1. falter by amelie
when she watches him
it's like the earth stops
everyone freezes for her
so she can have her moment
no matter how
infinitesimally it is
it's hers for keeps
and as she watches him
she begins to fall
sinking away
because she is so small
and the earth only stops
for one breath
before it starts up again
and she realizes it's not the earth that falters
it's her heart...
