No words in the 'verse can express how shiny this fic is.  No, seriously, I had to just stop reading to squee every few paragraphs.

Author's Response: I'm so glad you thought it was squeeworthy Lissa! Now I feel all shiny. Thanks!

I loved Firefly, so a crossover was just was I needed! You got the Serenity's crew's voices just right...figures that Jim and Mal would get along so well...

Author's Response: Thanks Luna! It was fun to do and I love picturing Mal and Jim hanging out together, sharing their love life problems!

For the concept alone, I love you. For the writing, I'm building a shrine to you in my bedroom. Wait, is that creepy?

Author's Response: Creepy? No more than working with Creed, I'd guess! Thanks angryhaiku! It seemed impossible when I signed up for this so it means a lot that people actually liked it and thought it came out in a feasible way. And BTW, be careful with any candles on the shrine - you don't want to be known as the stalker who started the fire! :-)

I've never heard of Firefly before so obviously I didn't understand a lot of this, but I did love the last chapter and the last line - so beautiful and happy and optimistic.

Author's Response: Well thanks kaystar for reading and reviewing anyway! That means a lot. I tried to make it fun for non-Firefly fans as well. And if you get a chance, it really was a cool show!

I'm impressed by how well you made this work!  Great Firefly crew voices, especially. :)

Author's Response: Thanks so much kyrafic! Love your writing and it means a lot that I got the voices of the Firefly characters right as I just think they're wonderful!

Wonderful Wonderful wonderful. This is so great.  Thanks for writing this and can't wait for more.

Author's Response: Thanks gotkona. I'm glad you liked the way it all came together!

Phyllis thought it would be fun to serve moon pies and Tang

I'm laughing so hard my co-workers think I've lost my mind.

That girl talks too much. And the other one is afraid.

That is SO River.

Meredith's reaction on seeing Jayne, Michael's reaction on seeing Inara...just dead ON, Par5. "Sooooo....you bunk alone?" Heh heh heh.

OMG! River putting Michael in a headlock! And then putting Dwigt in a headlock! Thank you!

The Inara/Angela slap seemed a tad harsh, but I understand why you put it in. I think Angela would be more intimidated than outraged, and Inara is used to Mal calling her a whore, so why would she object to Angela doing it?

The Mal/Jim interchange re Inara, "How long have you been together" is a classic. Two guys who are experts in lying to themselves/hiding their feelings but who can immediately spot that the other one is madly in love and can't express it..., oh yeah. Hot.  (BTW, it's "backpedal", not "backpeddle".)

And your ENDING! With Pam suddenly being inspired by River to make a move with Jim....wonderful! I usually hated River, but here you made her mysterious and deadly and intriguing and ... and useful!

This story is so rich and so completely true to the characters of the whole Firefly crew! I envy you.

I seriously could not imagine HOW anyone could combine a paper supply company office in Scranton with a space ship, but you did it. Congratulations.

Author's Response: Hee! This was the fun chapter. Hardest thing? Not having them all in a starring role. But as you pointed out, at least Wash is alive in the AU... Maybe the Inara slap was a cheap device but Angela did screech it loudly and we could assume that Inara had to endure some other Angela-isms prior to the name calling that added to the provocation. Mal/Jim? Big time parallels there that I never even considered until I started writing then they seemed perfect together.

There's a lot of River hate out there - I think the problem was they didn't get to her kick-ass abilities before the show was cancelled and there was a bit too much whining on her part but I thought her childlike naivete would work well with Dwight's. And as usual, I shamelessly use whoever is available to get Pam off her butt and moving towards Jim.

So glad this came across as plausible and thanks, as always, for your extensive feedback! See you 'round the 'verse.

I was only five lines into this before I was grinning like an idiot. How WONDERFUL to hear Mal and Jayne's voices again! I have missed them so much, and here you have PERFECTLY captured the way they speak. Joss Whedon would be so proud.

And THANK YOU for giving us back Wash. I love that guy. And his relationship with Zoe.

I gotta admit, the idea of Michael Scott as interplanetary entrepreneur takes a little getting used to. But then you added CREED as the facilitator, the guy who knows smugglers (of COURSE he does) and it was absoltutely perfect!

"Live long and prosper!"

Oh My God! How hilarious!! That was so unexpected, and yet So Dwight! I was (excuse the expression) ROFLMAO.

Only thing I found out of character was Jayne leaving Vera in Michael's office. I can't see Jayne letting his weapon get out of arm's reach for any reason, pretty ladies notwithstanding.

"You're reading that upside down," he said with disdain.

LOL! Yes, I imagine Creed actually CAN read a paper upside down and make perfect sense of it.  And cursing in Chinese! Of course he would. Wo hen xihuan Creed (I love Creed!) His internal musing about never having met a species where men bore children was a little confusing: in the Firefly 'verse there are no aliens. But his speculation on Jayne is hilarious: is he thinking Jayne is a former lover, or maybe his son? Wonderful either way.

The transition to the beet farm seemed a tad abrupt, but I totally believe Jayne's turnaround after blowing away Dwight's target. And you got Mose into the story! Extra points for that! :D

And I love Michael picking up the Firefly lingo at the end.

Too funny! Thanks for this!

Author's Response: Thanks neverenoughjam! Knowing you're a Firefly devotee makes your words even sweeter! Michael as the cunning businessman is a little OOC but every now and then he does do something right. The transition was abrupt - it was one of those things that got short shrift in my zeal to get it (finally) done. Might go back and work on that. Using Creed - since he already spoke Chinese on the show - was a no-brainer! And Michael with the lingo - always trying to be one of the cool kids. Glad you enjoyed it!

Very nice chapter title; I loved River reacting to the situation around her. Angela and Inara were perfect - though I was surprised with Inara slapped her. But then I remembered that she doesn't slap Mal because she wants him. ;D

Loved Jim and Mal in this - they suit, don't they? Lovely, all around.

ALSO WHERE IS MY MAL/PAM?

Author's Response: Ha! Wouldn't everyone like to slap Angela?! I hadn't even ever consciously thought about Jim and Mal before but they're so similar - a little streak of romance, funny, inner sadness, unrequited/misinterpreted love. And now Mal/Pam is all on you baby!!!! And thanks for the lovely review that I didn't mean to troll for so shamelessly... ;)

awesome, awesome, awesome!  You got the voices down perfectly, and in the process actually got me to like River!  That's amazing in and of itself.  Now let's get Pam and Jim to go off on an adventure with the crew.  :-)

Author's Response: Thank you, thank you, thank you! Man, you don't like River? Yeah, in the series she was a bit of an annoyance but I thought she kicked all kinds of ass in the movie. But the fact that you liked her in this makes me all warm and fuzzy inside! Someday, maybe I'll have to explore this some more. The parallels were a lot of fun and I'd love to see Jim and Pam in space! Maybe Michael wants an escort for their cargo? Or to send a salesman to the outer planets?! Hee! Thanks Moxie... :-)

Author's Response: I was sorry I discovered Firefly after it had been cancelled but better late than never! And such a fun show. Thanks for reading and reviewing, LilRed!

Well, you....as I said, I'm totally ignorant of Firefly, so I'm sure 98% of this went right by me, but it was still lots of fun to read. Just from a totally Office POV, this made me chuckle: As it turned out, Creed had spent some time traveling among the outer planets. Perfect. Also loved Dwight mentioning taking his potato gun to sales meetings. Impressed by the cross-over undertaking (would be sooo beyond me)...you clever girl you.

Author's Response: Thanks for charging ahead even though you had no idea what I was talking about half the time! I tried to insert enough description so you wouldn't have to know too much about Firefly, but you should give it a try sometime if only for the lovely cast. It means a lot that you took the time to read and review without any back story. You're the best! The next chapter will be better for Office fans, I think.

haha! I never would have thought these two fandoms could be crossed over so believably.

Awesome work.

Author's Response: Thanks lit_glitter! I had no idea how to start but they do have some similar character types which you'll see more of in the next chapter. Glad you thought it was believable!

Firefly + The Office = The Awesome.

I am the biggest Firefly fan and to read this was delicious. I love how you worked the Alliance into this to explain how this could happen. It makes sense.

I hear rumors of a second chapter and I WANT IT NOW. ;D

Very very lovely.

Author's Response: Aw, thanks fireworkfiasco! I'm glad it seemed plausible because at first I wondered how the heck I'd get everyone together. Although honestly, I just needed an excuse to pit Jayne against Dwight! Second chapter will be soon - all good things come to those who wait... ;-)

Brilliant!  Genius!  Shiny!  I'll be in my bunk!

And really, I'm surprised I didn't get fired.  I haven't been forced to supress laughter like that in a long time!  I'm so printing this out for the mister to read.

Author's Response:

Yay! I'm glad you found it shiny. 'I'll be in my bunk' is a favorite line around my house but couldn't seem to work it into this part! Maybe next time.

Thanks belsum!

As a huge Joss fan this made my day. Please tell me there will be more. So glad you didn't kill Wash off like they did in the movie.

Author's Response: It makes me sooooo happy to see all the Firefly love here in Office land! I do have one more chapter and I promise Wash lives through that one too. Thanks gotkona!

I had been wondering how you were going to explain the arrival of Serenity to Scranton - and of course Creed has been to other planets!!  I wonder what Pam really thought of Jayne!

Very good voices - especially Jayne and Mal!!  Looking forward to the next chapter!  Where is it????

Author's Response:

Yay! You're alive and in England! At least I assume you made it. I think Creed is actually from another planet, but that's a whole other fic! I was thinking, Jayne is like Roy but bigger, dumber, and with more firepower.

Chapter 2 is written, needs a final tweak and you can see it tomorrow. Where's Chapter 11, oh mistress of the snark?!

(And damn you, I'm hungry and craving Greek food right now....)
