looking forward to seeing what you do with it!
Author's Response: I also love a good Larissa story, so I take any chance I can to write her. I also had to get Jim in Scranton because I think these dating apps go off geography. Or something. So that was the idea. Haha thank you for the review!

I hate to see Jim miserable, but you're writing his misery so well that I don't mind reading more (I'm a terrible person, I know). And the whole situation with dating apps screamed to me that it might be the brand new source of misinterpreting things and that both scares and fascinates me (like, I'm sure as hell that it was Izzy who persuaded Pam to have a profile on the app (or was it Kelly?), but Jim doesn't know it, and I'm dreading Pam's reaction on finding that Jim also has this app... aaaaa!!!)
Ok, sorry, I'm babbling here. All I want is to say that it was a great start and I'd like to find out what happens next!
P.S. And many kudos for the weird search history. I also don't want my husband to find out what stuff I'm googling to make my stories more realistic :)))

This looks like it could be very interesting. Love-lorn Jim coming home for the weekend almost litterally a shadow of himself. Larissa is almost always a great character and that fits here really well. Being able to distract him for a bit with birthday dinner and then trying to pull him out of the depths of his heartache. Now he sees Pam on the app. Really looking forward to seeing how this goes. Is she in more or less the same boat as him? Does he get upset because it looks like she not only didn't marry Roy but is already moving on to dating before him? Lots of questions and it should be fun to get answers for them.

WW, you did a really great job with this first chapter! I’m really intrigued to see where this goes. I mean, if smartphones and “swiping dating apps” (I don’t know, I’ve never used them) were a thing back in 2006-2007, this definitely would have happened. Can’t wait to get into Jim’s head and see how he feels knowing she didn’t go through with the wedding!!

OMG WW! I am *so* pumped for this story! As always, you write melancholy Jim supremely well. There are so many things in his life that remind him of Pam, and you do an excellent job of showing that. I love that Larissa is the one who pushes the dating app on Jim. I can't imagine anyone else having success convincing him to move on... although maybe now it looks like he might not have to! Can't wait for the next chapter!
